Trade Poll 2023.11. Klay for Beal
GSW gets Bradley Beal
WAS gets Klay Thompson
via Jay Williams and others
Apricot says: I object to this on emotional grounds, but… WAS gets an expiring Klay Thompson contract to get off the Beal mega-contract. GSW gets a dynamic shot creator that on offense fits nicely in a Steph - Beal - Wiggins - Dray - Looney lineup. Certainly some questions about Beal’s defense, but perhaps it would improve when he’s not having to create all the offense.
If GSW really wanted this deal, they would likely have to add in pick(s) and young guy(s).

Apricot says: This one might stir up some emotions, but it does make some sense on paper. CP3 would become the veteran backup point guard. He has somewhere between 2 and negative 1 years left in the tank. He is a basketball genius and usually gets an upwards spike in performance when he arrives on a team (he wears out his welcome over the next 2+ years). He also has a lot of scammy ingredients to his game.
CP3 is owed 1 year of $30.8M but only $15.8M is guaranteed. This is one way to get off Poole’s contract without giving up hope for next season.
Woj was free-associating a PHX waiving CP3 scenario, but I cannot understand why PHX would do that. In that scenario, CP3 would join GSW as a free agent.

The Warriors send Jordan Poole to the Magic for Cole Anthony & Jon Isaac and a swap in the 2023 Draft 🔥
Should the Magic buy low on Jordan Poole? 🤔
Who says no?
Apricot says: ORL gets their PG of the future, GSW gets a cheap backup point guard and a perpetually injured (and polarizing) big. In this draft #11 doesn’t get you into the star tier, but the second tier has some pretty enticing players that won’t make it to #19.

Trade Poll 2023.10. Jordan Clarkson
GSW gets
Jordan Clarkson
2025 MIN 1st
UTA gets
Jordan Poole
The trade was proposed by DNHQ commenter Alas, who says:
Trading Places: Jordan Poole to Utah for Jordan Clarkson + 2025 1st Rd pick via MIN. Same player, but Clarkson a little more consistent and hasn't been punched by Dray .... yet. Utah does it because they liked the fit with Clarkson and they can have that for the next 4 years with Poole. They have a ton of picks, so letting one go to take a chance on Poole as a building block is a good play. GS does it because we get the same player who would be a little more reliable/predictable, also has made a living coming off the bench which has proved problematic with Poole. 1 year rental, Lester should take his spot in the lineup after that. It's also 14.4 million off the cap.

If we're going to go crazy with trades, what about just a straight swap of Jordan Poole for DeAndre Ayton (we might need to sweeten it with a first or two, and/or Lamb, Rollins or Moody to match salaries).
I'm not sure this is a valid trade, but spotrac's trade machine says yes.
(edit: so does fanspo's, though I don't think it really is valid under the new CBA).
We get a center. Probably would be played off the court in the playoffs, but during the regular season, he could be an innings-eater to keep Looney and Draymond fresh.
Suns get a backup/emergency PG to supplement Paul (assuming they re-sign him). They also get rid of a guy that seems none too happy to be playing for them.
We need to find a new backup PG, they need to find a new center (but have KD for the playoffs).
Note: I'm on record as not wanting to trade any of the young guys and still feel that way. This is proposed as an alternative to the Middleton trade below. Your mileage may vary. Definitely not sold in any stores.
Cole Anthony is a nice low efficiency PG that gets a bit selfish at times to replace Poole, and Jonathan Issac can help the legend of Celebrini grow. Plus moving up 8 picks sounds nice. Would much prefer Fultz over Anthony if trading with the Magic though.
