Cognitive Dissonance - It's for real. Night after, my brain is still trying to reconcile what just happened. May be it will last couple of days? Thoughts about 2016 are all but gone. 2019 still pops up every now and then.

"They were a few breaks, a few decisions, a move or two, from being right there with Portland, Denver and Dallas. But from the day Thompson got hurt last fall, they underestimated Curry, they underestimated Green, they overrated the future.

...

The Warriors were certainly caught off guard by the injury to Thompson. But the moves they made, the priority of their philosophy, never seemed to be about maximizing Curry. As a result, they finished the season with five healthy players getting DNP’d while the Warriors closed their season going seven deep and their star having to face the kind of defenses no one in the NBA sees. Opponents were free to triple-team Curry with reckless abandon."

Great article from Marcus Thompson. Glad a Warrior reporter said something along these lines, more than I can say for some of his colleagues.

Draymond was right, this is not 'we believe' that team made the playoffs

The morning after: Just realized Paschall and Poole has been here for 2 years now and has never shared the court with Klay

It's wild that LeBron went to that thing on Monday night and should have been protocoled against the Warriors and the Warriors would have most likely been the 7 seed.

Is it really possible that anyone has a hard time recognizing that the difference in conversations Kerr had to have with veterans like David Lee, Iguodala, and Bogut about not starting/closing games and the conversations he had to have about this year’s lineup decisions are literally the difference between a winning and a losing culture?

Oubre, CBS article says we have his bird rights, others say he is unrestricted free agent.

Do we have a chance to lock him up. If so, we should.

specterace, gluenbold, stop pop,

Slater summarized the same thing that they plan to be involved

From The Athletic:

After Friday’s loss, both essentially conducted exit interviews with the media. Curry, in his subtle ways, made it clear that upgrades were needed to “become that team again” and Green, in his not-so-subtle ways, said he, Curry and Thompson would be involved in those discussions.

“I expect to be extremely involved,” Green said. “It’s just the way it’s gotta be. We have to dive in. Looking back on this year, I think there were a lot of successes that came out of this year, but we did not win a championship. … There are some things that need to be discussed between myself, Steph, Klay, coaching staff, front office. This has always been a group thing.”

So are we in lottery now and we have chance to get #1 pick (*cue Jim Carrey in D&D*)? Lottery is gonna be a nail biter this time.

What does winning the lottery mean, at this point? Which position is the highest we can attain? Is there any player we would get a shot at in the draft barring the top 5, that could really make us a better club next season? I am doubtful about getting a draftee that will be a difference maker out of the gate. So, I look to Klay for starters, then I wonder if it is wise to try and trade Wiseman for a player(s) that will make Kerr's system even better. There is no way that Kerr incorporates a big man into a full game with big minutes with Steph on the floor. Add Steph and Klay, and it seems even more impossible. This team is built around Steph. As KD said, everything goes through Steph. That used to be the winning ticket and that is the ticket the FO seem to be holding and waving in the air. Maybe we should be hoping that Minny gets a top 3 spot and we get the unrestricted pick in 2022. We've got a TPE, MLE, and what else? Oubre leaves and there is even more money that can be spent. I invite some thoughts about all this..................Plus, is Draymond still holding us back by being the real PG on the team and not being a scorer? He is the only real PG, not Steph. I don't mind that as he is clearly better at it than Steph or anyone else plus he can defend. But score? Somebody has to get in his ear and make him a scorer again.

I'm excited to see how Poole will be like next season. I think he can be our CJ McCollum if he continues to shoot well.
