This is indeed bad news for the NBA and even worse news for the Warriors. With a 2021start looking more and more doubtful, the window for our team also narrows along with the chances of getting back to a finals. The bubble is certainly a temporary fix but it is not a viable possibility for a season, especially without fans.

This also brings to mind the financial hit that Lacob & Cie must be taking with the Chase center. This has to be the most inauspicious start to an arena that I've ever heard of. They must be losing their shirts without games and without live concerts. I wonder if there will be any ramifications in the future. Can't even think about it. America really needs to reinvent itself.

Not sure if this thought will be relevant anywhere but:

I was thinking about a championship team’s makeup in college, there was a formula that delivered far and away greater results than the sum of the parts. When the senior class had strong skill and leadership and the freshman brought the talent and the energy, teams tended to outperform the sum of the parts. Even senior laden teams with championship winners didn’t necessarily perform better than they did with that balance.

If the Warriors wanted to maximize the vet years of their core with that strategy, bringing in the best youth talent they can over the next two years might lead to better results than having the whole core be on the same timeline.

LeBron does it differently, and the young players have to be Really good at basketball, but I have a gut feeling the Warriors need hungry & talented youth to max out the next few years.

You can have all the aerodynamics, steering, and suspension honed with supreme skill; but youth is the engine that ultimately makes the car go its fastest.

Not sure if it’s relevant to the pro game but it’s a thought.

And I was super sad there was no basketball yesterday.

Say, I joined in an online Q&A today with Andrew Wiggins and Aaron Miles hosted by Bob Fitzgerald. Fitz said Wiggins can run the length of the court in three steps. Can that be true?
