Been of the opinion that the Rockets taking Green over Mobley would be remembered as a huge mistake but I did not foresee Mobley being this productive this early into the season. Kid could really be a monster, thank god he's in the Eastern Conference.
Duarte had a good game too tonight. Top scorer on the Pacers as they beat the Heat in OT. The game was tied at 86 at the end of the 4th quarter. Defensive battle?
This top 75 thing is nothing to get too worked up about but I feel for Klay because he seemed annoyed when not on the list.
In what universe is Carmelo on the list and Klay not? Fun facts: Carmelo has never averaged more than 7 rebounds, never more than 4 assists, has averaged 44% from the field, and has been to the conference finals once. He's also a terrible defender. Klay Thompson shoots almost as well from three as Carmelo does at all: 41%. Changed the face of the NBA as a two-way force and Splash Bro. And of course Klay has three championships and clutch performances all over the landscape while Carmelo, like me, watches the Finals from home.
My live reaction to the end of this game was definitely similar, like... "yikes, they're really denying Steph the ball, oh phew he finally got it, but with only—pbbbffffttttt!! friggin' Steph."
I think my ability to analyze plays as they happen has maybe improved as I caught more of the stuff in this video the first time around. So, thanks, Apricot-sensei! But I still have much to learn, especially in the ways of catching the enigmatic Klay "first down" celebration.
avery went from friendly shooting contests with the greatest shooters in the world and having a great time to breaking up fights between teammates on the lakers not even 2 weeks later
I only blame Bradley because he didn't hit his 3s or show that high defensive intensity like he did with the Lakers in this game. If he had done that, he'd probably be a Warrior right now. But I'm happy with GPII.
Agree on Bazemore. I'm surprised (and slightly annoyed) that he gets talked about as much as he does. He's gone. I'd prefer to talk about the guys that are here.
I have a question for EA: The way you narrate some of the plays it sounds like you haven't seen them. Just like me, you yell "NO!" when Curry flings up a logo three and then have to yell yes. So, do you not watch in real time? Is the recording we're watching your first view of the play? You don't get to enjoy the game just play out? Or have you already seen it and you're freshly alarmed and amazed each time you see a play?
Correct, I was yelling “Oh my god” on Steph’s shots with genuine fear and awe on my first watch. Due to current family schedule, I can’t real-time watch the ends of games, like the LAC game, so I decided to live-react to the ending.
I’m not positive it’s better for the audience, but it’s more fun for me. My intuition says it’s good for some of the audience to see me talking through what I see and anticipate and to also see I can be completely wrong and surprised about the way a play goes and to see me see more each time I replay.
Sometimes it’s gratifying, like when I complained a bunch about #12’s positioning and then it looked like I was complaining for nothing, and then Steph actually punished him on the second logo shot.
For other videos I’ve seen the play before, but I’m trying to live-react whenever possible.
Like others I wasn’t sure if the reactions were real or staged, but they were believable. After the second or third one I thought, hmm these seem real. Then I relaxed into the flow and didn’t think about it. Overall I find this kind of genuine reaction with commentary to be totally engaging, interesting and entertaining. It’s a little more emotional than purely analytical E1Ps but that’s a good thing. I react with feeling, why shouldn’t you? And I find the cycle of surprise, review and study really helpful. So: I like both kinds of E1Ps!
Well family situations are what they are so do it the way that makes sense for you. But in terms of what the audience wants, I'd say that there are generally two types of videos: "Deep Detailed Dives TM" vs. "Live Hot But Expert Takes."
For DDD, I think recording after already knowing the outcome makes sense, or doesn't matter, because the purpose is to break things down regardless of outcome. But for LHBET I can say that I FAR prefer real-time reactions. They provide the drama and pathos that only real time can. It's incredibly entertaining to witness and expert analyzing things as I can't, yet reacting much as I do.
There's actually a third type, "Celebration Telestration," which is hilarious and I think deserves its own compilation series.
Thanks, Asher. I definitely have been thinking about things in terms of those first two categories, so it’s good to read your thoughts. And the celebrations breakdowns are of course the tentpole video that keeps the entire operation afloat
You couldn't be more wrong. I don't see how you can refer to a 2-time Defensive Player of the Year as "not really know as a good defender." Would you care to expand on that assertion?
Curry probably makes those shots over 50% of the time in practice so why not launch them in a game? It avoids any chance of a turnover and he has about a 25% chance of making them both which isn't bad for a game they were on track to lose. The Clippers were defending the set plays really well.
I think the odds change a bit on long 3s as there is close to an even chance that the Warriors get the offensive rebound and get another try as the defense is spread out.

Ahem
Mobley looking nice hey. Cavs are an interesting bunch, probably still bound for the lottery

Warriors troll Klay about not being on the NBA Top 76 list… by putting a Klay jersey in his locker with the number 77.

LOL
Can we truly rule out Klay permanently changing his number to #77
37 is another good option
Naw - nobody takes a number just to advertise the length of their boat :)
That would totally be Rad, man
... ovic

Soooo much to see hey. Weirdly I saw the JP reaction live but missed a whole lot of other things
avery went from friendly shooting contests with the greatest shooters in the world and having a great time to breaking up fights between teammates on the lakers not even 2 weeks later
I don’t blame AB cos we cut him and he took the best job he could get.
Kent Bazemore can choke on it, tho. :-)

AB looked terrible against the Clippers. Thank god he didn’t have one good game for us, his showing against us is not going to be very repeatable.
I once had a friend named Kent Bazemore. Don't know what ever happened to him, because he is DEAD TO ME.
same here, i like AB and wished he was good enough to stay
and yes bazemore can suck a fat one!
"I took less money for this crap?!"
Serves him right. And I always loved him so, ever since his leading the bench celebrations :(

More please!

Maybe in the future, I’ll add a caption or something to indicate when it’s a live reaction.
Perfect thanks EA. Loving the live reactions
I like this. I like the Live Reaction take a lot, but it definitely feels different from the E1P's of the past which dissect and analyze.
Gotta admit, Clips play pretty strong defense.
Really. Kudos for Steph being Steph to allow Dubs to put up 115 against them.
I’m counting on Kawhi returning and screwing it all up since he’s not really known as a good defender.
You couldn't be more wrong. I don't see how you can refer to a 2-time Defensive Player of the Year as "not really know as a good defender." Would you care to expand on that assertion?
Either 7 people liked this because they’re as wrong as I am, or they understood it to be a joke. I’ll let you decide.
I believe you can file that one under (over?) the category *whoosh*
Probably unlikely before playoffs.
No doubt

With those stats, considering the missed shot as essentially a turnover (75% chance) "No/Yes" is a reasonable response.
I think the odds change a bit on long 3s as there is close to an even chance that the Warriors get the offensive rebound and get another try as the defense is spread out.
From what I remember, I don’t think the actual statistics support this claim
Whew, was starting to worry it was going to be a wait and see thing for a while.
welp.
