Hey Daniel, I noticed this from the “enraged Rockets fans” link:

“In the draft, the team secured a potential future Andre Iguodala successor in Jacob Evans III, a versatile wing with ball handling skills and shooting ability.”

Maybe it’s time for an updated “My worst take”? 😂

A bit of noise on the buy out market with possible buy out of Otto Porter and freeing him up for a potential signing with GS.

Interested to hear what y’all think of that fit?

I think we could use another veteran on the second unit. And could trial him as a fit for next year. But haven’t watched him a lot so don’t really know his game.

Only obvious draw back is cutting a player to make the room.

The more I read about the Rockets' owner (Fertitta), the more I realize that Harden was only part of the story regarding their demise. Harden had his issues with feuds and his playstyle, but Fetitta bought the team in 2017 and since then he was on a money-saving spree, made only worse by the pandemic for somebody also heavily invested in the restaurant and casino business.

> The Rockets have not once paid the luxury tax under Fertitta. They have, in fact, taken a number of aggressive steps in the opposite direction to avoid it despite having a contending roster. In the summer of 2018, they let starting small forward Trevor Ariza leave for nothing on a one-year deal after coming a game away from the NBA Finals. At the 2019 trade deadline, they gave away a first-round pick to get off of the final season of Brandon Knight's deal while also frantically cutting salary, including James Ennis, to duck under the tax line. There were theoretical ways for the Rockets to add more money at the 2020 trade deadline as well, but they chose not to.

For the record, not defending Harden, still dislike his playstyle... but taking a step back and seeing the bigger picture and just appreciating all that Lacob has been willing to spend.

Hearing Steph say that Harden didn't like playing Houston's style softens me a bit toward him.

Aside from Wiseman, Poole, and Paschall, Mannion certainly looks like he can stick as a backup PG and if Jessup shoots in the NBA anything like what he is doing in the NBL, the Warriors will have another young catch-and-shoot wing player. Baring some sort of blockbuster trade, the Warriors problem for the off season is figuring out which of the players on the margin, like JTA, they can afford to keep around.

I'm hoping their losing streak reaches 27 straight - just something about that number :)
