Credit to the short-handed Warriors. Playing the second game of a back-to-back (both of them with only eight players available) they just couldn’t quite muster enough to overcome the visiting Washington Wizards.
Well, the Warriors are probably happy to at least have gotten a split. One win per weekend would be a fantastic state of affairs given the way the season has gone to date.
With a season as rough as this one has been, Dub Nation has issued a temporary price reduction on street cred, and will now be accepting moral victories. Tonight, they managed to hang within four points up until halftime, before succumbing to an avalanche of three pointers.
Warriors shot 47% from the field, and went 9 of 28 from deep.
The Wizards, for their part, got absolutely scorching hot - 20 of 30 as a team from the three point line, led by Bradley Beal’s 7-9 performance.
Looking ahead, there’s light at the end of the tunnel… wait? Or are those just headlights headed right at us?
Jokes aside, Steph Curry will begin the final stage of his return tomorrow. I’m not sure how the G League squad will feel when Curry shows up to their Monday practice, but Golden State wants him to get some full court run in with actual basketball players; this puts his return as early as Thursday in all likelihood.
After this game I feel the more convinced that the back-to-back contributed in a big way to the Warriors win against Phoenix. There's just something in the air when you can feel a team is tired and things are not working out.
If it weren't for the increased injury risk, I'd say back-to-backs were good for the league because the extra adversity and chance for upsets is interesting! But nah, injuries are the worst part of basketball so anything that contributes to that sucks.
The Warriors might have a shot at an upset over the Sixers if Curry and Green are healthy and Simmons and Embiid are not. The Sixers will also be on the 4th game of a west coast road trip though with plenty of rest.
Ugly game. The wizards have some decent pieces in place starting with Beal, Bryant and Hachimura. I also really like Bertrans a lot, Spurs are dumb for letting him go. It’ll be interesting to see what the Wiz look like next year with Wall back..
"Hello, hello.....Is there anybody in here? Just laugh if you can hear me? Is there anyone home?"
I watch every game. I find the best thing to do after a beatdown is to put on a classic Warriors win. Game 5 and 6 of the 2019 semifinals are nice, but my favorite video, considering where we are as a franchise is Steph dropping 50 "Stephertlessly" with less than 30 shots.....each time! This video makes me GIDDY......ENJOY!
That was one of the worst games in GSW history. David Lee got suspended for the mini-brawl against Indy so Tyson Chandler spiked back countless bricks to JR Smith who launched a dagger every time to nullify what Steph just did the previous possession. Then there was the block from Raymond Fatboy that pretty much ended the game. Good thing 99% of the sporting world only remember Steph's career high that night.
Steve is a little optimistic. Getting "banged around a little bit" is fine. But the Sea Dubs need to MUG and FOULl him off ball on every play just to make it "semi-realistic" to NBA play.
There will be live, on court, misdemeanors occurring shortly....

A couple of "adult beverages " and I...eye....I, have become, comfortably numb." 😎
I want a cut of the MSG game whose audio is just the crowd groaning and yelling with unhappiness

what do you think about me erasing Luna's comments once I post them into the article?
I kinda want to keep the hearts with the OC effort. But I like the formatting that the main post body allows.
Thoughts?
As long as Luna is included. Servant of Luna creates continuity to the old site, much like you, Eric and Daniel do (My apologies if I missed anyone.)
Plus Luna is "The Bestest Princess," so we got that going for us.......which is nice! 😎
Yeah that's my concern. It's a pretty awesome service and I would HATE to step on Luna's toes in any way.
Is the label enough? Maybe we could mock up a little logo or something
Great idea.....Yes, a Princess logo would be perfect! Let Luna pick it and you are off and running......just like the 2021 Warriors! 😎
Posting the gif already kills me
Yeah it's fine Since everything posting reverse chronological
Waiting to hear from Luna...
Time to re-watch the Phoenix game to get this bad taste out of my mouth. 😎
They used to do that to Jeremy Lin as a rookie to get him used to getting mugged while the refs just look on.
Presumably they're also swallowing their whistles?
LOL!!
Sorry Steph, real NBA game conditions

And barely contain my excitement! 😎
*I can barely....see, I'm to excited to make a comprehensible post!
If I could post gifs, I'd post the Jennifer Lawrence 'OK' one

This is the best we can do until LGW starts using our $5.00 a little more "SERIOUSLY. " 😎
Hey GIFs are embedding okay if you use the bookmarklet!
Thanks Eric. I guess I will have to spend some time learning to use it.
