My Game 1 overreaction: Entered the game a little nervous about Klay for this year; exited a little nervous about Wiggins.
I think they'll settle in, and it's encouraging that both Moody and JK looked (mostly) good. The team has real depth. Draymond will help a ton, obviously. But the hot start they were hoping for doesn't seem super likely at this point, so we just have to hope they don't dig too big a hole for themselves.
Impossible to say for sure, from our perspective as fans. I’m sure MDJ had a seat at the table, and an increasingly influential voice as his tenure progressed. But since parsing out which specific voices swayed which specific decisions is impossible, we typically apply “auteur theory” or “buck stops here” theory, whereby the guy at the top of the food chain — i.e. Myers — gets the credit or blame for all FO decisions (just as we credit “Hitchcock” or “Welles” for their movies, even though they had teams of incredible, creative screenwriters, cinematographers, composers, etc. supporting them).
The one major exception to this is of course the “Jerry West Corollary” —whereby all good decisions that were made when West was part of the FO get 100% credited to his staggering genius, and all the bad ones get hung on Myers and the other dummies. 😊
Just watched wembys first game. Hes incredible but man the spurs need some veteran ball handlers who know how to set him up, I can't even imagine what he could do with someone like draymond/paul/steph/etc. on his team.
I am late to respond to last nights game. My takeaway was very positive. I love the impact of a stabilizing force like CP3. The team missed a ton of bunnies, but GP2, JK and Moody were fantastic. I am getting some vibes of years past. It may take a few games for them to come together but when they do, we could be pretty good.
There’s a time and place for everything. Now is the time for small sample size theatre, over-reactionary thoughts of destruction, and general ice cream free malaise. There, I got it off my chest. No worries, the ship will right.
I actually thought the Dubs played pretty well, other than abysmal shooting. Make that even slightly better and the wins will flow like snowmelt gushing down the Sierras.
Unlike the Suns, the Kings are fast as hell on the perimeter and play with tremendous pace. So I'm expecting a tough one for the Draymond-less Warriors. Would guess that the Kings are favored?
Just ask the fans if they would still take Podz over Lively if they could. Could Kerr integrate someone like Lively into his schemes? Would he? I'm really not sure.
The latter only applies when the Warriors pass on them, when they are drafted ahead of where the Warriors pick we're free to enjoy them. I don't make the rules.
So I was just monkeying around with the ESPN NBA Trade Machine. Don't judge, I was just bored and wanted to see if I could trade Chris Paul for Bam Adebayo. It works, but get this: the automatic projection by ESPN's analytics tool says that the trade would increase Miami's wins by 33. THIRTY-THREE. By gaining CP and losing Adebayo. WHaaaaaaaaa?????? Warriors projected to lose 8 more games.

MT2 fluff piece on CP's floor general role with the Dubs.

Are you sure it wasn't MDJ that actually did the work before Myers' tenure officially ended?

Did you watch the Mavericks first game with Lively? He looked much better than Wemby and impacted the game in a big way. Great pick up for Dallas.

This will not be Wemby’s year. He’s just too excited to do all the things all the time. Good learning year for him, though.
We’ll see.

‘Nuff said.
Pretty sure there's no snow in the Sierras right about now. Good night.
Heh. I live in truckee and woke to snow on the top 2000’ of our local peaks.

In case you are counting, tomorrow's game will be the 11th time we've played Sacramento since April 6 (not counting summer league).

I'm preparing for an ass-whooping from the Kings.
Somebody needs a hug! ❤️
As would I.
I would guess that TJD gets some run tomorrow, but we'll see.
Fox is amazing (and a very likeable guy, to boot).
Wait do I root for Lively to do well to justify my wanting to draft him, or do I want him to do poorly so I don't feel bad that GSW missed out on him

Root for him because he's FUN. Are we Warrior fans only or also basketball fans? Loving his energy and hops.
Harrison Barnes had 31 points tonight! He’s gearing up for Friday’s game against his ex-Warriors.
27 points in the 1st half, 4 in the 2nd half.

Shit broke
Naw. They didn't say over how many years.
Dereck Lively showing more in his first game than Wiseman has in 4 years. Like a younger, springier TJD.
Nice alley oop. Derrick is so Lively.
Scoot Henderson 0-4 in his first professional quarter... I boldly predict he will not go 0-for-career
Indiana put up 143 points, the most a team has in its opener since 1990. Name two Pacers.
Podziemski white guy comparison TJ McConnell is on that team.
I like the Pacers though, think they get like the 7 seed this season.
Larry Bird and the Clydesdale.
Myles Turner is a name thrown around a lot on this site.
Haliburton and team.
That's what I had.
Isn't Buddy Hield on the P's this year?
Just saw a post on Reddit that Klay was the best on-ball defender in yesterday's game while primarily defending KD and Gordon.
Really?
Imagine having a washed up Drummond snatching your ankles as your Welcome to the NBA moment
Now I can't un-imagine that.
Don't have to imagine it.

Oh wow that was embarrassing for Chet. Ball taken from him and that the awkward awkward stumble. Ouchies.
Sorry won't look at Twitter. Toxic central.
What is this "Twitter " you speak of?
Careful, you might pull a muscle patting yourself on the back for being better than the plebeians.
