BlueManHoop has an article suggesting a trade for Hortford and Simmons which can't possibly work due to cap constraints but the idea of Simmons for Wiggins or Simmons for Wiggins plus say, a pair of 2nd rounds is intriguing.

Simmons has one significant flaw (shooting) but is otherwise a great fit for everything the Warriors are missing right now.

Any thoughts on Simmons as a Warrior and what we should give up beside Wiggins?

Seems to be a bit of confusion out there about bad contracts. Perceived bad contracts aren’t necessarily tied to bad players. Chris Paul definitely added wins for OKC.

Why should we as fans care if the owners lose money for a couple of years? They are going to rake in tons of money over the long haul.

Using the TPC to take in a bad contract and assets could help the team now with a good player and in the future with draft assets.

All the trade proposals seem to be focused on young up a comers (makes sense based upon the value of the trade exception.) But what bad contract players can the Warriors bring in to compete now and get more assets for only the cost of $?

Is there going to be a Morey trade series for the Warriors now that he’s in the east? 77 trades with the Rockets? I bet he could put together a multi team trade if the Warriors want Horford or the Clippers (Harris?) PF everyone knew would be a bad contract the year before he hit FA.

Compared to most dubs homer trade ideas, these are weirdly heavily biased against dubs (i.e. seem like heavy overpays relative to what neutral parties would say as fair). Not a bad thing per se (although means heavy no on most of these ideas), but just unexpected to see haha.

How many second round picks would you send the Heat to get Iguodala with the TPE?

I have a Wiggins vs Barnes question. My perception of Barnes, from what I remember and comments about him since he's been gone, is that he could be relied on for 12-15 points per night but rarely got up to 20. Wiggins, on the other hand, can get 20 with not much effort and could easily have 25-30 on any given night. I remember reading an article [or seeing an interview] where Lacob said they always wished Barnes could be a 20 point guy. Now I'm seeing in some recent articles that Barnes is getting a more favorable spin than Wiggins. I can see it for his defense - but not for his offense. What is your take on that?

Since they had to lose Iguodala to save money, I don't see them using the TPE to get him back. I'm still on the keep the #2 pick unless there is a chance to trade it and pick up a couple of lower first round picks if there are guys available that the Warriors like. The Curry/Thompson/Green/Wiggins Warriors are a playoff team, but 3 of the 4 are in their 30s. The Warriors can make a run at another title over the next couple of seasons, but then they need to worry about the post Curry future. Does anybody really want to relive the 1995-2010 Warriors where they are perpetually up against the salary cap but still short on talent? the "We Believe" team was nice, but it was good for exactly 2 years.

Has anyone thought about Julius Randle + N.8 for N.2 overall pick? I don't know, if we can make his salary work (he's a little over the TPE exception) than we could have a player who really fits our system and can be a Center for us who really collapses our defense. Not to mention, he has shown that he can shoot 34% from 3 so he's definitely improved his shooting. He's a very good on ball defender but his team defense is lacking, something that i believe can be improved on a team that is competing for a championship.

Andre's 2020 RPM was better than RJ Barrett's, D'Andre Hunter's, Cam Reddish's, Darius Garland's and Rui Hachimura's. Also better than Trae Young's rookie RPM.

There seems to be a good chance the #2 pick in this year's draft doesn't match any of those rookie performances.

Pacers would pass I doubt they'd do the #2 + our 2021 MN pick. I doubt they do those picks + Paschall.

I'd happily trade Wiggins + #2 for Sabonis but the money doesn't work. We could send the TPE, but then I think the Pacers need to send back $10M? I think we'd have to take on some of the Pacers' cap space.

Would slam RoCo or Oubre for a pick, but an elderly Iggy for #2 would be insanity

Sabonis for #2 would be amazing - but will never happen. I would be good with Oubre & #10 for #2. He is like a wild stallion that just needs to be reined in a little bit. I don't know about last year in PHX but he was just a bit out of control in Washington at times. He's good on both sides of the ball, and capable of putting up big #s in the right situation. Closing lineup of Steph, Klay, Oubre, Wiggins and Draymond would not be a bad thing at all. He could be in contention for 6th man of the year coming off the bench.

The only one I would even consider is 3.1.1. The others ... flat no. (I'd love it if Iguodala came back to the bay, but he's not worth the #2 pick).

These are fun to contemplate, especially while I wonder if there is a creative way to get Iguodala to come home and Sabonis, too. I’m not confident enough about Oubre to give up on Andre.
