If you think the Heat are good now, wait till the Greek Freak joins them. They're the new dynasty. I'm afraid the Warriors' window is closed the moment Durant left. Their cap situation doesn't give them any room to either add another superstar or fill out with great supporting cast.

The warrior's need to trade down with knicks get a future 1st and draft vassell.vassell is as good a shooter as Tyler herro and defends better. Drafting him at 8 would mean he gets to be a 2nd unit player and can develop. He shot 44% 3pt in college and over 40% from 3pt in 2 consecutive years. Has a midrange game and a very good defensive IQ.dont waste the lottery pick on some 7ft with no lateral quickness who will get played off the floor in the playoffs.. we need shooters. The heat has more spacing because they don't have a draymond that every team sags off from..its simple get more shooters who can hit wide open shots because splash brothers will take up the attention of the defense

Heat by far my favorite team thru the playoffs. One thing that I think warrants mention is that their spacing actually looks a bit better than the Warriors (not an absolute, but a fair bit of the time). I like that they run a lot of actions out further (ie near the three point line). A lot of times, the Warriors were running things just a bit closer in which really makes it harder to free up the good shots

Love analyses like this with the thorough video evidence.

Denver is still my favorite of the remaining teams, but Miami is neat, too. It's been so fascinating to watch Jimmy Butler's whole saga these past few years. While his whole blow-up in Minnesota was unprofessional and bitter, I can't help but kind of want to take his side. And certainly, his success on Philly and Miami while the T-Wolves flounder has given credence to the accusation that KAT and Wiggins just weren't trying very hard.

It's a complicated feeling with Wiggins on the Warriors now. I had completely written him off and wanted nothing to do with the guy. But after seeing him step into his role on the team, a tentative hope sprung up. The environment shapes a player's attitude so much, it would no longer be that surprising if both players bloomed outside their original environment. 'Quese is another example: left for dead in Phoenix, now one of the most exciting young players in San Francisco. (God, it still feels weird that the arena is in the City and not the Town.)

Nice analysis. As someone who hasn't watched a ton of NBA basketball this year, it inclines me to be more pro-Heat than I've been in the past.

One possible nit: It's true that on the recent Ws squads, Curry and Durant were the superstars, but I think Klay still deserves a mention. When the chips have been down, that guy has turned up big -- and he does his job without all of the drama associated with certain no-longer-Warriors...

Great analysis. Here's a fantastic report on Duncan Robinson and the amount of care and development the Heat put into making him successful:

The Heat also have confounded opponents with their defense - another hallmark of the Dynasty Warriors. Now, if the Dubs can select a Bam in the draft, or develop a Robinson from the undrafteds...

Excellent breakdown, Joe! Do you think they will be able to continue their winning ways against Lebron & Cie? Lakers are stepping up BIG.
