So how many games before we can start feeling some confidence in Wiggins' "Warriors vs Wolves" stats? 10 games as a Warrior a fair cutoff? That's like 3 weeks, or ⅛ of a season, which feels like... maybe enough? I guess streaks and slumps sometimes last more than that so it's not a lock, but I'm really curious: is he really doing better than he was before, or were his expectations in Minnesota just too high?

Because, to my eyes, so far he has looked like probably not a max player but easily far better than a vet min player. Whereas, estimates of his value on the Wolves were frequently "approximately replacement level player."

I know the idea of a generic replacement level player is questionable, but still...

So apparently the Zion-stopper is . . . Maxi Kleber

Im SOLD on Obi Toppin He’s like a Poot mans giannis with a legitimate 3-point shoot, although Mabe that would make him the rich man Giannis. The more tape I watch of him the more excited I get with the thought of him playing next to Paschall both of them would dominate the post with Steph and Klay giving them all the space if in the world

So this is what it feels like on Stephmas Eve.

We have 20 games left. Suppose we go 10-10 (kind of a big if, because it's not like Curry is going to play 30 - or even more than 15, probably, especially in the beginning). Based solely on season-long win pct's (this is kind of a bad assumption, especially for the Wolves and Cavs, but it's probably the most conservative, too, so I'll go with that). This would mean (rounding down):

Cavs: win 5/20 + 17 now = 22 wins

Wolves: win 6/20 + 18 now = 24 wins

Hawks: 5 + 19 = 24

Dubs: 14+ 10 =24

Knicks: 6 + 19 = 25

So 4th, which means 8th at worst, 97.8% chance of 7th or better (which has gotten us Udoh - sorry Ekpe - but also Barnes and this Wardell guy from the G-League that they're giving a chance to tomorrow.) Lose 11 games, and the Dubs all-of-a-sudden are guaranteed top 6, with and 80% chance at top-5. But even at #4, we're close to a 50% (actually 48.1%) of getting top-4 anyway.

Does this matter a huge amount? For trade purposes (either for a star, or a trade-down), 4 or better looks a lot better than 7 or 8. But the Dubs are in pretty good tanking shape now, so let's enjoy Steph and rack up some wins!!

Great night. Mulder's UFO party is awesome! For Denver Jokic is awesome but I really do wonder how sustainable his game and size are moving forward through future seasons in the NBA. Not saying he don't play or be effective but he really needs a serious weapon next to him IMHO.

Lots of great and encouraging things about last night but the two I am most excited about is the rapid growth of Poole and the emergence of this better, more well-rounded Wiggins. The former looks like an NBA player after bot resembling one for much of the first half of the season, and the latter is showing some tantalizing glimpses of what may be possible for this team going forward if he can sustain this level of defensive effort and passing from the wing position. I was pretty down on that trade when it broke but as I've watched Andrew play since then, I think more and more of how incompetent Minnesota's org must be to not have a guy with his talent and tools play better during his years there.

This Mulder guy is a knock down shooter. His stroke looks effortless and he’s still hitting his shots at a respectable rate even if he’s not getting the best looks because of the lack of floor spacing. He really needs to stick around because I’d love to see him shoot open 3s next year.

By Threezus' Happy Smile and the Big Smoke of Klay, I hope he and JTA can keep it up and become full members of the Splash Pantheon.

If so, then we need to lock them up ASAP because the last thing the League needs is a hybrid monster, a hardened core of joyous veteran War-machines taking a gritty, hungry group of talented new long, smart, switchable, athletic, team-first players under their wings and teaching them how to be underdog Champions.

Seriously. If they can keep it up, come together in defense, learn the consistency of our veterans, and we get to the WCF or beyond next year, with like 50+ wins, the League had better give CotY and EotY to Kerr and Bob.

Some of the plays in this game looked like Klay and Steph weren't even out, they were just 5 years younger...

LOL

> After LGW’s Duby Dub Dubs wrote a piece lamenting Golden State’s perimeter struggles, I’m sure he was quite thrilled to see that the Warriors limited Denver to 3-of-20 shooting from deep.

There are some times when I love being wrong. This was one of them.

Daniel, Nice recap as usual.

>> Mentioned “next year” post-game.

That got me hyped when I heard him say that during post-game. I think I saw a glint in his eyes when he said that 🙂.
