Bucks, Jazz, Nets all lost. Barring major injury or Covid craziness, I think we will have better seed than Bucks and Nets (and for sure, LAL+LAC) by end of RS.

KD with the solid -15 in 41 minutes with efficient scoring, in a game his team lost by 6. 7 Non KD minutes were +9…

Cavs are having trouble closing the game. It seems that fatigue has caught up to them in the 2nd half.

Fox clanks a jumper and Cavs hold on

Very Kangzy ending.

Saw the highlight on r/nba. Rondo did a good job staying in front of Fox to force a tough shot.

Cavaliers are doing all right against the Kings. They're shooting much better than last night in terms of two-pointers, but they can't hit their threes tonight. Meanwhile, the Kings aren't shooting the two-pointers well, but they are over 40% on threes.

Both teams have at least 10 offensive rebounds, and the Cavs have 10 more assists and 5 more turnovers than the Kings.

Weatherspoon with 34/4/4/2/1 -- that's pretty good as well. I only saw the box score. Can anyone comment on his game?

Moody with 68 points in the last two games shooting just 35% from three.

Someone needs to talk to him ASAP and remind him that he's only a 3 and D prospect.

He did completely lost Memphis best shooter to overhelp toward the end of the game… and didn’t box out earlier in the game while the rebound went over his head to his guy too 😉

You know, he’s not quite perfect

So many great finishes tonight. 37 pts on 13-23 fg. He's gonna be tough to stop when he leaves his teens and puts on a bit of grown man strength.

I gave JK crap, but 11 pts / 8 reb / 8 ast is pretty interesting if you ignore the dumb turnovers and frustration fouls.

JK had multiple good passes for easy buckets that just didn’t get finished. Could have easily been a a triple double, even with the frustration and weird efforts.

For his last turnover, he initiated a split cut, but the other Warriors didn’t run the play right and messed up the spacing… ended up leaving JK with the ball and he just dribbled into trouble, lol.

Not to mention, his continued frustrating lack of efficiency.

Kuminga had one really good rebound I remember near the beginning of the game where he completely boxed out his man and then grabbed it while enduring contact, I liked seeing that. Gotta think he could be a monster on the boards.

And Moody's finishing was a big criticism of him as a prospect, but imo he displayed great touch he just lacked the athleticism/strength to make contested finishes. Was good to see him make some contested finishes tonight, although if he develops a left hand some of those finishes could get a lot easier for him.

I didn't catch the whole game but it seemed like he would get bored of playmaking at times and just decided he'd put his head down and force shots.

Expand full comment

He seemed bored of everything. Just opposite of the impression he gives me every time he plays with the Dubs.

Expand full comment

People have made the JK/Kawhi comparison, but I feel Moody's offensive game is much closer to Kawhi. Can't wait to see him with a full NBA offseason.

Expand full comment

You can't have too many Kawhi like players.

Expand full comment

I think JK is a Kawhi-like body with a Giannis-like game but with the potential of being a better shooter

I Figueroa'd it would be a game winning floater off an inbounds

Figueroa with a quiet good game but finishes it off loudly

aha, missed that

Probably should have been benched for stupid fouls and turnovers anyway. :-(

Both rooks are moody. One of them by name...

Kidding, sort of. Kuminga is young, but he can be pretty hard in himself sometimes.

It's a good sign that it doesn't show as much in the NBA as in the G League.

Yeah, you might be right.

Q with ice in his veins. Keeper!

Expand full comment

Yeah people are talking about him not being in the rotation this season regardless, but that doesn't mean he can't be in next season's rotation.

Expand full comment

It's a long shot. I like Q a lot, but it's a numbers game.

Expand full comment

He's got another year of two-way eligibility next season which would make it easier. But I agree, he needs to show more as a shooter.

Expand full comment

He's got a better chance of being a ball handler and taking Chiozza's minutes. To be in the rotation, you must have a 3 point shot. Green and Looney are the exceptions for the Dubs, and are both primarily defensive stoppers, not scorers.

Expand full comment

I dunno, he seems like a good enough FT shooter so I'm not going to write him off as not being able to develop a shot.

I'm not either.

What’s weatherspoon 3PT percentage in g league? Feel like he has potential to be better then Lee if he can shoot similar

Expand full comment

In 3 seasons, .182 3pt%

I see what the problem is. I typed g league basketball reference and it gave me the NBA. In the game he played with us, he didn't shoot any 3s. It is blank.

Warriors have done wonders for GP2 and JTA though, so maybe they see some potential fixes.

Expand full comment

Warriors are too deep to bring him into their roster and give him PT.

Expand full comment

That was true of GP2 as well last season, but look at him now

Expand full comment

not true. He needed minutes which he did not get to show his game. He didn't just develop those hops overnight.

What's not true? That GP2 didn't play much last season but is playing now? Because that's all I said lol, it sounds like you agree

Sheesh they don’t look good but his jumper looks money

Moses and Q looking soooo much better than Jon K tonight.

Expand full comment

He’s not even trying lol

Expand full comment

That's not a good thing

Expand full comment

It’s not but he’s shown he just needs a challenge n he’s fine, put him on ball or somebody bigger then him and he will feel the challenge

Expand full comment

To me he's shown that he can play smallball big at the NBA level without much development needed.

But he needs a lot of development as a decision-maker and the G-League is the best place for that, so I'd hope he takes it seriously. He needs that ".5 Seconds Or Less" lesson that Poole got, he keeps getting the ball and "resetting".
