Picling up my ma from the airport but luckily she’s a recent Warriors fan so I expect we will watch together! Likely starting late and won’t be posting as thst would be rude so…. Go Dubs! And see y’all hopefully in the victory thread.
I had commented earlier that Kerr had some killer offensive small ball rotations when Klay gets back but if Klay is anything like his oldself on defense, a GPII, Klay, Wiggins, Iguodala, Green defensive small rotation would be very tough to score on with maybe just enough offense in transition.
There's a cynical side of me that wonders whether the mental health issues that Simmons says he has are an equally cynical play by him and his agency to not play and still get paid.
The thing I haven't seen anyone mention is, well what happens if/when he's eventually traded? Do his mental health issues go away in timely fashion and he starts playing?
And also - if you're an interested trade party team, how do you account for this? How do you factor the possibility that he really is going through mental issues and will not be playing for your team any time in the near future? For instance, I don't know what odds the Warriors had of trading for him, but I think it should not have been off the table, for the right price. I think it should be completely off the table now, until he can resume playing on the court.
I know that a lot of Simmons team strategy to this point has been very counter-productive to their end goal. Without being sure of what's really happening in his mind, I think this might be the most counter-productive to date. Bad decisions compounding them into true no way out land.
Just noting this remains a completely unique and weird story in NBA annals.
A really cool article about Lillard and the offseason. It goes into his family background a bit, and he seems like a real stand-up dude, he's really watching Steph, Giannis, Phoenix Suns closely, and looking for a meaningful accomplishment (read: win it organically, home-grown). Not to say that he wasn't tempted by a trade, and he still might in the future if the organization doesn't deliver, but in the meantime he's betting on himself.
I have an invitation to a social event this evening. I'm not even sure I like the people, but I thought I'd give it a try, while being aware that there's a Warrior game I could watch instead. But: it's the Pelicans. SO: requesting permission to not watch this one and still remain DNHQ member in good standing.

Looking forward to tonight...hope Steph is well enough to drop 40 in 3/4 or so....
Great analysis, Duby. Hey, is Daniel still with Dub Nation HQ, or, just double-dipping over at Lost Nation... I like his stuff...
