First off, a belated "Top(pin) O' the Morning to Ya"(this is the weirdest St. Patrick's Day ever, but it doesn't mean that I have to stop with the stereotypical Irish greetings).

They say the draft is a crapshoot, so what is this year's, a throw darts blindfolded draft? In particular, it would've been useful to see if Toppin could've at least held his own on defense, or whether Okoro could take the next step on offense during the tournment. I guess it could still happen. I wonder if a top-5 pick this year is worth a mid (or low)-lotto next year.

Too bad we traded our own 2nd-rounder this year, Xavier TIllman looks intriguing.

Their best hit this year was Paschal. They should be looking to duplicate. Edwards or Toppin, my wish.

Of course, we also don't even know what standings they'll end up using to determine the draft order, or if next season's schedule will be affected by the fallout from this season's cancellation.

I wonder if they'll come up with a routine or checklist for workout tapes to send to the team.

Obviously it's no substitute for an in-person workout where you can't easily hide your failures. God knows how many videos there are, for example, of a random player draining a million threes in practice even though his in-game % is depressing. But with stricter requirements on how many things have to be presented in one continuous take, teams could get some preview of what a player can do.

For example, if a team says, "Show us a video of twenty consecutive corner 3-point shot attempts," sure, a draft prospect could take as many as they need to get the best 20-shot stretch possible, but if they do, at least that shows what kind of results they're capable of getting after putting in the hard work. It's not as good, but it's something.

Strange days indeed. Thanks for this illuminating article. Seems like a total crapshoot to determine BPA this year.
