KD won 2 championships with us but my favorite Steph/KD moment is him passing it back to Steph for the ultimate Night Night against France instead of swinging it to Lebron
I'm trying to understand who has to blink first. Kuminga or MDJ.
If Kuminga drags it long enough, would MDJ have to sign Horford and Melton and may be a few others? Thereby limiting how much they can match. And then some other team can swoop in with a large enough offer that MDJ cannot match, because of the apron hard limit.
Is it plausible that there is some team capable of creating that cap space so late in the game?
Brooklyn conceivably could renounce Thomas and Beckmann and offer JK a contract starting at $22m in 25/26 season, and they have a bunch of little contracts they could try to send off to create a little more space. But if they sign Thomas, there’s basically nobody who can create cap space. So Thomas is kinda the pressure point for all these guys, in a way.
"First of all, I refer to him as Stephen motherfucking Curry. Because that’s the first thing that comes to your mind when you see him do this stuff. It’s like, holy sh-t. Nobody has that mindset, nobody."
Don't want Giddey on the team, but mathematically, it could (sort of, maybe) work if Giddey was willing to take a discount and sign for $22.5 mil with a 15% trade kicker (which would push the AAV over $25 mil) and JK got $24-25 mil. The Warriors would have to give up Gui or TJD, though. 2 possible (but unlikely), similar trades
Trade 1 (JK to Sac):
Sac: JK ($24 mil), Julian Phillips
GSW: Giddey (22.5)
Bulls: Anfernee Simons, TDJ, Monk
Celtics: Vuc, Dalen Terry
Trade 2 (JK to Bulls):
Bulls: JK (25 mil), Monk
GSW: Giddey (22.5)
Sac: Vuc, TJD, Julian Phillips
Both would hard-cap us at the 1st apron, but if we made the trade, it would mean that MDJ probably valued Giddey over a buy-out
If we trade TJD, even with Horford coming in, we could be short on bigs who can play the 5 effectively. We'd have QP but he's still got to prove he can play heavy minutes, including in a playoffs. Horford is at an age where we can assume he will need nights off and not play too many minutes, at least during the regular season. Part of Kerr's plan is to not play Dray at the 5 this season, although I assume he will in a pinch, and all bets are off in the playoffs. So I think TJD stays unless we get another 5 somewhere.
We’ve all watched it on loop countless times (or is that just me?) but my favorite part of the Olympics run was getting to see all of the people who didn’t get Steph before suddenly “getting it” and sharing in the unparalleled joy that is Steph Curry. Lots of that in the comments section here:
So how would we rank the four UFA — Grimey, Giddey, Cam Thomas, and Kuminga — in terms of whom we would most want on the Warriors?
They’re so close that I’m honestly not sure how I’d rank ‘em. Can I get Cam’s or Grimes’s perimeter game with Giddey’s playmaking/passing and head height and Kuminga’s athleticism, wingspan, and finishing?
Assuming we’ve got Curry and Melton in the fold to add spacing, I think I’d want Giddey’s playmaking…but his whole underage dating thing is off putting.
To me arrogance is more how you present yourself, rather than the basis for why you act that way.
Steph and Dray are very arrogant on the court. Different era, though. I wonder what Charles Oakley would have done if Steph ran by him doing the night-night.
OT: Another Goofus video is available for viewing. This one is from the spectacular southern coast and Marino Ballena National Park. Crazy beautiful and abundant wildlife, coastline, rainforests and waterfalls: https://youtu.be/KFVfvCIbmf8?si=B4K-T1bfHpRWrs_4
Spoiler alert: This area has made our very shortlist of place we’re considering putting down roots.
Of course, there are four players who have achieved a quadruple double in a single game (David Robinson, Alvin Robertson, Nate Thurmond, and Hakeen Olajuwon). The last time it happened was 1994. I'd expect Wemby to join that list sometime in the next couple of years.
If you add turnovers as a category, there have been 16 quadruple-hobbles, with more than half coming from Westbrook (6) and Harden (3). Westbrook had one four years ago with this stat line: 20 points, 14 rebounds, 13 assists, 10 turnovers, and 2 technical fouls. The true Westbrook Experience!
Special Mention: On February 18th, 1985, Larry Bird recorded a statline of 30 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists and 9 steals in only three quarters - a single steal away from a quadruple double! When asked if he wanted to re-enter in the fourth quarter, Bird said "I already did enough damage" and sat out.
How many active players have career highs of at least 20 in the three major categories? Dray is so close but one assist short. I'm too lazy to check anyone other than Jokic, but he's sporting a 61/27/22 line.
Edit: I also checked LeBron, but he's one assist short as well.
Edit: I had forgotten than Jokic did the 20+/20+/20+ in a single game. As did Russ. And Wilt.
thx for that highlight video.....Wilt was always my favorite player....I remember watching him live when he was near the end of his career at LA and saw him score a putback rebound with Elvin Hayes literally holding on to one arm and another defender on the other and still two hand dunk with those two just dangling like toddlers.
Way OT here, but with the new James Bond 26 waiting to be cast, and the writer wanting to create something “Better, Stronger and Bolder”, which modern NBA player do you think would best take on the role of 007?
I already thought Amen Thompson looks like an action hero. I don’t even know what his voice sounds like, I just wanna see him run across rooftops and sh*t.
You mean delusional hair-brained Bond villain right? :P
But I do like the pick. Not sure if he could pull off being on 'Her Majesty's Secret Service', but maybe more in line with Nolan's "Bond" Tenet's protagonist, ie distrustfully-secretive, hyper-aware, super-athletic...
Hopefully, the Warriors will have more than 9 players against the Lakers. It'll be funny if MDJ tells Adam Silver "we're still waiting on Kuminga" on opening night :)
KD won 2 championships with us but my favorite Steph/KD moment is him passing it back to Steph for the ultimate Night Night against France instead of swinging it to Lebron
Kudos to KD for having a sense of the moment. He knew Steph was making history and, even as great as KD is, he was comfortable letting Steph shine.
I loved the intensity of all the old guard (KD, LeBron, and Steph) giving everything they had for the Gold.
I'm trying to understand who has to blink first. Kuminga or MDJ.

Just let the stalemate end already 😭

Some great quotes from Kerr on Steph in the Olympics: https://sports.yahoo.com/article/steve-kerr-reveals-made-stephen-171111940.html

Steph looking to Draymond, Carmelo, et al, after the second one like, “Don’t worry about me.” Ice cold.
Here’s my around-the-world video of Steph’s Olympic night night, done with the translation help of a few DNHQers…
https://dubnationhq.com/p/stephs-olympic-night-night-around
Awesome, but I’m glad he’s having a normal offseason.
Selfishly, so am I.
"I overpaid to be the in arena and by the end of it I had probably underpaid"
Comment has 1700 likes
The guy said that he paid $3000 for the game.
On the subject of Steph’s arrogance, here’s an 8-minute highlight reel of him refusing to watch his shot go in: https://youtu.be/16yU_A1urLI?si=4FYVXiFgokDOKpdN
It would be funny if the whole team just started trotting back down the court once Steph does. “If Steph thinks it’s going in, it’s going in.”
Can't recall many times when Steph looked away and missed the shot
I can only laugh and giggle when I watch these videos of Steph. It’s just pure entertainment! We’re just so fortunate to have him.
Luka Doncic was not the brightest bulb today.
Maybe don't park wherever you want? Especially where angry fans of the German team can purposely block you in ?
https://www.reddit.com/r/lakers/s/WhJBVTMHyK
He's probably just blaming the refs
OK, we all need a bit of something to feel good about the upcoming season.
Here's a short clip of Steph running without any sign of that gammy hammy!!

Any of 'em but JK would hard-cap us at the first apron because we'd be receiving a S&T player. Can we even do that?
Damion Lee.

Are Steph and Draymond up there with the most arrogant NBA players (on the court)?
I think arrogance is more unjustified confidence. As another GOAT once said, "It ain't braggin if it's true."
To me arrogance is more how you present yourself, rather than the basis for why you act that way.
Steph and Dray are very arrogant on the court. Different era, though. I wonder what Charles Oakley would have done if Steph ran by him doing the night-night.
Looking around the league, their arrogance-to-accomplishments ratio isn’t that high.
They certainly got that swagger as we used to say back in the day.
True but a lot of NBA players have swagger.
But only a few have multiple rings
Ah but the question was arrogance on the court, not accomplishments.
Accomplishments on the court might induce honest talk that some could call arrogance ...
🤣🤣🤣
4 rings, Book
This is a great video that captures the early makings of the dynasty.

The 4 young men convicted of killing CP's grandfather 20 years ago have had their convictions overturned:
https://www.wxii12.com/article/convictions-overturned-nba-star-chris-pauls-grandfather-murder/63528984
Edit: oh god, teenagers with intellectual disabilities coerced by police, and then represented by incompetent attorneys. Heartbreaking.
Whoa. If they’re innocent and the actual perpetrators have gotten away with this, what a tragedy all the way around.
OK this one is going to haunt a few of you:
4 active players have a “career quadruple double”, i.e. career highs >= 10 in at least 4/5 major stat categories.
I will release 1 correct answer every hour that there has not been correct guess.
1) Draymond - 32/20/19/10 steals = 10pts to Abaddon
2) Wemby - 50/23/11/10 blocks = 10pts to vignette17
3) Anthony Davis - 59/26/11/10 blocks
4) T.J. McConnell - 30/10/17/10 steals
Of course, there are four players who have achieved a quadruple double in a single game (David Robinson, Alvin Robertson, Nate Thurmond, and Hakeen Olajuwon). The last time it happened was 1994. I'd expect Wemby to join that list sometime in the next couple of years.

Luka’s done it: 73/21/20
And a quick run through the pantheon…
Wilt 100/55/21 (lolz)
Oscar 56/22/22
West 63/24/23
====
Steph 62/14/16
Kareem 55/34/14
Jordan 69/18/17
Kobe 81/16/17
Magic 46/18/24
Bird 60/21/17
*Wilt: 100/55/21/20,000
That last stat isn't on BBref. I looked.
Chamberlain. Dude was unreal.

thx for that highlight video.....Wilt was always my favorite player....I remember watching him live when he was near the end of his career at LA and saw him score a putback rebound with Elvin Hayes literally holding on to one arm and another defender on the other and still two hand dunk with those two just dangling like toddlers.
Otto Porter Snr was something else! But seriously, Wilt was palindromatically The Absolute OG GOAT
Haha that fourth surprise entry… love it. Well done.
Westbrook
Shaq
Right you said active
He's always Shaqtive :P
Giannis? Adebayo? JJJ?
CP3 with steals?
Wemby, Dray for sure.
Maybe Gobert? Maybe Dyson Daniels?
Points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks. Have to think Dray is in that group, pretty sure he had a game with 10 steals
Way OT here, but with the new James Bond 26 waiting to be cast, and the writer wanting to create something “Better, Stronger and Bolder”, which modern NBA player do you think would best take on the role of 007?
Based on looks alone, Oubre, Gui and Jalen Green.
James Harden, given his unrivaled acting talent
I already thought Amen Thompson looks like an action hero. I don’t even know what his voice sounds like, I just wanna see him run across rooftops and sh*t.
Going to be unpopular here but… I think Kyrie could actually be a pretty great Bond.
If we can include recently retired players, Andre Igoudala has that touch of class, athleticism, intelligence, and cool, and he knows how to win.
ooooh that's a good pick. Very believable.
Curry. Wardell Curry.

Opening Night of the 2025-26 NBA season on NBC on Oct. 21, per sources:
- Houston Rockets at Oklahoma City Thunder
- Golden State Warriors at Los Angeles Lakers
The Warriors, most likely because of Steph, must still have “it” to be playing on opening night and Christmas Day.
KD will be there in OKC for ring night. Lol. Dude....
Watch out for skinny Luka, guys!
wow, no Eastern Conference representation at all
Why start the season by showing the minor league?
Hopefully, the Warriors will have more than 9 players against the Lakers. It'll be funny if MDJ tells Adam Silver "we're still waiting on Kuminga" on opening night :)
