Don't let that make you comfortable though, the Warriors were like -10 favorites in Game 4 and -4 favorites in Game 5. And if you didn't catch the game last night, the Warriors did not win by 4 or more. Plus in general I read the Grizzlies are doing very well against the spread when Morant is out, perhaps Vegas hasn't figured out how to value Morant appropriately.
This is more of an aside, but I wish the NBA had some rule about not being able to interview and hire coaches DURING the playoffs. It should have to happen before or after. It's just weird that Brown has been announced as coach of the Kings and that Atkinson is publicly interviewing with the Lakers. It seems like it makes room for mischief, with teams potentially interviewing guys just to mess with a team's preparation.
Probably just reaching here. But it bugged me when Brown got announced right in the middle of this series, and now with Atkinson being recruited, I have to think that stuff doesn't help. Not trying to put our assistants at a disadvantage career-wise, but if they had a moratorium on interviewing/signing ANY coach during the playoffs, it would be fair to all.
Dray makes a podcast after the game and doesnt say one thing about his individual play, but took pride in dancing to woop that trick, I'm over it honestly lol
Has anyone asked Draymond about his play? Slater had no problem asking Steph how he felt he was performing in this series last night. After his article that pissed Dray off a few months ago, he probably too scared to ask him.
Can you point to a source of Kerr saying this? To me, it's almost unimaginable to be an nba player and not shoot simple midrange shots that Dray routinely passes up with no one guarding him. This is not the way.....
They did look terrible when Dray was coming back from his injury and rediscovering how to play like himself. If he’s in a funk, it makes everything look bad…
Our defense is quite good at locking down teams with a central focus to their offensive attack. But it seems to really struggle with more balanced, diffuse attacks. I mean holy cow we even let Melton look like a star.
First quarter of the season and at start of the playoffs, we were so deep. But we have lost main 3 players of our bench - GP2, most likely OPJ and so far, Andre. Kuminga is not working out against Ja less Grizz. So we are left with regular season starters and Poole And Belli.
Remember when I posted after last games bad shooting night: I bet if you watched this game with a friend who'd never seen a basketball game before, they would re-evaluate your sanity, and probably their friendship.
Well, as fate would have it (and I'm not making this up), I randomly ended up watching todays game with a friend who'd never seen a basketball game before!
I'm re-evaluating my own sanity and our friendship.
I think it's been brought up that the length may be bothering JP, but I wonder if the off court nonsense got to him too. In game 3 he was going at people and saying "I'm really HIM," fast forward to them trying to blame him for the Ja injury and he has been a bit timid since.
I don’t know what the issue could be but that’s actually been my biggest takeaway watching these games
After I’ve know the result (stopped watching at halftime tonight but finished rewatching) Jordan Poole is absolutely scared to go to the basket right now. Actually I saw it more last game in the win. He had an open lane multiple times and he’d just pull the ball back out and make the pass back to Draymond. Just frustrating because this seems to happen everytime he get here in his own head.
I noticed that last game too, before he would dart to the basket and get the bucket before everyone crossed half court, not he slows up and pass like you said. I'm like is he worried about them attacking him while he is airborne? He's gotta shake it off, he is allowing the Grizz to run over him on both ends. Need the irrationally confident JP on Friday.
I just hope the team's general listlessness wasn't a sign that people are coming down with covid or something equally catastrophic.
This game looked, fine? Until a stretch in the second quarter where we turned it over like 4 possessions in a row. Then early in the 3rd, when a few more shots and calls went against us the team slumped their shoulders and kind of stopped trying. And I felt like Mike Brown threw in the towel maybe a little early, but it was fair I guess.
Credit to Memphis: their defense is way, way better with Adams in and Morant out. They clogged the paint and recovered quickly on the perimeter. The Warriors didn't get that many clean looks off and didn't make many of the ones they did. The team will have to find a way to better use its quickness and will need to actually knock down shots to close the series out.
Mostly they just need to be not as sloppy. Easier said than done I guess, but doable. Here's to some good rest before Game 6 Klay!
Staring at the zap header gif does help
Warriors are currently -8.5 favorites for Game 6.
Don't let that make you comfortable though, the Warriors were like -10 favorites in Game 4 and -4 favorites in Game 5. Pretty sure no one’s level of comfort is affected one way or the other by the Vegas line.
If you say so
I’m taking Memphis @ +8.5 wow
That seems like free money.
I just need the Dubs to go ahead and win tomorrow for the sake of my heart..

Bugs me every year in the NFL
They would been better off with the Big Three of Marc Jackson, Danny Fortson, and Mookie Blaylock—at their current ages.
At least we would’ve rebounded with those guys lol
IIRC, we might also have done better in a fight after the game.
So long as Mookie was not already on the golf links....

Only dray yells at other players for their actions, nobody keeps dray accountable since kerr told him to stop shooting
Can you point to a source of Kerr saying this? To me, it's almost unimaginable to be an nba player and not shoot simple midrange shots that Dray routinely passes up with no one guarding him. This is not the way.....
The whole I'm not a robot saga
What does the whole mean?
Dray has spoken a few times about his teammates calling him to the carpet. May not be as demonstrative, doesn't have to be, but they do get on him.
I doubt it
I know it’s not fun to ponder, but is that the biggest playoff beat down of the OGs’ careers?
No, Clippers did them a little worse
I guess that’s reassuring
Not game planning for a ja-less grizzlies 2 games in a row has got to be the dumbest thing ever.
Also shout out to dray for averaging a scorching hot 5/7/5 with 4 turnovers this series.
Hubris or boredom or some combination thereof. Just doesn't compute.
I’m guessing “grief” is part of the mix
They did look terrible when Dray was coming back from his injury and rediscovering how to play like himself. If he’s in a funk, it makes everything look bad…
Kerr apparently still participates virtually. He also only tested positive the day of game 4
Some random musings:
- If I miss reading the game thread live I like to go back and read all the wonderful comments... moving on.
- I think Steph's biography should be called 'The Soul of a Warrior'
- I really want to see Bjelica grow out and rock a scruffy beard these Playoffs, I think he would look more intimidating
- The hardest match up is definitely reporters vs Wiggins
- Oh how I miss that scrappy GPII fella
- That Golden State Kangz comment was funny as hell
- Andre is now officially the High Priest of The Warriors
- I'm gonna miss you all in the off season, wait does DNHQ have an off season?!
what do we do in the off-season? Rosterbate
Hey what you do in the privacy of your own, Ohhh I get it!

Hoping OPJ and Andre will be back soon.
GP2 loss is really big one. Fvck DB.
I dont see why a poole klay Wiggins kuminga belli bench couldnt give us good minutes when they take out Adam's n jjj for clarke
Draymond back with another pod/post game reaction..https://t.co/eV9vdwKBE3
Can we all comment, if your open at the free throw line shoot the fucking ball, maybe he will read it
Yea the no adjustments thing is crazy. I think they were just so emotionally drained from last game they just kind of coasted…
#champoinshippedigree 🙄
Don’t they have, like, a coaching staff?

lmfao :)
Lol!
When we sucketh, we sucketh good; this time, we nearly broke NBA records, again...

I think JJJ and his eleventy-shneven blocks per game has something to do with it, too.
Yeah, I think getting JJJ back into foul trouble is almost a prerequisite for winning the series at this point.
It's not just that. Even when he has open shot, he second guesses.. He needs to channel his inner Klay Thompson. and let it fly.

I skipped the last three minutes of the first half and checked the box score. Wow. Guess that’s…. Something.
See y’all on Friday, tomorrow is a detox day for me.
