Really had a feeling (wishful thinking?) we’d see Klay tonight. But surely we’d have heard by now. Feels like every game from now until he returns will be a massive let down for me even when we win.
As you might expect, the Warriors' top 3 scorers are Curry, Wiggins, and Poole in that order. Their next highest-scorer is a tie between Draymond Green and Gary Payton II. Yep, "defensive specialist" GP2 has scored more points than Otto Porter Jr., despite playing fewer total minutes, not to mention Looney, or JTA (also all more minutes than GP2). Bjelica and DLee are a little behind in minutes as well as points/minute.
Also, newly-minted 2-way Weatherspoon's minutes aren't high enough to make meaningful rate stats, but the stats agree with the eye test that his game against Phoenix was a very good one.
Old friend Marquese Chriss: 14 minutes, 15 points on 6-9 fg (3-3 from three!), 7 reb, team-high +14 in a 9-point Mavs win.
Luka's back and shaking off the rust, apparently: 14 pts on 6-14 fg, 7 turnovers, -4. (It's a strange but true fact that over Luka's entire career, the Mavs have been slightly better with him on the bench than on the floor).
Man, Omer Yurtseven is a stud. I was hoping Meyers would snatch him up on a two-way contract after he wrecked our shit in Summer League. Would have been awesome.
That said, I think the author is overly optimistic about the Jazz's chances against the full strength Warriors. If you go down the starting rotations, the Warriors are just better at every position except center assuming Klay is close to his old self. The relative strength of the benches isn't even close. That is just too much of a talent gap for Gobert to overcome.
Kings barely beat the Heat 115-113. Each of the Heat starters played at least 33 minutes in the loss. As for the Kings, Buddy Hield, De'Aaron Fox, Davion Mitchell, and Damion Jones had a great shooting night.
I just realized that the Heat are playing tonight against the Kings. So they're gonna be on a 2nd night of a back-to-back when the Warriors face them tomorrow evening.
Woj Bomb: Don Johnson & Philip Michael Thomas activated for tonight's Miami Heat team.

Looks like the Lakers will beat the T-Wolves tonight. T-Wolves are still going to be 2-1 over the Lakers this season, however.
Wolves lead 80-78 at the end of 3rd quarter
Warriors remain in 4th place in the highly respected 538 current standings. The powerful Utah team retains the top spot.

BTW, I hate the Utah floor. It might be the ugliest floor in the NBA. I don't really like the Chase floor either. I loved the Oracle floor.
Lakers lead 57-54 against the Timberwolves at halftime. I think Lakers got blown out by the Wolves the last time both teams played each other in LA.

Jaylen Brown puts up 50 against the Magic, is that tied for the most this season with Curry? Or has someone else broken 50 too?

I would like to thank the coaches for starting OPJ.
So, we are currently top 5 in FG% (47.3, 4th) and 3P% (37, 5th) but a bottom 5 in FT% (74.6, 27th!).
How are we feeling about this? Anything/too soon to be concerned about?
Klay is an 85% FT shooter so that should help some what.
Reasonably fair and balanced article from the sltrib about the game. It is behind a paywall but I think you get 3 free articles: https://www.sltrib.com/sports/jazz/2022/01/01/triple-team-defensive/
