Sorry, I know I shouldn't be venomous, but I can't resist.
Last summer I was excited for Poole Party, for the Lion Kuminga, for MM, for PBJ. Even for JW. I was excited for Bob Myers. I was excited for DDV, although GP2 runaway stung a little.
For what should I be excited this year? For Chris Paul? For Cory Joseph? For Dario Saric? For TDJ? For Quinones? (by the way, little latin sound help, the first n in his surname has a Spanish tilde, and it sounds more or less like the double n in 'tennis'). Should I be excited for a team that mixes two opposing gameplays (fast Kerr ball and controlled half court PNR) without having the right players for either one? (avg. age too high for fast break, no proper centres for p'n'r)
Honestly, I think about JP2 in DC (my prediction? If they give him the same green light they gave to Beal, contender for scoring title and AS). I think about Wiseman, 16 pts. 12 reb, 1 blk in 25 min. with Pistons. I think about Mannion, 16 pts 5 reb 4 ast 2 stl in 29 min. with Bucks.
That's what would excite me, buddies. I am very bitter instead.
The Lakers are “actively” seeking another center to shore up their frontcourt. Centers Christian Wood and Bismack Biyombo are in consideration for LA’s 14th roster spot, sources told @TheAthleticNBA.
I know they were never gonna do it but I'm worried that passing on Cam Whitmore is gonna be a mistake. I know Podz is older, more likely to help this year etc, but I just don't see the athleticism there to be anything more than a back of the rotation player.
And it's only Summer League and a small sample, but Brandon Miller went 4-18, 0-7 from 3 - still can't believe he went over Scoot.
“It was just a little nip in my hamstring, it was nothing too crazy,” Jackson-Davis told The Chronicle. “The team doctors and trainers have done a really good job, but we’re just trying to take it slowly. It’s summer league. Obviously we’re trying to win games, but at the same time we don’t want anything lingering. That’s the biggest emphasis.
“My right hamstring is honestly probably better than my left right now, just the impact of how much work they’ve done on it. … Hopefully I’ll be on the court soon.”
“I’m ready to go out there. I’m ready to start playing,” Jackson-Davis told The Chronicle. “But I’m also going to listen to what they say, and hopefully I’ll be cleared for Wednesday or Thursday.”
Watching CP3 giving a press conference about the trade to the Warriors. Not lots to report, just reading the tea leaves and over-interpreting micro body language.
CP3 still seems stunned by the whole trade to the Warriors specifically. He kind of bristled at the idea of coming off the bench though he didn't rule anything out. It must be the kind of situation where you don't know how it will work until they're all on the court together and it's about basketball again...
feels like worth bearing in mind that the Lakers and Pelicans were led by second year NBA players... they're supposed to dominate. If you take their rookies (#17 Jalen Hood-Schifino, #40 Maxwell Lewis, and #14 Hawkins) and the #19 Podz, LQ, and Santos, I think that comes out as a more fair comparison. Plus, no TJD

I hope we take Biyombo before they do.

What Podz has shown so far:
- A very good ability to survey the floor and make the necessary passes
- High motor on the glass
What he needs to improve moving forward:
-Needs to be more creative with the ball to get his shot off consistently
-Learn to play more in the system on the defensive end
Luckily, it's only the first few games of his career. He might look a lot better playing with the big boys once he learns our system.

BP 10 pts 10 ast 9 reb
Probably gonna need a missed FT to get the trip-dub.
Podz lookin' for that last rebound for the Dray Triple Double....but yeah, shooting is rough.
Rough sequences for our young bucks to close the game
Team might need to matchup with Charlotte again to get a confidence boost
Stop trying to take charges.
Dubs choking.
Jeebers ... Pels have 35 FT, we have 30 ... in a 40 minute game.
Rough stretch for Santos
Who is this Brockington and why is he twice as fast as everyone else
