Steph Curry’s best games against every team, as rated by Abaddon
Now that’s a lot of highlights
The Warriors released this highlight compilation video: Stephen Curry's Most Iconic Game Against EVERY NBA Team | Golden State Warriors:
Which caused veteran DNHQ commenter Abaddon to unleash this long comment giving his choices for Steph Curry’s best games against each team. It is reproduced here for your pleasure with embedded videos, with his blessing.
Abaddon’s list of Steph’s best games against each NBA team
All comments below are from Abaddon and refer to the original Warriors video above.
The Boston one is obvious and correct, but we shouldn't forget this gem that came before:
For Detroit they picked a pretty meh game IMHO (also the video quality is terrible), I'd have chosen this one:
Houston is a good choice but this one is also good, the first time he really took their souls and crushed them:
Indiana is a good choice but the video quality sucks, here's a better version:
. Also the game he got injured was crazy good before he got hurt:
The LA Clippers game they picked is a great choice, but I would instead choose
, which ranks as Steph's best playoff performance in my blended GameScore/WPA metric and is a playoff game to boot. The half-court shot game would also be a great choice. Honestly with how bad he's cooked the Clippers over the years this particular slot is overflowing with great choices.
The LA Lakers choice is a good one, I like the old-school pick and by my metric it ranks the highest, but I think my pick would be the Game That Does Not Exist AKA the play-in loss to the Lakers:
. Unlike the Clippers, there aren't a ton of good choices in this slot.
Milwaukee is a good choice from not a lot of good options but they omitted his amazing block on Holiday? Better highlight package here:
Minnesota is a reasonable choice but I have to pick the Hot Stove game:
. Also the game Josh Okogie has one of the dirtier plays I can recall against Steph.
New Orleans is a good choice and is easily most iconic, but I'd probably pick
, which kicked off MVP 2.0 and is 6th in my blended metric.
Their Oklahoma City pick is of course the only choice here. For my #2, I'd put in the very underrated Game 6 win at OKC in 2016. Klay takes all the shine for this but Steph "quietly" had a truly phenomenal game, slightly edging out his Game 7 performance due to it being @OKC:
.
Phoenix is a bit of an odd choice for me, it was an OK game and they did win it, but it wasn't really anything special. Maybe "iconic" because it was on Christmas? Anyway, I'd pick the 50 he dropped on them (yes we got blown out) instead:
.
Portland... well, it's hard to go against a career-high 62 points, immediately following Dame Lillard talking about how hard it was going to be for Steph to thrive without all the great players around him. But for most iconic I think I have to pick the "I'm back" game and setting the OT scoring record versus a regular-season game in an empty gym:
. And let's not forget Steph having to play big minutes in his first game back not only because of OT but because Shaun Livingston of all people gets ejected.
The San Antonio pick is a GREAT choice and might be my favorite underrated pick on this list. It tends to get overlooked because of the Kawhi injury, but Steph was absolutely phenomenal in this game and was the only thing keeping them close while San Antonio was threatening to run away. That said, for "iconic", I would choose tying the Chicago Bulls with win #72 @San Antonio, the only home loss for that 67-15 team that prevented them from breaking the Boston Celtics home record. Also the first win at San Antonio in god knows how many games for the Warriors. Full game highlights for this gem here:
.
Toronto, going for 47 is the right choice. My #2 would be his 45 at Toronto in '15. The Warriors really had no business winning this game but Steph just wouldn't allow losing, to go to 21-0 on the season:
. It was performances like these against prominent east coast teams that won him the Unanimous MVP.
The Wizards choice is a good one. My #2 choice would be the Obama Hop game:
. Any time you can get the President of the United States doing a celebration move you make on the court that's pretty damn iconic:

Quinones plays 21 minutes in a loss to Puerto Rico, 13 points on 9 shots, 3 rebounds, and a steal. Assuming it is only 5 fouls in FIBA (is it?) it looks like he fouled out.
Imagine what this Curry kid will do to the league when he eventually rounds into his prime #TwoTimelines #Lightyears
