Hield with FIVE piddling points. What’s his value if he is suppose to be our second shooter?

Expand full comment

It’s a loss. Now would be a good time for us all to turn on each other with recriminations and bitterness. Meet you in the post game thread.

I know Okongwu and Trae were big tonight, but I didn't the two Cavs the Hawks traded for (LeVert and Niang) would've had very good games tonight as well.

Not too upset about it, the Hawks played really well. Couldn’t dig out of that first quarter deficit. On to the next one…

Not the worst loss of the season, but athletic teams still give us fits. Does not bode well

I will not feel optimistic about winning a game against Trae Young in Atlanta until after the Warriors actually do it

Expand full comment

That and we've had maybe one impressive game in our last five.

Expand full comment

I'm definitely not optimistic about the Warriors winning road games if either Curry or Butler aren't there

We can’t seem to break those weird streaks like losing to Denver and ATL in ATL

Announcers busy piling up excuses.

What’s up with kuminga, no garbage time minutes?

Expand full comment

They had to give it a shot of playing their best 5 guys. Hopefully that can include Kuminga at some point soon but at this point it was these guys

Expand full comment

Which is why we won

Expand full comment

You can play a losing hand the optimal way, doesn't mean you'll win

Expand full comment

I'm sure they're still going carefully after the sprain. Plus, they need 3s.

Expand full comment

That and we sucked with him on the court.

Expand full comment

Uh what?

Is scoring points efficiently not a good thing any more?

Expand full comment

As a team we were -18 with him on the court.

Whereas we were +11 with Butler on the court.

A pattern that magically keeps repeating.

(And I'm not sure 16 points on 14 shots is efficient for that matter.)

Expand full comment

Beg to differ ... he kept us in the game in the 2nd quarter. It's not like anyone else was shooting 6-11.

Butler ended with 25 on 59% TS, Podz with 19 on 64% TS, Moody with 20 on 70% TS, GP2 with 11 on 79% TS, and Draymond is their center when they go small so he's not getting replaced.

Kuminga had 16 on 52% efficiency. If Kuminga isn't scoring efficiently, he's not offering much. Hopefully Kuminga can start scoring more efficiently but until then who is he a better closing choice than?

EDIT: And yes a fair rebuttal is that these were numbers from the final tally, not from when Kerr made the decision to ride that lineup. I can't argue that part, but I do think it was the right lineup.

Expand full comment

I agree he wasn't playing that well in the second half. I don't think I was arguing the finishing lineup, just the idea that Kuminga was garbage the whole game. He wasn't.

Expand full comment

He was pretty good in the second, I agree

Caris LaVert appears to not be on Cleveland

Expand full comment

Either foul, or just back off and let them win.. There isn't enough time to just play 15 seconds of defense.

Moody's free throw shooting has finally started looking like it did in preseason

Expand full comment

Now .798 on the season.

Expand full comment

Moody was like “never say Die”

Expand full comment

Yeah, there's no way we're gonna make a comeback if the Hawks hit their shots

Expand full comment

Dubs played relatively well, it was the first quarter that killed them

Expand full comment

Orlando was very good against the Warriors in the 1st Q, but Curry helped the Warriors make a comeback. We don't have Curry tonight, unfortunately.

Expand full comment

No quit in Moody tho

Expand full comment

Gotta hand it to Atlanta. They've had some guy to create a shot whenever it got close. Not even the same guy
