I was sorry for how Barnes' tenure in Golden State ended, but they did not ship him out. As you say, they offered him a great contract at the beginning of the year, and he turned it down. His performance late in that finals sealed his fate.
That said, I've got nothing against the guy. He seems like a genuinely good person. But this time, I hope Wiggins totally outshines him.
Just watched the Thunder vs Timberwolves on delay.... I don't know if I've seen Anthony Edwards play a good game against anyone other than the Warriors. Also, generally: blech. Is it Saturday yet? Can the varsity play now?
For context, OKC plays like a #9 seed; these aren't the playoffs, and OKC doesn't play like a playoff team, because OKC wouldn't make the playoffs. They are a feisty, streaky bad team that doesn't know how to win consistently in the NBA, at all. Also, SGA might legitimately have a concussion.
Last game, the Timberwolves were missing two starters, and their coach kept taking KAT out of the game because he, um, didn't want to have KAT out of the game. They aren't good, but they were going to be hard pressed tonight to be as bad as they were against the Lakers....
Either way, 1-8 is going to be a short series featuring stupefyingly bad decision-making and fragile team chemistry.
The Kings didn't run that much pick and roll in the regular season but were 4th in the league in pick and roll efficiency because Fox/Sabonis is a nice combination.

On Barnes… he went from overrated to forgotten. He’s a solid 3-4th option on a championship squad, and he’s versatile enough to stay on the floor in just about any lineup configuration. We’re a little too hard on him because a) we tanked to get him, b) we started him as a rookie over Rush, Jefferson, and Draymond, and c) he was awful in his second Finals series. And while being replaced by Kevin freaking Durant might be a no-brainer, it doesn’t flatter Barnes. A Lexus looks pretty nice parked next to Toyotas and Fords, but it becomes a humble commuter when a Maserati rolls by.

Playoff basketball is a different sport than regular season basketball. As inexperienced as the Wolves are, they’re ancient compared to the Thunder.
-KAT is not in foul trouble, which is allowing him to do whatever he wants
-Edwards isn't getting pressured by the opposing team's defense anymore.
-OKC doesn't have any true centers, allowing KAT and Gobert to bully Thunder.
