Apparently there is a special clause in the CBA that only applies to players in the final year of their contract that stipulates that a player withholding services (refusing to play) may not sign with any other professional basketball team without the permission of his former team. Not a new rule, apparently.
I've been hanging onto this one until the middle of the offseason, to minimize disruption, but here we go. I'll delete if people feel it's inappropriate.
Due to some recent huge life changes, I find myself (at age 63) with a little more money than I ever thought I would have. Also, for the first time in a very long time, I'm free of family responsibilities.
I am thinking about buying a house in Spain and relocating permanently in Spain (from the USA), using the 'golden visa' option (buy property worth 500K euros). Vigo or Bilbao are top of the list so far.
I'm wondering if we have any expats or digital nomads (particularly in Spain) who would care to comment on the experience of relocating to Europe?
For the occasional *sturm und drang* that has come with the Warriors dynastic era, I'm thankful their front office, coaching staff, and core players have been as generally sensible and harmonious as they are.
Thanks for the previous messages of concern. I’m fine as we’ve been on the mainland visiting family and camping. Our home (condo) in Kihei is fine as well. Knock on wood, but it looks like all of my friends are accounted for and healthy, but some lost their homes and/or businesses and those north of Lahaina and still cut off from the rest of the island. I also am hoping all of OGGgirl’s F&F are ok.
That said, the island is hurting in a way I, as a transplant, can only begin to comprehend. The death toll keeps rising, but only a few have been identified, and it’s now the worst fire in modern U.S. history. Beyond the shops, restaurants, bars and views on famous Front Street, Lahaina has been a historic and cultural hub for all of Hawaii, and home to many families for generations who are dealing family members feared dead, loss of their homes, businesses, jobs, other family members’ homes and their whole town.
Thank you Sab for posting the the links on ways to support the relief effort. We chose to support https://www.hawaiicommunityfoundation.org/maui-strong (the Obama one), but Maui Food Bank and United Way are both good ones as well. Hell, all the ones she listed are good. If you have the means to make a contribution of any size, it would be greatly appreciated.

@hoopshype. The 29-year-old 6-foot-6 swingman is a career 37.3 percent 3-point shooter over seven seasons.
Out of all the names listed (including Quiñones) this is the only player that really piques my interest. Im all about positional versatility and GR3 would provide plenty of that IF hes able to round into form. I also think we would benefit from havong a true backup to Wiggins. In a dream scenario, sign GR3 to that 14th spot, sign Quinones and HG3 to 2 ways and find a way to stash Gui Santos one more year
Not *too* far off my own list, though I'd probably group some of them into tiers so as not to have split hairs between Steph v Jokic, Luka v Embiid, etc.
Denver vs. Golden State is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. ET on ABC, followed by Los Angeles vs. Boston at 5 p.m. on ABC and Miami vs. Philadelphia at 8 p.m. on ESPN, according to the Miami Herald.
Ugh, Dubs have not been great in early morning games. Makes a ton of sense, have the mountain timezone game first, and the East Coast game last /s. Wyd, Silver?

Very OT and personal:

Is Looney the next WFL? Hard to believe he's entering his 8th year with us.
More so no doubt. But players used to cherish playing for any national team. Little sad that is no longer the case.
