Voting for G. Just based on the financials of the draft and the fact that large mammals patrolling the paint with limited skill sets are dramatically devalued. While athletic 4’s who can guard and stretch are at a premium

Also voting for G based on the weight issues for B and at least from the HS stats point of view, G looks like a pretty good player.

If B truly didn’t seem to want it when the scouts showed up that is a red flag for me, plus the weight issues and being closer to 6-10 and still 3 bills...

G sounds great, but despite Apricot saying he is not pulling a fast one, I am going to pass on both. Drive and passion is everything to me in a big.

G sounds fantastic, and feels like an easy winner.

The potential weakness around competitive edge / commitment is something which the Warriors coaching staff have shown to help players with. And on a team with Draymond pretty sure you’ll get that going.

Interesting aside on Wiseman. Not sure if people saw him interviewed on the Jump with Pippen and Paul Pierce but he didn’t come off well. His answers were rushed and he pretty much interrupted each question. Can’t judge too hard off two minutes, and maybe nerves but he didn’t come off well.

G over B. B's weight is pretty concerning and some character & BBIQ flags in the scouting. Feels like bull case is Barkley/Zion type (but bigger), but bear case is like Eddy Curry/Anthony Bennet. G seems pretty enticing, but there's a small character flag around lack of edge/fire... Could be similar issues of failing to achieve potential a la Wiggins so far, which given the talent, still gives you a good core player (maybe even All-Star level), even if it's not enough to be a winning franchise player. Best case is that he's a Curry/Duncan type, where they might come off as nice/humble, but are also deeply driven/competitive.

G - Can play 3-5, 8.1 blocks per game, excellent footwork, plays with both hands.

um yes please

I'd have to go with G as he is far more polished scoring with his back to the basket as well as demonstrating range. Not to mention, he can play defense according to the report. He might be the 3 and D center that I'm convinced is the future of the NBA. Pass on B, what I see is athleticism/strength but also weight problems. I never want to pick a player solely on their athletic profile I want a further demonstration of skill and I dont see enough of that with B.

G. Same reason as "D over A" - basketball is a slim man's game.

Pass on B. I don't like a guy who's that big who only gets 9 rebounds a game in high school.

G is a no brainer.

Ugh, this is hard. I hate player B’s size vs HS stat lines. That’s total trash for someone that big in HS. I am curious about assists in these stat lines too.

G seems too good to be true, but I guess I’d have to select him.

From the scouting reports, player G seems like clearly the better pick:

1. Weight. As Truckeeman said last time, basketball is not a fat man's game. 290lb is pretty hefty even at 6'11". It's not quite as much of a deal-breaker in the pre-2015 game as it is today, but among other things the injury risk is higher. G's 243 lbs is a lot more reasonable.

2. B's statline of 22 pt / 9 reb / 6 blk is pretty clearly worse than G's 25 pt / 18 reb / 8 blk per game.

3. Accolades. That's a longer list of accomplishments already for G.

That makes me wonder if Mr. Apricot is throwing us a curveball or if this is supposed to be easy. Maybe the potential lack of drive mentioned in G's scouting reports is supposed to be prophetic; maybe it's a red herring.

One stat I don't see here that I like to look at (yes, even for big men) is FT%. That's a skill that translates well to the pros, is predictive of other abilities, and is relevant for all players especially in crunch situations. The fact that B's good(?) free throwing is mentioned in two scouting reports is promising; the fact that G's isn't mentioned is mildly concerning. There are plenty of excellent players with mediocre free throw skills, so it's not the only factor to think about, but I find it pretty useful as a tiebreaker when on the fence about two similar players.

In any case, G still seems like the obvious pick, so I'll stick with that.
