Both of these guys seem like promising options for a 6th pick. It's not too hard to envision either one developing into a quality pairing alongside Jordan Poole to be part of a very Warriors-esque second unit with a little bit of everything. My preference is for Jared Butler because I think we have a lot of great non-shooting options already and good 3pt% paired with high effort defense is a very versatile skillset that can fit into a lot of situations and lineups. I'm looking for guys who'll be able to share the court with Looney as well, since IMO he's a part of the Warriors future for quite a few years yet; and as good as Moses Moody sounds, one of his nearest comps being Looney himself gives me pause—since that's a skillset that doesn't really scale as well paired with more of the same.
I'm not sure how Moody is related to Looney. Different positions, role, etc. Offensively, nothing like Looney, but if the comparisons are about defense, then he would be considered an asset and perfect for the team. I don't know enough about him to have an informed opinion. He seems like one of the group of possibilities the Dubs will look at.
Didn't watch the 4th quarter. Did the Bucks never blitz KD? Did they continue to give him pull ups from mid range where he was slightly contested by a shorter defender trying to recover over a screen?
Brutal watching the Bucks offense thru 3 quarters. Did it get even worse in the 4th?
They didn't blitz him until it was too late, let him get mid range against Lopez' drop coverage... and they also stopped playing team offense, resorting to 1-on-1... most egregiously with Giannis getting the ball in the mid-post against Harden and resorting to a baseline fadeaway without trying to get to the basket. Bucks (and Giannis) won't win... unless I'm reverse jinxing them.
that's not irrational. there is a serious lack of Bball creativity going on in MIL. Giannis needs a coach to challenge what he thinks is good basketball decision making.
On the bright side, if they lose to Durant without Irving + super limited Harden, that means they need to make big changes. Whether that's Giannis asking out, Bud being replaced or the FO thinking they need to trade the second star (Middleton), that increases the odds of us acquiring another star.
I'd like to see the Bucks replace Bud with Becky Hammon if they're making a change, rather than recycling one of the usual suspects (such as D'Antoni). Hammon has paid plenty of dues, Coach Pop trusts her, and the Spurs apparently respect her. As a branch of Pop's coaching tree, she'd have the Bucks playing a lot smarter basketball than we've seen from them recently. Just saying.
I doubt giannis goes. He's locked in for a long time. Even if he wants out, bucks don't need to trade him. Unless that was part of the contract agreement lol. If Middleton gets traded, I don't think they'll want anything from us.
WTF is with the Bucks not moving the ball around in the second half? They weren't playing smart. If they do blow it up, even though I don't normally want to pair Steph with another guy his size (because of defense), I have always liked Justin Holiday, and he can defend above his size.
The Bucks were down 4 with 12 seconds remaining while they were in the bonus.
They chose to give the ball to Giannis knowing he'd almost certainly be fouled. Bud should be fired on the spot. His assistants will almost certainly do a better job in G6 anyway.
He could get fired at half time, but still do the coach’s start-of-the-second-half interview and pull a Thom Brennaman:
“I made a some tactical decisions earlier tonight that I guess hurt our team that I am deeply ashamed of … I pride myself and think of myself as a man of faith...as there’s a shot from deep by Middleton that will be a 3-pointer and so that’ll make it a 56-30 ball game.”
Maybe fired isn't the issue. Does Bud actually show up for game 6? Or does he pull a Hoosiers and get himself tossed out of the game and pray Giannis and company can run the old Picket Fence and finally win a game for him?
They were up 12, 15, 17 points, but it some of the worst basketball decision making I can recall from a team that literally had everything going for them. They should've been up 30. Then they found out that the other team has KD and they don't.
BS foul on Harden, even after review. KD blew out an Achilles for us, so he'll always have my respect. But Harden and Irving? And Bud's coaching and Milwaukee's decision making? If a comet could just hit the Barclay Center, that would clear up a lot of s for me.
Showing that he is the best player in the world right now imho (KD/Kawhi/Giannis/Curry are all in the convo, I dropped Lebron because while he is still amazing I truly think he's lost a genuine step to age).
KD's also is playing very good D, rebounding, passing, the whole package. I think Kawhi and Giannis are amazing but to me KD is at still another level. Steph's up there too but he's a special case because he isn't tall enough to do some of the stuff KD does but he's the best small of all, and he brings a very high level of leadership on and off the court.
Nahh you're not hating man! I don't have any doubt that KD could do this while getting double/triple teamed as well, he's 7 foot and can raise up over anything. Curry and KD are two of the greatest scorers of all time.
Two most dominant offensive forces in the history of basketball, who do it in such different ways. I'm not sure KD can handle triple teams quite as well, but I also don't know if Curry could play 48/48 minutes.
Wilt is such an outlier it's hard to even wrap my head around his numbers. But yes, numerically he was as dominant as you can get.
Also I watched some 1993 MJ Finals highlights last night, particularly the one where he scored 55 against the Suns. Yeah... Michael was a pretty good at offense.
They're both amazing, its incredible that we had them both on our squad.
Curry warps defenses with his range/offball movement, a mobile artillery unit that bombards us to victory. KD is a snake (pardon the reference) who slithers to different areas of the floor before rising to strike utilizing all of his 7'5 wingspan.
Defensively, Curry is severely underrated imho and should get more credit in this arena. Unfortunately though, he's only 6'3 and his size limits his ability to impact this game. KD though . . . when you have a 7 footer at SF who plays very good defense + adds shot blocking . . . that just insane rim protection to your squad.
Once again, it was insane that we had both of them on the Warriors. Honestly, we had the GOAT squad, Bulls can eat my lunch.
He's providing playmaking/passing, allowing for KD/other Nets to get easier shots offball. Given that the only other option for the Nets is Mike James, even an injured Harden is better than that.

KD is a legend. And the Bucks are disgusting, get them off my TV and contract the franchise.
That was horrible… I’m not sure if I even want giannis anymore.
KD is a stud. That is all
I am irrationally mad at giannis deciding not to come here
that's not irrational. there is a serious lack of Bball creativity going on in MIL. Giannis needs a coach to challenge what he thinks is good basketball decision making.
I am irrationally mad that he decided to shoot a turnaround long 2 with 2 minutes to go.

Bud's also from Pop's coaching tree. He was with the Spurs for four championships.
I doubt giannis goes. He's locked in for a long time. Even if he wants out, bucks don't need to trade him. Unless that was part of the contract agreement lol. If Middleton gets traded, I don't think they'll want anything from us.

I may not be an expert, but I’m have a difficult time imagining The Bucks trading Justin Holiday to the Warriors.
😜

Over/under on Bud's firing after MIL loses the series: Before or After he has a chance to shake Steve Nash's hand after the game?
He could get fired at half time, but still do the coach’s start-of-the-second-half interview and pull a Thom Brennaman:
“I made a some tactical decisions earlier tonight that I guess hurt our team that I am deeply ashamed of … I pride myself and think of myself as a man of faith...as there’s a shot from deep by Middleton that will be a 3-pointer and so that’ll make it a 56-30 ball game.”
He may be fired in the middle of Game 6 if the Bucks go down more than 10 points lol.
Maybe fired isn't the issue. Does Bud actually show up for game 6? Or does he pull a Hoosiers and get himself tossed out of the game and pray Giannis and company can run the old Picket Fence and finally win a game for him?
I'm not sure Bud showed up for the second half of game 5. Physically he was there but his brain was on the moon or some such place.
Bucks choked hard. I didn't watch the first 3 quarters but the offense looked so bad in the 4th
They were up 12, 15, 17 points, but it some of the worst basketball decision making I can recall from a team that literally had everything going for them. They should've been up 30. Then they found out that the other team has KD and they don't.
Kd also went crazy though lol
The real reason the Bucks lost - Jeff Green went 7-7 on 3's, lol.
Not surprising after Nash's comments
BS foul on Harden, even after review. KD blew out an Achilles for us, so he'll always have my respect. But Harden and Irving? And Bud's coaching and Milwaukee's decision making? If a comet could just hit the Barclay Center, that would clear up a lot of s for me.
With one minute left in a tied game 5, Giannis decides that a turnaround fadeaway midrange jumper over Harden, who can barely move, is the way to go.
KD is looking absolutely amazing. The Warriors get a small amount of credit, he wasn't this level of a passer/defender before joining us.
KD is having one of the best games I've ever seen from anybody.
Showing that he is the best player in the world right now imho (KD/Kawhi/Giannis/Curry are all in the convo, I dropped Lebron because while he is still amazing I truly think he's lost a genuine step to age).

I'd love to see what Curry would do to a defense who's playing him in single coverage and dropping on his PNRs. Kobe's 81 might be in threat lol.
Score a lot of points, just like KD's doing right now.
I don't want to sound like I'm hating but he's doing this on single coverage. Steph was doing this whole getting double triple teamed
Nahh you're not hating man! I don't have any doubt that KD could do this while getting double/triple teamed as well, he's 7 foot and can raise up over anything. Curry and KD are two of the greatest scorers of all time.

If you’re going to talk about the most dominant offensive forces in “the history of basketball” and not mention Wilt, I think that’s a whiff.
Wilt is such an outlier it's hard to even wrap my head around his numbers. But yes, numerically he was as dominant as you can get.

When you have the GOAT PG and #3 all time SF in your squad, thats just amazing!
If the Bucks fo on to lose this game, hard to see them winning the series. (I know, great insight lol)
Kd has played 38/38 min. Oof
41 points on 14/18 shots, 15 rebounds 9 assists. He is completely unstoppable out there. And this guy is coming off of an Achilles tear.
Bucks might actually choke this lol. They keep playing a drop on KD, it's bound to kill them sometime.
Watching this game makes me grateful to not be a Bucks fan. We say Steve Kerr is slow to make in-game adjustments but this is next level.
I know there are mitigating circumstances, but is our annual James Harden playoff choke upon us? Stay tuned….
To be fair, he's obviously hurt. That's not James Harden out there (not even the playoff choking version).
He's providing playmaking/passing, allowing for KD/other Nets to get easier shots offball. Given that the only other option for the Nets is Mike James, even an injured Harden is better than that.
He's out there for the sole purpose of giving Skip Bayless somebody to blame the loss on in order to carry on with the KD-best-player-ever narrative.
