It would be awesome if he started them at home. They wouldn't have to be in ultra-long, but let them get introduced and cheered for. Let them take the first few minutes.
I wouldn’t be opposed to that at all, and tactically I think it’s not the worst idea either; I mean if they held their own they way they did last game to the point of almost obliterating such a big lead, then I wouldn’t be surprised if they held serve a little bit as starters. Then, as the Mav starters start hitting the bench, you get our usual starters coming in and potentially pummeling their bench. Would never happen, but yeah that’d be so cool
They place Luka on the wing and have him attack. Penetration leads to kick-outs for wide open 3s. This efficiency is exacerbated when Poole/Steph is the defender at the top because Doncic blows by them so easily and even more so without Draymond/Looney to protect the rim.
Honestly, we might have to live with Luka getting 50 but stay home on their shooters. They get so hot so quickly
So they left Beli in at the end instead of bringing back Dray or Loon... think we were testing out something? Beli seemed to do alright against a couple possessions on Brunson and Dinwiddie
Little disappointed that Kerr didn’t leave the bench in. But it is what it is. Thursday at least we’ll know what to do with the second unit to start the second quarter.
Klay and Poole right now are borderline unplayable on both ends
Needs more "right now"s
when?
Thanks for pointing that out
lol what the hell was that?!
Post game is up: https://dubnationhq.com/p/no-focus-no-brooms-starters-get-blown?s=w
I am going to have to stockpile Peptobismol for Thursday. I m legit worried.
You should be worried for them. We got their best shot tonight. They're getting ours Thursday night. May the best team win (it's us)
Kerr was just saving that bench mob to start game 5

Lol at how we accidentally almost won. Joe Lacob’s accountant was shaking.
You can be sure that Guber is counting on winning at home to boost “fan engagement”. #lightyears
I liked moody and kumingas response after they started playing poorly. Good experience
Gentlemen's sweep is acceptable. And it was nice seeing the zone be effective. Other than that, I spent most of the evening Quite Annoyed.
That's actually really embarrassing how they couldn't even sneak in 3-4 minutes of garbage time in a game where they were up by 30
We’re definitely the better team. We barely tried tonight. Rotations and minutes were trials.
My thoughts exactly.
*warms up multi-verse travelling machine and checks the universe where starters don't come back in*
Yup - Dubs win.
The issue was the zone not who was playing
That is what I was thinking.. Have they gotten comfortable with zone now? That is what worries me.

Makes sense

Um it was fun before the starters came back in. I thought kerr would let them try to win it.

Oof what happened? Looking at the low minute counts, did we just throw in the towel?
Yes, but the bench made it a close game.
Bench clawed us back from 30 down
Quite the opposite. We threw in the towel early in the game lol
Great game, bench! May the frequently warring camps of Lee and Kuminga join hands and sing!
Acie vrs curry*
(checks notes) Ok, that will be Camp Kuminga for Mr. Chaos...
DFS played 39 minutes, Bullock played 38 minutes, and Doncic played 37 minutes.
In a game where they should have never seen the floor in the 4th quarter lol
