I've been intrigued by Ryan Taylor on the Santa Cruz Warriors ever since I watched him have a big game in that Dubble scrimmage. After today's game, he ends the G League regular season shooting 43% on 5 attempts a game. He put up the same numbers last season.
And unlike Mulder, he's 6'6 and can seemingly hit his free throws. Admittedly, I don't know much about his defense. But I assumed they didn't bring him in last training camp because they wanted to see if his shooting in his first G League season was a fluke. So now that he's shown consistently elite shooting in the G League, perhaps they give him a training camp spot.
From what I've seen though, Jessup is a more versatile shooter than both Taylor and Mulder, so I think he might already be taking Mulder's spot next season. But Taylor (and Mulder) would be eligible for a two-way.
I ca't see Griffin on the Warriors. Aside from the fact that he looks done, the Warriors would have to jettison a useful player to create a roster spot. At this point, Paschall is at least as good, so where is the upgrade?
Thanks for the reminder and chronology of that great rivalry. I call it great cuz the Warriors came out clear winners. I wouldn't sign Blake, tho; if the Dubs are going to go the route of getting a PF/small-ball center, I'd rather have Bjelica. Blake is a ghost in the shell of his former self, especially athletically. But in Detroit he did expand his game, developing his 3p shot and offensive facilitation. He carried them two seasons ago but then got injured, again, right before the playoffs. I think he was taking this season off until he gets traded, kind of like Dray last season, so his numbers don't tell the whole story and wherever he goes will be getting a decent veteran.
I agree Griffin looks washed, and he has been injured a lot. He wouldn't bring us much, just take time from developing Paschall and maybe JTA. I'd rather take a chance on Cousins - and no, I don't want to do that either. So hard pass. As an aside, when he went to Detroit I figured fine, rivalry over, he's in the East, luck to him. Later I realized I didn't mean it. I still don't like him. But I don't want him because I don't think he's what we need.
Never really cared about Blake honestly, CP3 was the #1 bad guy in LA at the time just because he's an annoying little wasp. That "rivalry" definitely ended once Steph made him dance like he was in You Got Served in their own house though. I think Blake can revive his career and play decent basketball especially on a team like the Nets. He might not be able to create his shot at a respectable efficiency anymore but I have a feeling he'll do well on a team with 3 other guys that commands so much attention to a point where he'll be shooting wide open 10 footers all game. I initially was a fan of #BLAKE2THEBAY but there's really just no fit for him on this team without getting rid of Paschall.
My initial thought on Blake is no, but I've seen a number of players who were deemed "washed" go to a new team and excel. Seems other teams are higher on his list anyway.
Clippers vs Warriors are some great memories. Rivalries like that you don't too much see anymore. Miss it quite a bit.
On the other hand I always thought Draymond admitting to having a problem with Steph and CP being friends weird, especially when you look at the rivalry they had with LeBron and his own relationship with him. Players know how to turn it off and compete.
Griffin was a major annoyance at one point, but he's become a nothing as far as the Ws are concerned. Golden State went to five straight finals, while Griffin did... nothing of consequence. He's got his bag, so it's all good. But I never think of the guy.
As for having him as a W, what purpose would he serve? He can probably still score, but I don't think he can play at the speed this team wants to play at, nor does he defend. Hard pass.
Looks like we dodged the Blake bullet.

I’d rather sign Peter Griffin.
Barf
Fun fact:
Kelly Oubre dunks this season (35 games): 66
Blake Griffin dunks since 2019: zero.
Heck to the no on Blake.
Next year’s starting 5:
Curry-Thompson-Oubre-Green-*Towns*
Next year’s death lineup:
Curry-*Lowry*-Thompson-Oubre-Green
Bench after Lowry: Looney, Lee, Bazemore, JTA, Chriss, Poole, Mannion, Jessup.
Don’t ask me to show my work. :-)
OT Just seeing that the Lakers have waived Quinn Cook for the 2nd time this season.

Hard pass. I’d rather watch JTA play any day, and I don’t even think JTA is good.

He looks physically completely washed.

Still annoyed, unforgiving, and unrepentant. For the love of David Lee, no.
