Totally agree the Underrated is outstanding. informative confirming the special individual he is & his getting to where he is today was a journey that gave me insight to his dedication to his family as well as the team & other players. he truly loves what he does & myself, he gives me pride for who he is & that as part of the Dubs pride that we have this man on our side I didn't think that the story Underrated was going to be the kind of program I would enjoy. well I did & the type of film this was going to be like was nothing like what I thought this film was going to be like. Thank you Steph Curry for being who you are as a family man, individual, a great NBA Player as well as a Dub, that nobody in the league could ever touch your greatness what's in your heart as well as ability & dedication to all you are.
Oh, I like CP3 (now), but it is such a surprising change that I don't think about him when I run though next year's roster in my mind. Go Chris! And, I can't believe that stupid flopping rule, who thought that would be a good idea?
No, but if you want the team to do well, you may end up having to root for CP to succeed -- to be healthy, to contribute, to be his best so that this team can win a championship.
So with the NBA RegSchedge finally out, I need your help.
I'm planning my O.I.A.L trip to see our beloved brethren of the GSW Dynasty live in person! I have a 4 week window (2 weeks either side of new years). If I had to go see one at Chase, which one should I go see???
Also, how quickly do they sell out?
EDIT: Bought tickets for the Wizards Game!! (Want to see JP too) Does DubnationHQ organize a meetup in person?!?
How apt that the most entertaining show going on TV this year, Warrior, just ended its season WHILE the most entertaining team in the NBA, the Warriors, are about to start theirs.
I really think an extended Summer League would help the young players entering/trying to enter the league be better prepared. It’d also be good for the fans (at least us junkies) and the league to maintain interest.
I like your glass half full thinking! I consider it starts when training camp opens, with preseason games quickly to follow. Until they play basketball, we're still waiting.
OT: New video! Two days and nights in Granda, Spain, which is home to one of most spectacular palaces we’ve ever seen, Alhambra. I tried my best to capture its beauty. (Video is 11 minutes).
I had the surreal experience of touring the Alhambra while the twin towers were falling. Also a reminder of how empires and cultures change, and can lose their way. Should have been a lesson for us. Maybe an essay someday…
For me it would depend on how humid those 90’s are. I think it was low to mid 80’s when we were there, but it was dry. If it’s in the 90’s, I’d try to do any outdoor stuff early and probably opt for a shuttle bus up the hill to Granada instead of the walk. Sevilla is pretty flat. We also went to Cordoba for a day (which is our next video, then Sevilla. Are you considering Cordoba?)
All that said, Alhambra for me is right up there with the Acropolis and Machu Pichu as top tier man-made amazing places, and Sevilla was magnificent. Knowing what I know, I’d still want to brave the heat, even if it meant just staying inside at the hottest points of the day. Given our length of our bucket list, we had no idea when we’d be back for another chance to see them.
I think I remember that game. Wasn't that the one where Dell asked Steph to go easy on Charlotte on air before the game? One of the TV people asked Steph about it, and he said 'no promises'. And then blew Charlotte up.
This thing is so long I may never get through it, but in the first 15 min I am impressed with Arenas (never really listened to his podcast before) and amazed by, of all things, a BOBBY SURA reference.
I have an obscure complaint. NBC Bay Area is much better than ESPN and ABC at showing bench reactions. Also ESPN and ABC copy protect their broadcasts in obnoxious ways which make it hard to make E1Ps right after their shows. So basically I strongly prefer local broadcasts.
Ok, so I'm confused about this. The schedule has 2 games left open, and there are 2 tournament elite-8 games scheduled if you make it that far. But, all the rest of the games are scheduled already. Which 2 teams got left off of the schedule based on the standard NBA pattern? And, how are they going to make sure you play the right teams to balance out the schedule in the 2 TBD games or the tourney playoff games? Or, are they just saying we won't necessarily have the same division balance, so you might end up playing, say, 4 games against a division when you normally would have played 3? Or, you might have 42 games against West teams and only 40 against East? Seems like a pretty big puzzle to figure out, and they didn't leave enough games open to make it all fit. Probably doesn't really matter for 2 games out of 82, but I haven't seen anyone talk about how they will fill in the TBD games or tourney play off games to make things balance out.
Yeah, that's odd, because I count 80 fixed games. I thought I read that there was a one week gap in the schedule and the non tourney playoff teams would play their other two games that week. Maybe the NBA template didn't have a way to show that? Guess we'll figure it out when it happens.
Timpf's "Top 25 Players in the NBA: Why Steph Curry is UNSTOPPABLE in the Warriors offense | Hoops Tonight" is up. https://youtu.be/H8zTe-Awi2U
some killer stats. Argues only Steph and Joker are unstoppable - can't be prevented from consistently creating great shots for themselves or teammates.
I love that he used to root against Steph but got won over. Curry seems to have done that to much of the league as well. Of course, it helps that a lot of the young guys grew up trying to emulate him.
I really hope he gets at least one more championship to add to his collection. It would be the stuff of legend.
Well that sucks. And then, you get people complaining that they don't get to see Steph because he is resting. Actually, maybe the younger guys are improved enough that we'll see some good JK MM led victories while the old guard is resting.
So the first 10 games are all in different cities with flights in between (even if 3 are in SF). Then the Warriors don't leave the Western time zone for the next 18 games and 1.5 months (12 home - 6 away). Then Christmas in Denver followed by a 7-game homestand.
So 5-5 start and then 26 games to prove you belong. Also a brutal stretch of travel to conclude the season: @MIN, @MIA, @ORL (B2B), @CHA, @SAS, @DAL, @HOU, UTA, @LAL, @POR, 2 home games. In the dog days of the season.
I guess they think closing out the last two games at home makes up for that 10 game death march? The only saving grace is that there is a 4 game SE swing (minimal travel), then the Texas Triangle, and then they work their way back to the West Coast.
I actually love it when we start with a road-heavy schedule. Get the travel out of the way early in the season, when we're a little fresher.
Last year's early-season issues should not be a problem, I think. Paul and Joseph should pick up the Warriors schemes very quickly. And, Saric can just space out to the 3 point line on offense and play rim protector on defense, until he picks things up. Not exactly rocket science for a player of his caliber.
TJD and Podz can come along at their own pace (unlike last year's force-feeding of Wiseman).
Plus Klay is working out and will be in shape this year AND will have a chip on his shoulder after a disappointing playoff performance. He said as much. JK has a chip on his shoulder too; he wants the minutes, wants 'em badly, and he knows he needs to take that big next step. MM is a cool customer, haven't heard anything from his camp, but his playoff performance indicates he will be better to start this season. We shall see of course.
Yeah ... I think we're going to start fast, too. It's almost guaranteed that we'll start better than last year, given the roster reconstruction (assuming reasonable health, of course).
First 20 games are 10 home and 10 away games. I can see them winning anywhere between 8 and 16 of those, but they do have more continuity than a lot of the opponents , playing teams like the Suns w/ new Brad, OKC w/ new Chet, Wolves with whatever the heck they are doing, NO maybe with Zion finally? Welp, two more months to spend over-analyzing possible predictions, lets go!
Excellent! I just put a bag of popcorn in the microwave and am not ready for this story to be over yet. Hopefully Joel's part of the story starts soon!
Think of what it must be like to be a Sixers fan. Markelle Fultz. Ben Simmons. James Harden. It's like someone over there did something terrible in a previous life...

I love the Warriors
I love Steph Curry
I love his story
I love A24
I don’t love the movie. The story(s), as told, doesn’t work. More like an ESPN special.
But, thanks to Steph, I’m now watching Foundation on AppleTV, one of my favorite sci-fi stories
All good.
I had a thought: wait, is Steph gonna be the oldest player on the team this year? Then I remembered. Still getting used to it.
Oh, I like CP3 (now), but it is such a surprising change that I don't think about him when I run though next year's roster in my mind. Go Chris! And, I can't believe that stupid flopping rule, who thought that would be a good idea?

Is that where you travel around saying “This is not my beautiful house! This is not my beautiful wife!”?
How apt that the most entertaining show going on TV this year, Warrior, just ended its season WHILE the most entertaining team in the NBA, the Warriors, are about to start theirs.
We wish the Dubs were about to start theirs! Tom Petty got it right: the waiting is the hardest part.
Schedule released today. Consider that the unofficial start. Training camp in a few then preseason games then a starting 5 of Paul, Curry,
klay, Wiggins, Draymond
I really think an extended Summer League would help the young players entering/trying to enter the league be better prepared. It’d also be good for the fans (at least us junkies) and the league to maintain interest.

For me the Regular Season starts when the Regular Season ends.
Funny how it used to be that the Regular Season Ended when the Regular Season started.

Almost forgot to watch this one ...
Fabulous!
My mom went to Spain in 1969 or 1970 and she was just blown away by the Alhambra.
She spent most of her time in Madrid (summer Spanish course), but she also went to Segovia, which looked pretty cool, too.
BTW, you are my first Youtube subscription ... if you see one from a protonmail/proton.me account, that's me.
Right on! I don’t think I can see who’s subscribed, but if you leave a comment, we’ll see it.
Going to Spain first 2 weeks of September, trying to decide if Seville/Granada will be too hot (forecast 90+)
Dubs at Charlotte March 29, not a back to back. Can Steph finally get a win playing in his home town?
Won (decisively) there in 15-16.
Yep, so it's been a minute. Seems like he's been out or they've lost for a bunch of years in a row now, he is due for another big game
I think I remember that game. Wasn't that the one where Dell asked Steph to go easy on Charlotte on air before the game? One of the TV people asked Steph about it, and he said 'no promises'. And then blew Charlotte up.

Lol thanks, got me to watch the first 15 minutes!
Hat tip to ESPN: teams with the most nationally televised games this season, with ABC/ESPN games in parentheses:
Warriors 41 (17)
Lakers 40 (17)
Suns 37 (15)
Celtics 35 (15)
Nuggets 30 (13)
Bucks 30 (11)
The Warriors have 13 ESPN games, 12 TNT games, 12 NBA TV games, and 5 ABC games.
Unfortunately, we will have to listen to their announcers.
Hey, it won't be the three stooges on ESPN anymore!
We still get Doris........
This is not obscure. It is a vital part of enjoying Dubs victories.
Ok, so I'm confused about this. The schedule has 2 games left open, and there are 2 tournament elite-8 games scheduled if you make it that far. But, all the rest of the games are scheduled already. Is there more than one tourney playoff game? I thought only the final game was not a regular season game.
There are eight teams in the "playoffs", so I thought there would be two playoff games that are also regular season, and then the final game is extra.
Yeah, that's odd, because I count 80 fixed games. I thought I read that there was a one week gap in the schedule and the non tourney playoff teams would play their other two games that week. Maybe the NBA template didn't have a way to show that? Guess we'll figure it out when it happens.
Gap appears to be between Dec 2-12.

More than 1, baby. This season, with Chris Paul, then next season, with Kuminga in an ascendant role.
oops! this just showed on my feed. . . .
Dalton Johnson (@DaltonJ_Johnson):
"The Warriors have 15 back-to-backs this season
It's their fourth straight season with that many, and their second straight season leading the NBA"
They hate us 'cause they anus.
Perhaps tied to getting them on national games as much as possible?
15 back-to-backs and 9 of them are on the road (one of those, the front-end is at home and the back end is on the road). Ugh.
I would hate to be an anus too.
Lol, both pistons games are the end of a back to back. Maybe we'll get swept by Detroit again.
Well that sucks. And then, you get people complaining that they don't get to see Steph because he is resting. Actually, maybe the younger guys are improved enough that we'll see some good JK MM led victories while the old guard is resting.

Warriors regular season scheduled released.
Mini 3 game road trip after the home opener to start the season.
So the first 10 games are all in different cities with flights in between (even if 3 are in SF). Then the Warriors don't leave the Western time zone for the next 18 games and 1.5 months (12 home - 6 away). Then Christmas in Denver followed by a 7-game homestand.

Hmmm ... that closing stretch borders on sadism.
I guess they think closing out the last two games at home makes up for that 10 game death march? The only saving grace is that there is a 4 game SE swing (minimal travel), then the Texas Triangle, and then they work their way back to the West Coast.
That closing slate is some straight BS.
Effectively an 11 game road trip (travel before 11 consecutive games) before we finally don't have to travel for the last game of the season...
Yeah, the League subconsciously hates the Warriors.
Most b2bs in the league, AGAIN
What is is about the pelicans and second night of a back to back? Two more this year, after I think three times last year
7 of the first 9 games of the season is on the road....
So, basically an initial test to see if this season is going to be a repeat of last season’s road game warriors
I actually love it when we start with a road-heavy schedule. Get the travel out of the way early in the season, when we're a little fresher.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seven_of_Nine
Odd scheduling in November:
2 home games in a row against the Timberwolves (11/12, 11/14/) followed by 2 in row (11/16,11/18) vs Thunder...?
Must make it even more challenging...
Is harden done in the NBA? Harden is giving us NBA fans what we needed in the dog days of summer, content!
Excellent! I just put a bag of popcorn in the microwave and am not ready for this story to be over yet. Hopefully Joel's part of the story starts soon!
