Is it just me or does Mulder make a higher % of his 3s when JTA has the assist?

It's that "Livingston Family Mojo"*

* Someone in the Pels blog recently opined that all the Warriors look like distant relatives of Shaun Livingston, lol

Hey SDot and Nico could almost be twins if you use your imagination a bit.

Expand full comment

I thought Steph & Nico were twins. Born on the same day..

Expand full comment

Okay, workmanlike win. Checked all the boxes. Good results around the league, too.

Alright NOW we can move to the post gamed thread

JTA is so fun to watch. He's like the small forward version of Looney.

With hops

And a 3-pointer!

Kelenna: "They're taking advantage of their time on the floor" ... except Nico and Smiley who can't seem to do anything but crap the bed against the scrubs of the worst team in the league.

Expand full comment

I was about to say the same thing. I can't for the life of me figure out what Nico and Smiley accomplish when they're out there, outside of running in circles and burning calories.

Expand full comment

Smiley is not even worthy of being an NBA player and I really haven't seen any flashes from him that would suggest otherwise

Warriors paid two second round picks for Alen Smailagic. The Celtics paid two second round picks for Evan Fournier (yes I know it was because of the trade exception but it sounds more embarrassing the way I framed it).

Expand full comment

Draymond, Manu, and Jokic were three second-round picks, as long as we're framing. :-)

Fitz says "Smiley got it stolen." That happens when you can't hold on to the ball.

Mulder showing off his three point shot. He's got more threes than Curry tonight.

Mannion with the steal and assist. Muldur hot like fish grease

Mulder king of the garbage time

Do the winners of the 9-10 and 7-8 play ins play each other next series or do they get the higher seeds after that??

Expand full comment

7-8 winner becomes the playoff 7 seed. Loser plays 9-10 winner. Winner of that game becomes the 8 seed.

Expand full comment

Ohhh gotcha ok. So def want that 8 seed.

Expand full comment

Yeah, with the mild positive of the #9 seed that we'd get to open the play-ins at home against the scrubby Spurs or Pels, whereas at #8 we'd have to start on the road against LAL, POR, or DAL. But yeah, it's way better to only have to win one game than to have to win two.

Expand full comment

And sounds like if they lose the first game they still get another shot against a lesser opponent at a playoff spot.

Expand full comment

Yeah. And at #9, even if they win, they still have to beat the loser of #7-8. So yes, #8 >>> #9.

Expand full comment

Yep, and the loser of the 7/8 gets home court for the final play-in game since they have the better record than either 9 or 10.

Mulder save some 3s

Just like timeouts, you cant take em with you

Thunder goes on an 8-0 run. Come on, Warriors. Can't you guys defend a little?

Expand full comment

Lol, take Steph out and proceed to go 0-8 in like 30 seconds.

Expand full comment

Man! I love Juan's game. Such a good fit in Kerr system. Plays unselfishly (sometimes too an extreme). High energy. Diving for balls. Hits timely 3s.

Expand full comment

Mannion is a traffic cone defensively

Expand full comment

Defense can be learned/developed (Wiggins). He’s a pure rookie, he needs some more g league time and didn’t get it this year because of the depleted roster.

Expand full comment

And does nowhere near enough offensively to make up for it.

Expand full comment

Yeah I've got nothing against the kid but I'm really hoping they don't waste a two-way spot on him next season.

Expand full comment

Yes. Plus, developing guys who have backup PG potential at best is not really an efficient use of your resources considering that those guys are basically available whenever you want them.

Expand full comment

I'm firmly in the camp of "never draft a 6'2 guy without outlier skill or athleticism".

Okay, I have already published the post-game. If somehow GSW blows this one, I'll have to delete it and put up another Zen mind wipe.

Move over here whenever you're ready. Why not now?
