The GSW are the biggest loser this off season. I sincerely thought Klay was going to be a top 5 player this year. But kudos to the organization from top to bottom putting together a roster that will both keep Steph happy (Bazemore) and give the Warriors a chance to compete on both sides of the court. What could be better than watching this team strive to win now from the underdog role with a hard nosed team ball style, and have hope that they will add a historically good shooter and a young stud to the roster next year?

I think Houston had an underrated offseason. Christian Wood is a beast, and probably compliments their team more than even Covington did. Westbrook was addition by subtraction from the perspective of mental overhead, with there being a good chance that Wall is either decent by contrast or injured (which is also an improvement). They are obviously weaker on the wings now, but I think any lineup of 3&D stiffs plus Harden, Tucker and Wood is going to be a good playoff lineup. Then there's Gordon, who is a bit of a wildcard, but provides scoring and energy off the bench.

If Harden is bought in, I think they're going to be a tough out in the Western Conference playoffs, depending on how well the improved Clippers play (most likely they're the team to beat IMO). And I say this with great regret, because they're my least favorite franchise in the NBA.

After a lot of talk about Golden State being perceived as a "fringe playoff team" in prior threads, seems like several sites are giving them more credibility than that (The Ringer has them at the top of their "playoff lock" grouping, ESPN's power poll has them 13th). That seems fair to me. Yeah, a lot of questions, but most teams have a lot of questions right now.

Really chomping at the bit for this season to get going, hoping Covid doesn't ruin it all.

I'm not nearly as down on Donovan Mitchell as Tom is. He has shot around 35% from 3pt for his career, has improved a little bit each year as has his FT%, and is only 23. If he was 33, you could expect regression, but at his current age I would expect him to continue to improve. He doesn't have the size to be a great defender, but seems to be at least adequate.

Yep, been thinking for a while that Jazz and Rockets have peaked. West has Lakers & Clippers in top tier, then Nuggets/Warriors/Trail Blazers/Mavs in next level. Would be an interesting season even without the Covid concerns.
