Just saw this stat on the Lakers game. We have the 3rd best record against teams under 0.500. Good sign for the future, but personally I wish we were going to play tougher teams. It always feels like we get overconfident playing non playoff teams only to get smacked when a playoff team comes around.

Before we blow everything up.The Warriors lost the 2nd game of a back-to-back to a team that hadn't played in 3 days. That's never news. There's a reason the NBA has significantly reduced the number of back to back (and 3 games in 4 days) in recent years (scheduling this year is a nightmare though). The odds on the W's winning that are horrible. I saw a study that said playing the second game of a road-home back to back had the worst chance of winning of all the back to back scenarios (home-home, home-road, road-home). The bench looked pretty good against Utah, but then very lousy against a well-rested, well coached Laker team. Before we trade away everything and fire Kerr/Myers/the shot-clock operator, let's just take a deep breath and see how things roll for a while.

https://www.nbcsports.com/bayarea/warriors/nba-rumors-james-wisemans-role-gives-warriors-organizational-tension

> "There is a source of organizational tension on the way that they've used Wiseman this year," ESPN's Ramona Shelburne said on the latest episode of the "Brian Windhorst & The Hoop Collective" podcast. "There's some people in the organization that really want them to put James Wiseman out there more. Not necessarily with the benching and all that, that's a separate matter. But just putting him out there more. Letting him play through mistakes, letting him play more minutes, heavier minutes like the other two rookies even though the Warriors are trying to contend for the playoffs.

"There is this sense of the faster you can get James Wiseman up to speed, the faster he can learn and grow from his mistakes within the system -- with Draymond as his big brother mentoring him on the court, off the court ... the better the franchise is going to transition."

Miles Turner?

> @TheNBACentral

The Knicks, Lakers, Clippers, Hornets and Pelicans are among those who have explored whether the Pacers are willing to part with Myles Turner, per The Indy Star

The way that's phrased tells me that Turner is not, in fact, available, but he'd be a great option for the Warriors. And I like his upside enough that I would definitely be willing to include Wiseman in that deal

Not a whole lot to be learned from this one. The "oops all rookies" lineup, on the second night of a back-to-back, was not likely to hold up against the defending champs, and it sure didn't.

The starters played fine; I really liked the adjustment to have Wiggins defending Lebron instead of Schroder. The second unit got demolished, demolished again, and the third unit got bodied in garbage time. The defensive discipline among the young'uns was sorely lacking, and even when the team defended well, the Lakers made tough shots.

I thought it might be competitive given how the team opened, but Lebron had a really strong game, Montrezl had an absolute showcase night, and the team just didn't have the energy to climb out of the hole they dug. Oh well, hope they get some good rest before the next 3 games in 4 days stretch; it would be real nice to sweep Memphis instead of split those.

Oof

> @cleantheglass

> The Lakers shot 27 for 27 at the rim last night against the Warriors.

> That's the most made shots at the rim without a miss in any game in the CTG database (which > goes back to 2003-04).

> By far: The second highest total without a miss was the Sixers going 21 for 21 back in 2010.

I'm pretty sure the Dubs would have won had they just called the Lebron goaltend. Damn refs deciding games again.

How is that not a foul by Morris on Steph's no look reverse above?

Trae Young gets an FTA for every 2PA.

Steph? Almost 1:2

Strong disagree about Looney not doing much. He helped keep the team tied together and competitive while he was on the floor. They are so much more effective with him out there it’s not even close. He is just an awkward looking player that can surprisingly guard the perimeter as well as anyone. James blew by him once early and then couldn’t the rest of Looney’s meagre minutes.

Why was Paschall out there to start the 2nd? He wasn’t there against the Jazz. This lineup left him guarding Schroeder a ton and didn’t add rebounding. Bad lineup adjustment. Thought they already knew better.

Any FA signing should be primarily a rebounder. W's played a lot of 38 sec, defense last night.

Let me remind you that Harrell is not a 'big man', just like Draymond is not a big man. He's 6'7" and is a very good scorer. In fact, he's not even a starter on the Lakers and never has been one on any of his previous teams. But, he is the essence of a small ball center. Watching Wiseman against him, was a clear clinic in how far Wiseman has to go to a achieve respectability in the paint.

Let me also add another comparison as to the talent level that the Warriors need to step up to regarding Paschall. A clear failure at both C and PF. Gimmick players are not going to cut it.

Can Poole really contribute meaningful minutes on the bench? It takes him quite a while to heat up but there are only so many available minutes for him. He does have some game, but his struggle to make this team can easily come to an end if the Warriors get serious next year.

Thank you, Bob Myers.
