Edwards, but I have to say the stats don't impress me for a guy that is supposed to have a chance at being the number 1 pick.

Edwards. Potential. Higher ceiling.

Anthony Edwards! I watched both but Anthony Edwards is a BEAST when it comes to the Glass & his numbers are HIGHER. Numbers don't lie.

Edwards seems like the conventional pick, but I really prefer the potential of Terry on the team because it feels like his game has a lot in common with Steph's, and that means a bunch of good things. Mentorship is one of the biggest ones: can you imagine how useful it would be to learn from him (& Klay!) on what it takes to be a winner at the NBA level? Plus, if he develops into a capable Steph backup, that really helps simplify schemes and lineups so the younger guys can play a lot of the same stuff the starters are running.

Haven't looked into Terry much because I assume the Warriors won't take a PG, but imo everyone should be under consideration. Draft the best player available, especially if it's considered a weak draft. If he can play but not with Curry they can package him for a player who fits the timeline better.

Of these two, I'd rather have Edwards. There's just a better potential fit. Edwards can play with Steph and/or Klay. Terry is basically a poor man's version of Steph including on defense. Would be tough to pair Steph and Terry on D for any extended stretch.

That said, I'm definitely no big fan of Edwards- there are potential trade packages where the Warriors move down for an additional pick or player and get Terry. Assuming the extra asset functions as a good fit, I think I'd prefer that. Like do the bridge trade with the Magic, absorb Aaron Gordon, get the 15th pick back and take Terry. I like that better than Edwards.

Terry is kind of a luxury pick, but it's a tasty one. The idea of a very similar profile player backing up Steph, and slowly soaking up minutes over the next four years is a very intriguing way to keep the system in place and extend the end stages of Steph's prime.

I watched at least a dozen games of Tyrell Terry this year. He hit a bit of a wall mid season but bounced back. He’s a basketball savant and would be a massive upgrade for the back up point position. In terms of basketball IQ he’d be a perfect fit for the team and I would absolutely love to see him in the Warriors program. I have zero doubt he will have a long and successful NBA career. I would have preferred he get one more year of college growth under his belt.

I'm not big on Edwards because I have the same concerns as the others, but Terry just seems way too small for what the dubs need and as an asset. Sure, he's shooting better than Edwards, but that can be completely erased in the nba due to longer, stronger, quicker defenders. Vote this round for Edwards.

This one is easy. Edwards. He has all the tools needed to develop into a very good-to-great player. He's young, but he has the potential to contribute now and gradually increase his role as he develops.

thanks for putting these together!

As someone who doesn't watch ANY college basketball, these are an ideal sort of summary articles I look for.

That said, I'm not really feeling Edwards as our pick. Not exceptionally long, or a great shooter? Seems like a risky use of a top draft pick - but what do I know?

That's the same thought I have. Edwards probably is high on potential, and not sure if that's what the dubs need right now. If he's really high on other teams' radars, I'm 100% ok with trading down on the draft. Feel like that's really what the dubs should do if they get the #1 pick. And then our pick won't have the burden of performing as a #1 pick throughout his rookie season either.

Letourneau from the Chronicle been putting out some good stuff on the draft. It's very early so it should be taken w a grain of salt, but in this article he's got them liking Vassell as a potential top 5 pick, Saddiq Bey as a potential lotto guy, Patrick Williams as a lottery pick, and even Jalen Smith as a lottery talent.

If that's true...then there's a good chance the Warriors will try and trade down and get another pick. Because it means they see the lottery level talent of this draft is very deep. I'd tend to agree.

I love VassellS work ethic worst case scenario he’s a little above average 3 shooter who trades off defending the other teams best wing with Klay Best case he’s a knock down 3 point shooter who is all defensive team becoming a corner stone for the warriors along with Paschall, Marquises, Wiggins , Poole , smailagic and next years wolves pick

I love his work, but already have Athletic Alchemy and the Athletic so I can't do the Chron paywall.

One thing I know for sure is that because there's no clear consensus top draft pick option, anything can happen no matter where the team's pick ends up landing. Like, they could very well take the exact same player at #1 as they may be able to grab at #5 this year

I paid the .95 for 30 days just because he's been putting out good stuff.

It's true. So many variables. Where the Warriors pick. No consensus top pick. Boards probably vary greatly by team.

That said, there's some interesting little clues out there that the Warriors might be targeting a trade down in some form or fashion. Whether they get a player, future pick or another pick this year it would make a lot of sense.

If warriors traded down acquired another pick , could they pair that with 17mill trade exception?

yes I believe so. In fact, that was the central premise to a lot of those "what to do with the TPE" articles that have been floating around out there.

Teams may not want to just let a player go free (remember, TPE can't be used on free agents), but the Warriors have a couple of pretty nice sweeteners they could toss into any deal

Yeah, but one thing I've learned is that I know very little about prospects and drafting right.

I remember being mad when we drafted Steph (another undersized PG?) And Klay (I wanted Kawhi) but also being really high on guys like Anthony Randolph.... so idk trust the process I guess??
