Ominous words for Oubre’s future from Steve Kerr.

My guess is they want someone who's signed, who takes the wildcard out of the offseason. The fear is they ride with Oubre and the offseason comes and they got to go to Lacob hat in hand with a $20mm deal because the wing market was hot with few options.

Bogdanovic would be my guess.

I agree, Janet. But realistically, he's a huge cost because of the cap tax. The salaries of the "Big 4" are so enormous that there's little room to pay Oubre what he should command in the market. We're going to have to sit by - meanwhile, enjoy the entertainment value of Steph and the Young Guys

Yeah, I like Oubre, but he’s not worth over $100M a year.

I bet they keep the salary slot. Where they have a problem is Oubre's price could go up a lot after this year.

Thanks PMC.

Interesting quote from Steve regarding rotations: “roles aren’t as clearly defined……so we’re looking at different groups, so we’ve just been searching and we gotta keep going”.

It easy to take for granted the skill it takes as a coach to shape a team and define roles for players. I feel Steve is learning as a HC how to do this, he stepped into a team that had been shaped by Mark Jackson and was almost ready to go. This is a whole new challenge for him.
