It was the best of times, it was the worst of times…Worried about game 7, but the rest of the playoffs are pretty watchable. Loving the Knicks/Heat so far (go Jimmy Buckets! Go Mavs survivor, Jalen B!) Boston/Philly should be fun if Embiid can get back, but will still be cheering on Sixers (Harden’s) downfall. And last night’s tromping of the Suns was especially delightful.
if we come correct tomorrow and play like HOW WE SHOULD, i feel good about us. historically we have played our best ball when our backs are against the wall. even in losses we fought to the bitter end. i don’t expect us to go out like chumps tomorrow. not with steph, klay and dray leading the charge.
it’s not just the shooting that bothers me. dudes body language is just awful. gives me no confidence when one of the guys on your team that’s supposed to play a crucial role acts like that
14 hours to game that has soo fucking much riding on it, a loss has to equal major changes, I'm down for a title this year or a loss to a likeable team in the kings and a system change, I do not want to see us make the same mistakes and lose to lebron, jokic or soft ass tatum
When you have a player like Steph Curry on your team, your chances increase and the coach's reliance on him also increases. This is a double edged sword as it compromises the playmaking overall and too often focuses on Curry as The Man. He's already the man and we need to make sure all our assets are involved and contributing. Curry will get his but if the focus on him is lopsided, then we suffer. Kerr can't keep expecting the heroic comebacks we've had ala Curry/Splash Bros. They need major contributions from the other players. Look at that game 5 victory. Draymond scoring like a new acquisition. Feed him, set him up, make him a shooter. Make sure Wiggins has a 20+ game and get Poole to focus on ball control or get the ball out of his hands. I don't care if he doesn't score 20+ but I do care if he loses possessions due to carelessness and bad decision making. Get some height into the game with Kuminga. He can be useful. That's why he's on the team, Kerr, for you to use him and make sure he succeeds.
I do think Steph started majority of the games in the series deferring...seeing if Klay and Wiggs could get going first. I think Game 1 he didn't attempt a shot until the end of the quarter; the last game they fell behind trying to get the others going first. I agree they need to do a better job setting up everyone, if they limit who initiates the offense that would help them get better offense as well. They have JP playing point a lot, especially while Steph sits. In a unit with JP next to Wiggs and Klay, Steve may need to run actual sets, to make sure each is featured. Wiggs (partly on him, has to stay aggressive and call his own number more) is never featured in these instances. There was also a number of plays where they didn't involve Klay in the action, he was on the side watching JP and DDV launch threes. After a while if you go a number of plays not even involving Klay's side of the court, he is launching the next time he touches the ball. I'm just hoping the Dubs come out and play with energy, effort and their brains from the jump.
Draymond's scoring is usually opportunistic. It's not so much that they feed him or set him up as that he sees an opening and takes it. He's not a shooter.
I would like to see Kuminga get some minutes if he can contribute on defense, help on the boards, and penetrate and get to the rim rather than gunning from distance.
I also think Nuggets have a real chance at the whole enchilada. Jokic, of course. But also: Jamal Murray. Wait I'm not done. OPJ, Aaron Gordon, KCP, Brown, that's a complete team.
A lot of it is on Kerr. He seemed lost for most of the season trying to figure out what works and what doesn't. Then add on the road losses. This is a coaching problem. Kerr has had a golden opportunity with the Warriors. Now the going is getting tough and he still hasn't got a set game plan that is consistent. He's too reliant on the core 3 to get by any opponent. This ship is leaking even if we win this series................
I agree kerr has been bad this year, I wonder how the kings can afford to play players like trey lyles , Alex len, can't make a shot 6'2 davion Mitchell, almost out the league Terrance Davis, but somehow kerr believes playing moody or kuminga is a guarantee loss. Are those 3 kings players really better then kuminga or moody? I've seen kuminga play heavy minutes in a important playoff seeding game against the pelicans and be the best player on the court while CJ McCollum, Ingram, curry, and Klay Thompson were playing. I've seen kuminga take over in the fourth in important games(high intensity) and will us to victory with focus and determination, but now the game is too fast for him?
Kerr is a formula guy. Has he always been like this or is it just more apparent this season with the talent or lack thereof from the support players. Wins are no longer assured. They need some innovation and fight.
Jokic, Gordon, Porter, Murray, KCP is really a nice starting 5. Bruce Brown is a good bench guy. After that they seem pretty thin, but maybe that's enough with a young group. If Warriors end up losing, I'll probably be rooting for a Nuggets Celtics final.
Dang, Nuggets had +17 FGAs than the Suns. They also had 9 more threes made, -2 FTAs, +11 total rebounds (+8 off.), and -7 turnovers. The player with the most amount of turnovers? Kevin Durant with 7 turnovers.
HEY, when we get by Kings, I'm sure glad it is the Lollakers...hopefully Nuggets and Suns will wear each other down....right now, Denver is on their game...SUNS shot 51 percent from the floor to Nuggets' 47, but, got off 101 shots to SUNS' 84 shots, outrebounded SUNS 58-41 WITH a 16-8 OR edge. NUGGETS outshot 16-37 on 3s for 43 percent to SUNS' 7-23 for 30.4 percent. SUNS had 16 TOs/KD WITH 7, while NUGGETS had only 7 TO's...DENVER HAD AN 18-7 POT EDGE...TOTAL DOMINANCE....
Holy Sugar, Denver running Suns off the floor. Their pace reminds me a lot of Steph/Klay/Barnes/Dray/Andre/Lee running and gunning, back in their younger days when MALONE was MJAX's assistant....of course it all began with lockdown defense from Dray/Klay/Andre/Barnes, followed by quick outlet passes to the flanks/immediate transition to leaking players....
Nooooo! Not Jimmy!!

I think I am going to chicken our and not watch the game live. May be too stressful.
Hold down the fort all the while I will be curled up in a ball waiting for the game to be over.

Gonna be real quiet in Sacramento in a couple of hours.
One good thing that happened in the NBA is that the Suns LOST! Thank you Denver.
Nessun dorma, nessun dorma ...
....
All'alba vincerò!
vincerò, vincerò!
Does anyone have the url for Denver Nation HQ?

Poole is shooting 24% from three, 41% from two, and 77% from the line in this series lol. At least he's a lockdown defender.
Donte is around the same lol

YEAR AGE BASE SALARY
2023-24 24 $27,455,357
2024-25 25 $29,651,786
2025-26 26 $31,848,215
2026-27 27 $34,044,642
Must be inflation because infrequent, streaky volume shooting and no defense is worth star money now

Basketbum in playoff mode I see you
Nuggets are impressive they have everything to go all the way, but it’s still just game 1
I also think Nuggets have a real chance at the whole enchilada. Jokic, of course. But also: Jamal Murray. Wait I'm not done. OPJ, Aaron Gordon, KCP, Brown, that's a complete team.
I'm super concerned because if we can't outscore the fucking kings, how are we going to outscore the nuggets on the road.
Idk something shifted cause last year you couldn't pay me a million dollars to believe we could lose to the nuggets

Not to add pressure on the Dubs, but they have to win tomorrow for one team from each number seed to advance to the second round.
Nuggets beat the Suns 125-107.
