I guess NBA FO is doing all in their power to help MAVS make the playoffs. LUKA's 16th tech was rescinded, so, he leads MAVS to vital win. He yelled a profanity at one of the refs, but, when the NBA wants you, I guess it is OK. Now when it does not want you, they suspend Green for a vital game 5 of A FINAL, after LBJ pushed him down, stepped over him, and WHINED FOUL TO THE MEDIA.....I guess they weren't ready to CROWN DUBS BEST TEAM OF ALL TIME, AND STEPH THE NEW KING....
Just saw the results of tonight's games and what an unpleasant sight to be greeted with. Not a single favourable result. Yesterday's loss is going to haunt us all the way to the post season.
Yup. May push us in Playin for sure. If we lose today's (Tuesday's) game against NO, we are definitely screwed and may be going up against LAL for playin and will get walloped as always.
Last two minutes execution this season has been horrible.
Also shows that as dominant as the trio have been so far, they don't work w/o a SF who can play seamlessly with them.
Maybe... maybe... gonna have to beat NOP & OKC now, and hope to steal one against DEN or SAC. But the Clippers have a really tough schedule down the stretch too.
Look, we're going to beat the Pels tomorrow, then the Clippers are going to lose to the Grizz and the Wolves are going to lose to the Suns on Wednesday, and all will be well again.
Another bad news: Wolves have the 6th easiest remaining schedule in the league. @ Spurs and vs. Blazers are definite wins for them, and they might even beat the Lakers this Friday as well. So the Warriors need to take care of business and win as much of their remaining games in their schedule, too.
I believe the Dubs can get the tie breaker via conference record if the Wolves lose to a couple of West teams in their final 6 and the Dubs win theirs.
If that's the case, the Dubs would end up with a better record than the Wolves and a tiebreaker wouldn't be needed.
Unfortunately, the Wolves have sewn up the tiebreaker against the Dubs (at least in a two-way tie). All six of the Dubs remaining games are against the West; five of the six of the Wolves games are against the West. If Dubs and Wolves tie, there's no way that the Dubs would end up with a better conference record since the Wolves currently have one fewer conference loss. If, for example, the Dubs and Wolves both went 3-3, and one of the Wolves wins was against Brooklyn, then they'd go 2-3 in the West, so they'd still finish with a better conference record.
Actually, since we only have conference games left, we can never catchup in conference record to the Wolves and remain tied, so we have officially lost the tiebreaker as of last night...
This playoff position race is getting very heated. Our choke against Minny didn't help our cause. Let's hope we can cough up this obstruction right away. Many other teams closing in and playing well. The Pelicans will be playing a b2b with us. Perfect for a Warrior onslaught. Get DDV out of the starting rotation.
Looking at the Clippers schedule, they won tonight, but have it kinda tough the rest of the way, especially missing PG. Think it all may come down to the last game of the season and the Dubs will just have to find a way to go 5-1 if they don't win all 6 to stay out of the play-in.
Hopefully they bounce back against the Pelicans. They literally gave them both games in New Orleans, sitting every starter but Loon. Looking forward to seeing what Steve does rotation wise.
Two easiest ones, would be the Blazers and maybe the Lakers. Pelicans just smacked them, so may be they get revenge. KD is back for the Suns. Depending how close everyone is on the last day, who knows if anyone will be able to afford sitting their stars (not including the top three and eliminated teams).
However we get to the #6 seed is fine by me. #4-5 are sub-optimal, cos I want no part of Phoenix in the first round. #7 would kinda suck; #8 would totally suck; #9 would suck royally; and #10 would suck [whatever’s worse than royally.]
#11-12 … at least we’d get a decent shot at Wemby?
I thought it would be interesting to see the Timberwolves vs Grizzlies in the 1st round again, but if they want to power up to 5, and somehow the Dubs take 6 and Clippers land 7...I won't complain.
Donte fits beautifully with the core, imo. Tough, championship pedigree, super high hoops IQ, makes smart decisions with the ball, good screener, knockdown shooter off the catch, excellent rebounder and defender.
I’m not too hung up on who starts and who doesn’t. I figure all of Donte, Jon and Gary will get somewhere between 15 and 30 mpg depending on matchup, feel, etc. (and of course, depending on whether Wiggs returns…)
Hmmm. Draymond is listed a probable for tomorrow's game (neck soreness). That, I'm worried about. Seems like the kind of thing that could cause a late scratch.
I think he got whacked in the neck & face 3 times last night... I think it's more of a (less worrying) contact injury than a (more worrying) strain... but I could be wrong. He's listed as probable instead of questionable, and that's usually quite meaningful.
At the start of the season I was very worried about his back, his age, and his physical style. At this point, near the end of the season, I’d say he has given WAY more than expected.
If he takes a game or two to rest before the playoffs, he’s earned it. I’m not ready to say he’s wearing down. To me he looks in remarkable shape.
Generally agreed for the old dudes, but I’d think super young guys like Jon are more “wearing up” — getting mentally and physically stronger with every game played.
For the record though, Curry/DDV/Klay/Draymond/Looney has a +11.1 net rating in 129 total minutes. Not quite the monster that Curry/Klay/Wiggins/Green/Looney is but has still been very good.
But I think putting GP2 in there could possibly make it better.
Sacramento could theoretically shut out the Wolves and steal it here... but yeah... just gonna have to actually win some games to get across the line instead of relying on others to screw up.
Kings also have only 15 assists and have 10 turnovers. Wolves defense is clogging up the Kings passing lane, too. Meanwhile, Wolves have 30+ assists and have only 5 turnovers.
Pels are gonna be 38-37 and the Blazers will fall to 32-43 after tonight's game. Pels are crushing the Blazers in Portland tonight, and the Pels starters haven't played a lot of minutes.

Bad news: We choked away a big game that could cost us at the end of the regular season.
Good news: This wasn't like the Memphis play in game from a few years back and we still have an opportunity to redeem ourselves.
We fought to get that play in. This year, we've stumbled down to it yet again
It certainly appears to me that the Warriors are fighting for the postseason.
God damnit are we gonna end up in the play in bc we couldn't win a game up 1pt WITH THE BALL and 25s left?!?! Please don't let it be so
Maybe... maybe... gonna have to beat NOP & OKC now, and hope to steal one against DEN or SAC. But the Clippers have a really tough schedule down the stretch too.

Good news first. HIELD DIDN'T PLAY TONIGHT. KLAY SITTING ON TOP WITH A 3 BUCKET LEAD, BOTH TEAMS HAVE PLAYED 76 GAMES.
THE BAD NEWS, MINN JUMPS INTO 6TH WITH A WIN; DUBS IN 7TH...PLAY IN.
2 baskets lead with Klay 273, Buddy 271
Thanks...and, today, it is a 7 bucket KLAY lead...

Spot-on, SOL...

How so? They have 5 WC games left. They may lose 3 more than us - unlikely, but not a foregone conclusion
If that happens, they wouldn't be tied with us :)
Okay I see, so the Dubs will have to make sure they win at least one more game than them for it not to matter.
I don't trust the dubs in the play in. I hate to say it, but...
I hear you. Anything may happen in a one game-you are out....

Remaining schedule for the Clippers:
3/29- @ Grizzlies
3/31- @ Grizzlies
4/1- @ Pelicans
4/5- vs. Lakers
4/8- vs. Blazers
4/9- @ Suns
Fun fact, we could win the tiebreaker with the clippers if they lose to both @Suns and vs Lakers and we win @Kings, but otherwise we are toast.
The Clippers could easily go 2-4... I'm much more optimistic about passing them than the Wolves now...
However we get to the #6 seed is fine by me. #4-5 are sub-optimal, cos I want no part of Phoenix in the first round. #7 would kinda suck; #8 would totally suck; #9 would suck royally; and #10 would suck [whatever’s worse than royally.]

DDV has been off in the past 4 out of 5 games. I wonder what's wrong with him?
Also, Pels starters did not play more than 25-31 minutes, so I don't think B2B is gonna be a factor for them...I think.
He hurt his back trying to carry the team’s Defense for a month?
The team's defense is a heavy load.
He's a bench player, not a starter. Simple. He doesn't fit with the core.
?
Donte fits beautifully with the core, imo. Tough, championship pedigree, super high hoops IQ, makes smart decisions with the ball, good screener, knockdown shooter off the catch, excellent rebounder and defender.

Clippers beat the Bulls 124-112. Clippers move to 40-36. Not a good night for the Warriors tonight. Mavs, Suns, Pels, Wolves, and Clippers won.
Hmmm. Draymond is listed a probable for tomorrow's game (neck soreness). That, I'm worried about. Seems like the kind of thing that could cause a late scratch.

Seems more and more that Draymond is wearing down. He plays hard and that takes its toll.
No rest for the weary; I agree, but, if he rests, we are not making the playoffs....
I understand the sentiment, but I wouldn't be against them making the playoffs.
Wearing down is a slow process. All athletes are in a wearing down process. There is no way to push a body like that and not be wearing down.
Generally agreed for the old dudes, but I’d think super young guys like Jon are more “wearing up” — getting mentally and physically stronger with every game played.
YEP, a serviceable 7 footer will go a long way for Dray and Loons taking a lesser beating every game...
Wolves beat the Kings 119-115. Wolves move to 39-37 while the Kings fall to 45-30.
Well good for the Wolves.. everybody ridiculed them for the Gobert trade. If they make it maybe they were right.
They look solid and challenging. Their defense seems to hold with their size advantage especially against smaller teams.
In two seasons, the Curry/GP2/Klay/Draymond/Looney has played around 2 minutes together, including 1 last night.
I have the sneaking suspicion that it's a really good lineup though, and would like to see it more if possible.
Seems it would solve the problem of DDV's slow starts and zero contributing points during the 1st half of play. I like having 3 bigs! lol.
Who would have thought that Minny would be a dark horse in the play-in/playoff race.
Kyle Anderson is earning his $$ with the Wolves - high BBIQ and a great teammate. Guessing the Grizz feel bad that he got away.
I'm hoping he can help eliminate the Grizz after the Wolves get the 7 seed...
19/34 threes for the Clippers. They went rage mode after getting bombed from beyond the arc against the Pelicans on Saturday.
Not a good set of results tonight. Not a one.
Sacramento could theoretically shut out the Wolves and steal it here... but yeah... just gonna have to actually win some games to get across the line instead of relying on others to screw up.
Can the Kings just make a 3? They're 4/21 tonight... are the Wolves just that amazing defensively?
Kings also have only 15 assists and have 10 turnovers. Wolves defense is clogging up the Kings passing lane, too. Meanwhile, Wolves have 30+ assists and have only 5 turnovers.
Pels are gonna be 38-37 and the Blazers will fall to 32-43 after tonight's game. Pels are crushing the Blazers in Portland tonight, and the Pels starters haven't played a lot of minutes.
