I always thought he was talented. Just raw during the draft and IIRC the knock on him was something about his off court behavior. Don't remember though. I didn't want him at 7 but he was definitely on my wish list at 14.
To be clear, I'm not claiming credit. When he was coming out of college, he was a really good rebounder/shot blocker with great passing instincts along with serious athleticism.
However, he's not become a good rebounder/shotblocker on the NBA level (though he's a good passer this year). So, my analysis would have not been relevant.
I'm just frustrated at seeing Steph struggle so much and our young players lack the ability to relieve his burden. I really hope Podz figures out how to score more consistently like he did toward the end of last year, we need him to figure it out.
A lot of people were shocked that SGA was included (in addition to the picks), but getting George was a pre-condidtion of getting Kawhi, so OKC could get whatever they wanted from the Clips.
Having said that, even with an injured Kawhi, there's no excuse for the Clippers to be tank-level. At worst, they should be struggling at .500 like the Warriors.
Hot take, but I think the Warriors could be involved in an AD-to-Clippers trade. The Mavs want picks and young players, the Clippers don't have them. Not sure if there would be have to be 4+ teams, but JK might fit in there somewhere. The problem is, outside of Zubac (who's of course untouchable), who would we want from the Clippers? So maybe 4+ teams involved.
(Niederhauser might be a good backup big for the Warriors, but I think Dallas would want him. But maybe the Warriors could get Gafford?)
Clips got crushed tonight by Miami 140-123. Miami starters scored 117 points. Kawhi was still great - 36 points in 30 minutes, +8. But Clips were -25 in non-Kawhi minutes, and Harden stunk up the joint - 11 points, 5 turnovers, -39! in 20 minutes
It's looking like a trainwreck now, and was definitely an overpay even if you allow for not really thinking Shai would become this Shai, but the Clippers did give themselves a window of contention for a title.
They made some smart moves around the edges (Harden, Powell, getting Zubac a few months before they got Kawhi) that really gave them a shot. It mostly failed due to health. You can argue about how much they should have anticipated that.
But, yes, I wouldn't want to be looking at what they are going to be doing for the next few years.
Besides the Clippers 26 1R pick swap, they also have swap rights to the Clippers 27 1R pick, Jazz 26 1R pick swap and with the sixers 26 1R pick or swap. They could have 3 picks in the lottery.
At least we're not the Clippers, down 36 to the Heat in the 3rd. Ty Lue waves the white flag 2 minutes into the 3rd. It's disgusting OKC has their pick(unprotected) this year and a pick swap next year. They could end up with Peterson/Dybantsa/Boozer.
Well, I was right about the heart part...lol...now, if he has moved it to HOUSTON, he either has it at the PORT OF HOUSTON, which I doubt...most-likely at GALVESTON/CLEARLAKE AREA...
Suns defeat the Lakers without having Booker for 3 quarters .
Luka with a near triple double - 38 points, 11 rebounds, 9 turnovers
Giants Kicker Koo had an even worse day than the Clippers:
https://youtube.com/shorts/stzZ8RtuA98?si=cFw9Zr-RbCTSMW7m
Colin Gillespie has made 8/12 3 pts and has 26 pts against the lakers!!!!
Lakers seem to know exactly when not to help the Warriors. 🙄
Dillon Brooks has 33 points on 15/25 FGs. What in the world?
Jazz beat the Rockets
so you are saying that the warriors have a chance against OKC tomorrow
Mavs are going to beat the Nuggets. Weird scores in the association tonight.
Mavs rookie Nembhard had 28 points, 4-5 on threes, and 10 assists.
LJ Cryer might put up something like this if given the run
Undrafted. On a 2-way
MAVS SHOT 51 PERCENT 16/31 FROM DEEP...
AD 32-13
KLAY 50 ON 5/10FG - 60 ON 3/5DEEP - 50 ON 2/4 FTS...15 PTS in 23 min PT, 5 REBS, +4
2nd game in a row KIDD closed with KLAY on the floor...BOTH WINS
Lakers give up a big run :)
Big run is 90% Dillon Brooks :/
suns dont look half bad - their size and hustle bothering the lakers
Houston down 16 to the Jazz (late 3rd)
Here comes the Rockets....
Yeah the Rockets might make it.
The Nuggets on the other hand . . .
Jalen Johnson doing so well has me sick. I wanted for us to pick him at 7.
I always thought he was talented. Just raw during the draft and IIRC the knock on him was something about his off court behavior. Don't remember though. I didn't want him at 7 but he was definitely on my wish list at 14.

Wizards beat the Bucks. Wat.
Bucks 1-7 in their last 8, but they play Detroit on Wednesday (at home at least), so 1-8 in 9?
Like the Pacers beating us.
Middleton revenge game?
The Paul George trade breakdown:
Thunder receive: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Danilo Gallinari, 2021 1st round pick (became Tre Mann), 2022 1st round pick (became Jalen Williams), 2023 1st round pick (became Jaime Jaquez Jr.), 2023 1st round pick swap, 2024 1st round draft pick (became Dillon Jones), 2025 1st round pick swap (with the Clippers), and 2026 1st round pick.
Clippers receive: Paul George
A lot of people were shocked that SGA was included (in addition to the picks), but getting George was a pre-condidtion of getting Kawhi, so OKC could get whatever they wanted from the Clips.

In theory, the Clippers did need another big. But trading Norm Powell looks like another big mistake by the front office.
It's looking like a trainwreck now, and was definitely an overpay even if you allow for not really thinking Shai would become this Shai, but the Clippers did give themselves a window of contention for a title.

Not sure we'll see a trade like that again.
Clips definitely won the Zubac trade - gave up Mike Muscala and got Zubac and Beasley from the Lakers.
Besides the Clippers 26 1R pick swap, they also have swap rights to the Clippers 27 1R pick, Jazz 26 1R pick swap and with the sixers 26 1R pick or swap. They could have 3 picks in the lottery.
That 2026 unprotected pick (in what’s supposed to be a fantastic draft at the top) is looking terrifying right now.
lol
Miami led by as many as 38 points tonight against the Clippers.
And their HERO is back...
And game ain't over.
Trades have consequences.
Seth Curry on the mike today: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bw3SKTUoj9Y
I hope he is fit and in good condition.
4 Clippers in double digits by the half...and they're down by 20 to the Heat.
Our old friend is on track for 17.
Finished with 22!
Yep, while shooting 63-50-100 with 7/2OR rebs 3 assists 3blks...in 25 mins..
Klay named his boat the SS Stallion. I love that for him. She seems like such a good fit for him.
Still keeps it in the BAY, or did he move it to CANYON LAKE or some other Texas LOCATION...his heart is where his boat is at...
I think his heart might be with Megan now.
You got it right...that is where his boat is also...lol
So, the chances of Klay coming back to the Bay is practically nil.
MEH, just a BAY gig for MEGAN away...
Boat says SS Stallion, Houston, Texas but Megan is from Houston.
Well, I was right about the heart part...lol...now, if he has moved it to HOUSTON, he either has it at the PORT OF HOUSTON, which I doubt...most-likely at GALVESTON/CLEARLAKE AREA...
