@DNHQFO Can we please get a poll for trade options to see how well we can predict what's going to happen before the deadline?

Expand full comment

I think I can help (assuming you mean what's going to happen with the Warriors, not what's going to happen league wide):

Poll: Select the option you think is most likely to to happen with the Warriors trades at the deadline:

1) Nothing

2) Almost Nothing

I need clarification. In your poll, is Almost Nothing more than or less than straight Nothing?

Yes. ;)

I don't care for either team in the Super Bowl, but I'm hoping for a Philly loss. Then for the sixers to make the finals so the Warriors can beat them. Make it 3 straight Championship losses for the city of Philadelphia dating back to the Phillies World Series. No reason why other than it would be kinda funny

Expand full comment

I think a lot of things have to happen to about 4 other east teams for Philly to make it to the finals.

Expand full comment

Yea. But would be funny to beat Harden again

Expand full comment

But he must never get to the finals.

Expand full comment

He's already lost one. Let's make it 0-2

Expand full comment

When did he get to the finals?

Expand full comment

OKC v Miami?

I have a hard time believing the Nuggets have better championship odds than the Warriors.

They've been to the conference finals twice since Jordan's rookie year.

I know they have talent, but the Utah Jazz had talent too.

Expand full comment

This year they actually have Murray, Porter jr, Bruce Brown and KCP

Expand full comment

Yeah, I know about their injury situation last year, I'm just saying it takes more than a quantity of talent to win.

The Nuggets have never demonstrated they are a better playoff team than the talented Gobert Jazz.

Expand full comment

"They've been to the conference finals twice since Jordan's rookie year." So what? We had a long drought before the current core too. We mostly sucked for almost two decades. Jokic is no joke, that's a damn good team, and they've played way better than we have so far. We could turn it around during the playoffs but I wouldn't blame the odds makers for favoring the Nuggets. Right now that looks like a fair bet.

Four decades

Moving on up. Dubs now in 6th place in the West. One game out of 4th place (2.5 out of 3rd)

Bengals lose bc of a bonehead play. 8 sec left, personal foul for pushing Mahomes after he was already out of bounds. Added 15 yards and next play is the game-winning field goal.

Expand full comment

KC gets lucky again; I'll take it though, as Cincy was really A-Holish about beating my Bills.

Now just need Philly to win please.

Expand full comment

I think the guy just lost track of where the sideline was.

I felt bad for him crying after the game.

With 8 seconds left Mahomes might still have completed a short sidelines pass and they make the kick anyway.

Expand full comment

That was pretty sad. I hope he doesn’t carry the weight of it for too long. In real time, it’s hard to just stop a big body like his running full speed. Very gutsy play by Mahomes considering he has an ankle sprain.

Super Bowl is Eagles vs. Chiefs. Bleh. I don't like both of those teams.

Expand full comment

Actually, the Eagles are a fine team. I just can't stand their fanbase.

Expand full comment

Nevertheless, let’s go Chiefs!

Bucks beat the Pelicans 135-110.

What a way to lose for the 49ers. I can't remember a worse loss than this one. No QB to pass the ball! Philly steam-rolled them so thoroughly that I thought I was watching a Bill Walsh team in their prime. Philly is a bona fide monster.

Expand full comment

That monster only got 269 yards of total offense, including 30 on a dropped fourth down pass that led to a touchdown. That game was 100% about the quarterback injury. It's impossible to beat a half decent team if they know you can't throw.

Expand full comment

I agree with your last line. But, whatever they got from the 2nd best team in football, 49ers, was lethal. I would have loved to see what Purdy could do against them. Alas, it was not to be, and the 49ers will have some hard decisions to make in the off season. Their QB situation is untenable as configured. Lance is a complete unknown in the NFL, Garropolo is a goner as he will undoubtedly be signed somewhere else, and it looks like the choice between Lance and Purdy, barring injuries, goes to Purdy. 49ers have some kind of QB curse going on. Shanahan stymied again.

Expand full comment

(Then again, I'm still a bit mad about the game and probably not 100% objective. :D )

Brock Purdy injury at the beginning of the game was a killer. The offense couldn't stay on the field, so the defense got worn out over time.

Expand full comment

As long as we don't play any games, I like our chances of climbing into 4th place by the end of next week.

Expand full comment

Lets hope we dont begin with a trap game” against OKC - who are full of tall speedy players.

Cavs beat the Clippers 122-99.

49ers believe QB Brock Purdy injured his ulnar collateral ligament during today’s NFC Championship Game, per sources, and he will undergo an MRI Monday. The hope is that it’s not ruptured, and it would require only a six-week recovery, but tests Monday will provide clarity.

Watching Giannis in person is amazing! And, it’s Bango the Mascot’s birthday so mascots from around the league are here. I booed the dumb Jazz wolf but the Magic dragon is cool.

Is Benny there? Seems like he'd always be up for a party.

He was announced but did not appear, shucks.

If clips and pels both lose, warriors will be 3rd place in the loss column in the west.

Expand full comment

4th, but yeah!

Apparently the Kings don't exist to me.

Good thought

Expand full comment

Looking pretty good so far: Milwaukee Cavaliers 110, LA Pelicans 58 😂

Expand full comment

Wait have you wormholed into the future - bucks-pels 39-25 in 2nd and cleve- clips 84-54 in 3rd

Expand full comment

I was tallying ‘em up. It works that way, right?

Expand full comment

aah - i have not recovered from the niners loss

Expand full comment

Tell me more about the Clips’ amazing depth, lolz

Expand full comment

The Clips have two of the starters on the All-NBA "Is He Injured? Is He Not Injured? I Can't Keep Track, What's the Deal Here Because He's Good When He Plays But He's Constantly In and Out and Bruh I Just Can't Keep Track ..." team: Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. Iguodala comes off the bench for that team. Zion is on it, Anthony Davis, who am I forgetting?

Expand full comment

Kris Middleton, for sure. Maybe Booker too.

You didn't give a lot of context for this comment. So I check the scoreboard...Clips down 64-34 at the half. There's my context.

Expand full comment

Was 64-29 when I posted, lol. Hope I didn’t jinx it…

“I couldn’t throw anything over 5 yards….”

Brock Purdy said he felt “shocks” and “just pain” from his elbow to his wrist. He’ll get an MRI tomorrow

https://twitter.com/ByKimberleyA/status/1619848893898055681

I really hope it isn't anything serious.

Expand full comment

I mean, if it was minor enough for him to come back in the game in the 4th, I think it’s pretty safe to assume he’ll be good to go 6+ months from now.

Unbelievably shitty luck for the Niners, though, between the injury and the drop on 4th and 3 that no one saw and was not reviewed. I didn’t have a horse in the race, but felt deprived of what should have been an epic game between two closely matched teams.

Expand full comment

Sucks that we didn't even get to see if purdy could rise up to the occasion. If the niners lost but purdy played well, I would feel good going into next season.

Now? No idea if purdy is the guy or lance. Maybe Brady 🤷

Expand full comment

Defintely NOT BRADY

Expand full comment

In Purdy we trust.

Expand full comment

Purdy has definitely earned it.

But if it turns out he needs like Tommy John surgery or something.....well might be back to Lance to start the season.

Purdy all the way.
