I heard about that too - so silly given that it hasn't even been two full years since... THEY WON A TITLE. And they have the best player in the world who's already won 3 MVPs.
"We believe" is a slogan for a "David" team in the David v Goliath sense, and they just do not fit that label at all, regardless of the organizational dysfunction they had.
Thank you DNHQ for keeping me off the ledge regarding the Houston Rockets. All the talk about youth, athletic abilities and Amen Thompson (🤮 pardon me) were making my hackles rise. I only have two major concerns really: energy consumption (vets) and firepower (young guns).

What if JK's DNPs were a coaching strategy? What if this whole thing is a setup? What if he's actually been resting his previous injury and after getting the all clear, playing and practicing with the team behind the scenes to get ready for the playoffs all along? Is this feasible? Could it work? Or am I delusional? Wilson, is that you?
That’s what I’ve been wondering. Like, total fake out? And then, game 3 or so, Kuminga struts out on the floor and shreds. It would be clever but, alas, after reading TK’s tear jerker of an article on the subject (4/17), that idea seems remote.
I'm anxious to see how we'll set the tone for these playoffs tomorrow. I won't overreact to a win or freak out if we lose since Game 1 is eaaaaarly but I just hope we come out with some force
Damn just finished watching Lakers Minny game 1 and minny looks legit. I thought I'd rather play them bc I hate the lakers but after this game I'm not sure... either way I refuse to root for the lakers under any circumstances
Minnie had a great game, for sure. But 50% from 3 land? sure, if they can sustain that then the series will be short. I’d rather see them suck from 3 … and still crush the Lakers.
Minnesota is absolutely 100% for real a contender. Lakers look silly next to them
LeBron and Reaves didn't play worse than usual just by luck. Minnesota has a stifling defense. And watching Luka and Reaves play "defense" is always amusing.
So embarrassed that I called Lakers in 6. After one game I'm saying Minnesota in 5. Overreaction? I suppose. I can always overreact again later if necessary.
I doubt the Wolves will go 50% behind the arc next game. However, game 1 showed how weak the Lakers defense is since they don't have AD anymore. It also showed how flawed the Lakers offense is if the role players outside of Lebron, Luka, and Reaves cannot score.
Lot of series left. I still remember in 2016 when the Spurs blew the doors off the Thunder in Game 1 and then by Game 6 the Thunder had completely solved them and they didn't look like they belonged on the same court.
Hell, last year the Wolves beat the Nuggets in Denver twice to take a 2-0 series lead (with the second game being a blowout) and it still went 7.
>>>Blowing the home team out in game 1 is a BIG statement. Will they shoot 21-41 from 3 again? I'll put money they won't. But the Lakers need to figure some things out in a big hurry<<<
I didn't see the whole game, did the Lakers try to change anything defensively to stop the drive and kick scoring? It seemed like their strategy was hope they start missing.

Desmond Bane looks like a Tae Bo instructor… 😂

The Nuggets believe the Dubs are going to win it. Thank you, Denver!

That would be pretty Makerrvellian
Wilson is a volleyball. That's all I can tell you right now.
That's it! I am delusional.

? game is at 6:30 Pacific, per ESPN
I think he means early in the series
doh. Of course.

Obligatory: Recency bias is a helluva drug...

Whoever ends up winning the series is the team we'd want the Warriors to play the least tbh
I’ve gone from hoping mostly for a Wolves matchup to hoping for seven hard fought and exhausting games.
Or the most if its a 7 game series
The Wolves are basically an AAU team in the NBA. Ant Man, DDV and Jaden McDaniels are just grown ass kids lol
My careful analysis of the Wolves - Lakers Game 1: heh heh heh
Explain One Cackle
Today I learned that Rick Welts came out of retirement to be the Mavs CEO, where have I been? Also, the east is a complete SNOOZE fest.
Welts also said that the Luka for AD trade is similar to the Ellis for Bogut trade the Warriors made over a decade ago.
Well.... it's similar in that Luka was beloved and got traded AND Bogut and AD are both really tall. Lol.
And basically injured upon arrival, I guess?
Bogut was already injured before the trade though.
Yea, I meant they were already injured upon arrival because AD hurt his groin back in January when he was still with the Lakers.
>>>Lakers not named Luka/Bron/Austin scored 7 points after halftime tonight vs Timberwolves
2 of those points were a Vando tip-in after Naz Reid was face down on the baseline
The other 5 came from Dalton Knecht in garbage time<<<

It would be really fun to beat them, but I think the Wolves are gonna deny us that privilege.

We've beaten them.
Yeah, but it would be fun to beat them again. Just sayin...
It’s a long series and the Wolves are more than capable of stinking it up too but getting smacked around at home like that in Game 1 is crazy work
>>>Blowing the home team out in game 1 is a BIG statement. Will they shoot 21-41 from 3 again? I'll put money they won't. But the Lakers need to figure some things out in a big hurry<<<

If they’re getting easy drive and kick shots like tonight, they’ll hit more that 40% each game, and that’s gonna be a problem for the Lakers.
I didn't see the whole game, did the Lakers try to change anything defensively to stop the drive and kick scoring? It seemed like their strategy was hope they start missing.
Luka AND Lebron has got to be Lebron/Kyrie 2016 for them to have a chance since they can’t guard anybody
Maybe the refs will step in and give them a hand like they did in 2016.
The way G1 went, they probably need the league to step in and give them a hand like they did in 2016.
McDaniels: (+27)
25 points, 11/13 FGs, 3/3 threes
9 rebounds (4 off.), 2 assists, 1 steal, 3 fouls
Reid: (+13)
23 points, 8/12 FGs, 6/9 threes, 1/2 FTs
5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks
Lakers lose. You hate to see it
All I can say is: Go Wolves! A first-round exit for the Lakers would be just desserts.
WELL, that was a cakewalk for T-wolves....
So we gotta be the change for CA huh. Okay. Challenge accepted.
