A huge shout out to one of my favorite basketball players Lauren Jackson, for being inducted into the HoF.
I grew up in Australia wishing to follow in the foot steps of LJ, play in the WNBA and be an all round bball dominator. But as my growth slowed to a foot shorter (slight embellishment, but close enough) and I lacked the ability to consistently get the basketball in the hoop, my dreams of becoming like LJ faded and I carried on with my (what has fortunately become) awesome life.
Her accolades as follows - 3 x WNBA MVP, 2 x WNBA champ, 1 x WNBA Finals MVP, 1 x WNBA DPoY, 7 x WNBA 1st Team!!!, named WNBA top 25 players of all time and I haven't even started on her Australian league awards, medals or overseas league awards. Ok since you ask here is some of the others....4 x Aus WNBL MVP, 4 x WNBL Finals MVP, 5 x WNBL Champ, 1 World Cup Gold, 3 Olympic silvers (thanks USA!) and 1 Olympic Bronze.
This woman is one of the most outstanding basketball players of our generation and it has been an absolute privilege to follow her journey. Congrats LJ15!!
This is the most miserable time of the year for me sports wise. My timeline replete with NFL related tweets. Wish someone else like Beale would tee off and demand a trade so the speculation could carry me over to the beginning of NBA training camp.
Welcome to the Breakfast Club. Basketball detention on a Sunday. Camp needs to get started soon. I started looking at prospects in the 2022 draft last night. I've listened to the last 3 Warriors' Plus Minus podcasts 30 times each. I'm desperate for a Woj bomb. 2024 Salary Cap projections anyone?
