Late to the party here, but I have always coveted, and believed Thaddeus Young would make an excellent Warrior. Thad, hands down, for size and grit and veteran leadership. Then Barton, because he always kills us. Addition by subtraction.

Covington for sure.

Bob myers had the opportunity to snap Covington in the Dlo trade. Instead he took an overbloated untradeable contract and now everyone is shouting about Roco again. People suffer for their numbness.. I'm not sure Rockets will let go of Roco so I choose not to engage in this pipe dream

This has nothing to do with not picking Covington up for DLO. In this case, if the Rockets would be willing, Covington would be my choice over every other player mentioned in A,B,C, & D categories. He fills a need and is the best available player, IMO, if he is available.

As far as Wiggins goes, he remains an asset that the Warriors can trade in the future. 20+ ppg is an asset. Is he the best asset? No, but an asset he is. I'm even willing to trade Draymond for Covington, if needs be.

I don't remember that being the case. Cause Roco was considered a positive asset, Wiggins, not so much. I mean, maybe that's true if we threw in something that we clearly weren't going to.

I like Covington a lot - but I think Barton is much more 'getable' since Denver is overloaded with young talent and they aren't going to be getting rid of Porter. I am curious why Barton's age, etc. wasn't given.

Haha, I just forgot :)

RoCo w/ the track record over Barton... Not confident he can play a lot of SF as he ages, but imagine being able to put him and Dray on LeBron/Davis or PG/Kawhi

Covington for sure in this group.

That said, of guy's on the Rockets, I almost wonder if PJ Tucker is the more gettable player. The Rockets are just very interesting. Pending what happens with the salary cap next year, they could be a tax team that's not quite a top 5 title contender. They might just try to get off PJ Tucker, get an asset, have the TPE, and see how things go. If they're in a good spot they could use the TPE in season to add on.

I think Houston's probably too smart to leave the keys to the Tuck Wagon where we could get our hands on them, but then again, they have made more head-scratching decisions than that in the recent past. He seems like a tough and smart player I wouldn't mind having on the Dubs.

And agreed, this is a pretty strong group. Covington seems to check all the boxes we need, so he's my first pick, but Barton is also a fantastic option. I've got family in Denver, though, so the Nugs are kind of like my backup team, and I'm less motivated to poach talent from them. ;)

I couldn't stand to watch many of the games this year. They were sloooow.

I did watch Cov crush the Dubs once or twice. So that's who I pick.

Give me Will Barton! He could thrive in GS.

Gay and Young are declining. The Warriors need athleticism, not aging vets. Gay would absolutely not work in a ball-movement environment.

Covington would be great, but I like Barton far more as a two-way player.

I like Denver a lot too. I hadn't ever paid much attention to them until I saw them play the Dubs in Denver in KD's first season. [A Christmas present from my child]. KD, Steph and co. had just finished beating, I believe, OKC and the Rockets a few days earlier and they had nothing in this game. I think Steph made one 3 point shot and KD had one massive dunk. So that was pretty much the Dubs highlights. Klay wasn't even on the bench. Denver on the other hand was ready to slay the dragon that night. They had just traded Nurkic to Portland earlier in the day and they looked fantastic. I believe they set a league record at the time for most made 3s in a game. And their long Spanish power forward [brother plays for Charlotte], who rarely gets off the bench even now, made 6 of them. The Warriors couldn't buy a 3 that night. My child was pissed. LOL
