GPII leading the team in FG%, 3PT%, and FT%, not to mention steals per 48min and +\- per 48 (Aside from Jeff Dowtin who played 2 min). Also second behind Looney in ORB per 48. Young Glove is on a roll!
How come Fitz is saying sellout crowd but Arena doesn't seem full. Season holders not showing up because of Covid or have better things to do? I will take those tickets!
I was trying to keep track of the number of possessions that GP2 is affecting that don’t end in one of his steals or dunks- whether it’s keeping a possession on the glass, making a cut that bails out a drive or otherwise puts pressure on the defense, throwing off a ball handler or shutting down a passing lane that leads to a stop- and it’s a big number. Like a really really big number.
That was when he first checked into the 1st. Not a direct cause of the TO but I'm going to check the replay to see what happened... I just remember him checking in and then HOU turning it over.
The amount of energy GPII brings through steals, deflections, fast breaks, dunks, etc. is incredible. Totally changes the character of the game when he’s on the court.
Yeah, steals are a really incomplete stat that only count the tip of the iceberg and end up giving people a false picture of a player's contributions. Really similar to assists, where many types of great passing (and screening!) get you no box score assists.
By the way, Daniel put up a post game recap at https://dubnationhq.com/p/warriors-crush-rockets-120-107-as
It's killing me that the only game I've been to was their loss. Please remind me I'm not that influential to the basketball universe!
No you must now stay away from Warriors games. You can only look at the play by play after the game.
You're not that influential to the basketball universe
Fun game except for all the fouling. Finally got the game where NB and OPJ both got hot. 8/11 from 3 is pretty darn nice.
And the rest of the team was 7/33 lol

GPII is making a run for MVGP. Still a ways to go, but hell of a nice season developing.
Steph needs 100 3s to pass Ray Allen now.
But he's dropped to #7 on scoring average with 25.8 pts / game.
Curry and Dray sitting all 4th quarter is some peak warriors throwback ish.
Felt like Ian Clark or Quinn Cook were going to come in and score 14 points in the 4th. Good times are back!
Barbosa could still come in and drop 8-10 I bet.
I was waiting to see Mo Speights and his head lump come in to drop a hype-ass 10 points on all mid rangers.
With no D. Vintage!
GP2 vs. Trae Young tomorrow - should be fun!
After nine games, the Warriors are up 3.5 games on the Lakers. Tell me anyone outside of this little squad here would have believed that.
After the Westbrook deal, I can't say I'm surprised at how bad the Lakers are. And also proudly surprised of the Dubs thus far.
Both.
Wow what a fun game! Kept it tight for a while, and then blew the doors off in the 3rd before the final victory cigar of minutes for the rookies.
No fresh postgame (these early games make it rough for me) but we will be back early tomorrow with some freshness for you
Hello old friend, 3rd quarter with your Wings of Victory. Glad to see you back and hanging out. Grab a drink and stay a while!
Take a well deserved break! (All of you)
Well, Duby's subtitle for the thread was indeed: "Another easy win... assuming Golden State can handle business" YUP
How come Fitz is saying sellout crowd but Arena doesn't seem full. Season holders not showing up because of Covid or have better things to do? I will take those tickets!
I ain't payin' those prices to see Houston sorry.
It’s killing me how many empty seats there are with the way this team is playing. Most other stadiums are packed to the gills
Well, we are in the middle of a pandemic, so I think people are being cautious and avoiding crowded areas.
From my experience the upper section were pretty packed out but lots of empty seats down low

GP2 with 4 steals (+27) in 20 minutes.
4 steals doesn't even reflect how much he changes dribbles, makes people uncomfortable, induces rushed turnovers

Does he average more steals than NBA teams per 48?
He had 4 steals but plays for only one team, so definitely more steals than NBA teams.
No I mean if you take his steals per minute and calculate how many steals per 48 minutes that is, is it more than some entire NBA teams get per game?
I’m pretty sure that was a jokey-joke
Wow, even after you said that I had to read it like ten times to get it 😔
The answer is no, GP is at 5.28 steals per 48. Brooklyn Nets and the Magic are at 6.1 steals per 48 as an entire team. So close!
Heh, anyone notice the game clock stopped at 8.8 seconds for a while?
Thought I imagined that.
Yeah what was that?
I guess they thought the whistle blew or something... was a good 2-3 second stop haha
When was the last time Steph did not lead the Warriors in scoring in 3 straight games despite playing in all 3?
AND they win all 3!?
Did it ever happen with KD?
2013? 😀
I don’t particularly enjoy watching this iteration of Rockets. I actually enjoyed the Pels movement better with much less talent
I don’t think there’s much difference in talent. The Pelicans have some solid NBA guys, even without Ingram and Zion. The Rockets are sooooo young.
Well I like ANY version more than Harden POUND POUND POUND dribble for 23 seconds then a foul
Must be something in the water. CP3 and Harden and everybody all gone but still with the ball stopping foul hunting.
