It would be interesting to have an expert here (or elsewhere) do a list of "NBA Basketball IQ Rankings." Top 10, 100, 307, whatever. Would also be interesting to see what we non-experts think. It's hard to argue with Draymond being in the top ten. Iguodala might also be there. Steph -- I'm not sure. His other talents are so distracting, and he does make the bonehead style play too often. Around the league: Kyle "Slow-Mo" Anderson always seems to be doing right things. Mike Conley, CP3, Rubio ... I guess point guards makes sense. LeBron? Have only given this 5 minutes thought so would be curious to see what others think. PS I'm super ready to help out with a "Bottom 10 BBIQ in the League" list.
When we were naming this site and before we all got behind the HQ name, I was pushing “Dub Nation Smokehouse” with lots of BBQ style graphics. I can probably still get my logo mockups out of the trash…
Jumping the gun a little, but looking at the Rockets schedule, they got the opposite of what the Warriors did. Even if some of the teams are under performing, Celtics, Mavericks, Jazz, Lakers (twice!), Suns, Nuggets with the last 4 of those games on the road is a brutal way to start the season. They may well be better than their record shows.
It's a fair point to discuss schedule, but I feel super incompetent to evaluate their lineup. They start guys with 1, 2 or 3 years in the league. Open mind here but suspicious of young lineups that young.
If they can figure out how to be consistent and close games, they will really be dangerous. I'm sure it will take a while but I like their prospects. In this year's draft, my fantasy was that somehow - however improbable it was - Jalen Green wound up with the Dubs.
Is Daniel getting stick for writing for GSOM? I'm pleased someone is paying him to write more, that I can read for free (because I'm too poor to pay myself)!
Amen to this. I'm just glad we get both Daniel and Joe here -- let's keep the whining to GSOM where they're still debating when we should trade for Ben Simmons
Haven’t been there since the whole exodus. I do miss trolling the dream shake, what a loved seeing how toxic they were and then returning to the haven of good natured w’s fandom
Always fun to read through the past week's comments. I always think I've seen them all - but usually there are a couple that I've missed.
Just reading an NBC Sports article on the "Phenomenal" 2nd unit that had a few things that surprised me. Currently, Igoudala [2nd], Bjelica [3rd] and Porter [9th] are in the Top 10 for defensive rating and Bjelica is 1st in Net rating. Very early - but great to see.
Eric Apricot, I think your long time readers from the other site know about you and your background and passion for this work. I am asking you to share you bb bio with us. I have found your videos and commentary helpful, insightful and kind. I like that tone, and that combination.
Hello, thanks for the kind words. I prefer to keep most life details private, so I’ll just say I’m a long time basketball fan who splits time between being a full time pug and my day job which is being Steve Kerr, head coach of a professional basketball team
been wondering when this shoe would drop! my sense was a lot of players (or at least Warriors) got J&J, presumably to avoid dealing with the second shot logistics/potential reaction
This is the right choice for the health of the league but hoo boy some people are going to be unhappy with it.
I know about a dozen people who are approximately NBA age and got J&J back in April, including myself. One got a pretty debilitating case of covid just before the boosters got approved. Several of us have gotten (Pfizer or Moderna) boosters in the past few weeks, and in my case it was absolutely miserable the evening of. Nobody else had *any* reaction at all to the booster. But even if it's like 20% who have a rough time of it, that's a lot of grumpy NBA players.

Does JR Smith not qualify because he's retired????
Oh, I think he may be the captain! .... of the Bottom Ten list.
Dray, Andre, and Bron top 3 I think
Jokic and (much as I hate to say it) CP3 might round out the top 5
Jokic! of course
Luka is out because his offense IQ is off the charts but his defense IQ I question.
PS League should give out a BBIQ Award. It could be like a big BBQ grill.

If only there were a Branding IQ Rankings
Lebron’s IQ ometer dropped many points after “letting” Westrbrick join the old folks home. So strange that he would want him on the team…
OK but that's like his GM IQ, which I will readily grant you is a highly mixed bag. I was talking on-court of course
In lebron's case, I don't think you can separate the two. So much of his off the court influence dictates what happens on court as well.
True true. Like how Bill Russell or Dave Cowens were player/coaches, he's a player/GM.

Yea, they start two 19yo guys and two 21yo guys get heavy minutes.

And Igoudala is 3rd in Net Rating.

Wait, a human being who prefers to keep his private life private? In 2021? It's like a throwback special.
Weird, I’ve heard of another Steve Kerr that also coaches a professional basketball team. Are you two related?
Identical twins separated at birth, coincidentally given the same first name, and both with a very high BBIQ. 😁

I got the Moderna booster on top of J&J. No reaction at all on the Moderna. Very content now.
Getting mine on tuesday!
Boosters have less vaccine in them right? I’m hoping my reaction will be lower with the booster :/
Yeah, like my Moderna booster was half the dosage of my 2nd Moderna shot
Anyways, only reaction I had to my Moderna booster was a sore arm.
How great would that be? Getting his resume closer and closer to Jordans each year...
How? Is that a joke?
Just checked further in the thread..someone photoshopped it in 🤣
And I thought it was just because of Steph's block party on Friday
