It's likely small sample size, but the Dubs have been pretty bad defending on the two-point shot thus far. On the season, opponents have shot 64.8% on twos. League average in '24-25 was 54.7%. It seemed like the Blazers were getting layup after layup tonight, but their two-point percentage was 57.6% (34/59), a little higher than last year's league average. It was much rougher against Denver: 63.6% (35/55) and the Lakers: 75.6% (34/45).
Should I be mad at Jimmy for only being 3-7 from the field in 27 minutes? For one thing the stat is distorted because he went 8-10 FT. But when he came from Miami I thought he was going to be way more of an aggressive shot taker when necessary. I dunno.
I am starting to wonder about his fitness level. As Cap'n' Jack said, Steph looks way more energetic. This was also a thing in the Minnesota playoff series. Damn near catastrophic to lose Steph, but then I'm looking at Jimmy and he's putting up 7-10 shots. Seems like a fitness or morale issue, no?
I think there's no question that Steph is in the top 3 (probably top 1) best conditioned active NBA players. I'm guessing he's top 5 ever, frankly. He's just a freakazoid at preparation.
JB is not. He seems like he has a much more normal level of preparation, and he's probably not in midseason condition yet.
I guess the refs aren't calling discontinued dribble anymore. Richard did it blatantly right there. I mean, I get it, the game was over anyway, but that was blatant.
I'm a little annoyed that the young Dubs didn't get to prove their mettle earlier when the score was still manageable. I bet they could have given the Trailblazers a run for their money.
Maybe but I think this was the Blazers' night, and the young Dubs weren't going to change that. Blazers shot 47.1% from 3, and they're not known as a 3-point shooting team. Still, given it was the SEGABABA, we might as well have let the kids run more.
Maybe. But I think if Coach Kerr just let them play much earlier, the young Dubs could have done their best and given their all to make it close at the least.
Post-game wrap up.

Ha - I made this exact point in the PGT. Great minds?
Very interesting lineup the last minute or so of the first quarter - Butler, Moody, Podz, Spencer, and Richard. They too small, Ernie
I think I’d rather have Horford against the Clippers than Memphis
Only JK and Steph have showed up to every game so far. Podz has had a bad start.
Podz has lowkey been getting smoked defensively on ball to start the year
I think opposing teams are taking advantage of his lack of height.
Some of it is height but I notice he’s been pretty slow at the POA and has been getting blown by with relative ease

That seems a bit harsh. He was playing hard and out of his mind the night before. and the most minutes.
To me this game was just a tough matchup after two marquee games, and a SEGABABA where the first game had an overtime. Just flush it and move on.

How did the 37 year old look less tired than him

JB has 5 more inches to carry.
and Steph has 30 extra miles to run
Watching any non Steph and Jimmy Warrior player trying to dribble is hard to watch
Just one of those games tbh, onto the next back to back we go. (Early prediction: we blow out memphis and lose to the clips)
Nah, we take the climps. It's personal. Ideally toss some saplings on the floor at halftime.
JK had some excellent rebounds. I’m content.
And was 7-7 from the stripe.
this. I wasn't sure we would see this day.
He's secretly participating in ft contest.
Blazers have a Sunday-Monday b2b LAC-LAL. Lakers always seem to get teams on the second half rather than first half of the LA back to backs
I'm going to have some German chocolate cake to help me feel better. And rewatch last night's game.
Moods writing checks his atheticism can't cash lol

Announcer said that the last time Portland scored at least 130 over the Warriors was … 2016.
Lakers and Clippers going ham on their opponents tonight.
