My main issue with what I have seen so far can be said with simple stats:

Q1: 60.0 3PAr, -14

Q2: 50.0 3PAr, -2

Q3: 47.6 3PAr, -3

Q4: 42.8 3PAr, +25

Obviously this may just be the vets mainly caring about getting the routine of the plays in over actually making the best choice, but if Kerr's plan is indeed to hyperagressively aim for threes, we are going to lose a lot of winnable games this season and I don't think we have the margin for that.

Kerr’s plan has never been to hyper-aggressively aim for threes.

That is objectively untrue, in particular in 2022-23 we had a 3PAr of .479 and often exchanged good mid-range or close-range opportunities for long-range shots which lost us a few games.

I only caught the first half, but here's some thoughts on what I did see:

*The Blazers will sneak up on teams. Their defense is legitimately excellent and when their 3PAs go down, they're gonna upset some teams.

*The starting lineup was intriguing. We certainly didn't see enough to learn one way or the other, but I did like how active Moses was. He had a number of efforts where he got hand on ball at the start of the game, even if they weren't recorded stocks.

*The Podz/GPII/Buddy/JK/Post lineup? Yeah fire that one into the sun. Podz can't be the lead ball handler and both GPII and Podz have superpowers that enhance balanced high IQ lineups. That lineup is not that.

*I thought JK had the right mindset coming into the game. He was looking to make the right pass and he was especially fighting for rebounds. He just settled a little too much for the 3PA, and was involved in 3 (!) dumb inbounding turnovers. I think he needs at least one of the seasoned vets on the floor with him at any given time. He needs to get those easy cuts to the basket for a dunk or two.

*I still think the biggest hole on the team is a self creator who can take a load off of Steph and Jimmy. The only lineups I am confident in have one of those two on the floor (if not both). We're not getting that for 80 games this season.

Do you live in the Bay Area? Are you available to see the Warriors Open Practice event tomorrow? If you do and if you are, can I interest you in two tickets (EXCLUDING PARKING because the parking ticket is non-transferable)?

FIRST TO REPLY WILL GET THE TICKETS.

If nobody else wants them, I have a friend in the Bay Area who might.

Not YOU, though? If YOU can't, I just need to confirm that your friend is a Warriors fan. And you said MIGHT. I'd like to give the tickets to someone who will definitely go. If your friend can go, then I'll need an email address to transfer the tickets. Can you send it to me privately through Substack?

FIRST, but I decline; would have to drive to Athens, and there simply isn't enough flying time to get to my home den in the Bay Area...nonetheless, you must be one nice guy HOMER...

Man, it is a deal I would love to take...I have never been at DUBS GAME, THIS ERA; practice is even better...Overseas most of the time...

DUBS were 12-37 from deep in the 3rd quarter; our ''closing'' lineup shot the 3pter 7-8 in the 4th, and team finished 19-45, and a respectful 42%!

Which counts more, the preseason or the in season tournament

Well I don’t think a team that’s gone 0-5 or 1-4 or whatever in the preseason has ever won the (real, not in-season) championship, so I’d say preseason.

Pat Spencer should have been on the ballot for WW. The way he ran the team in the 4th was masterful. He's the reason LJ and QP were able to go off.

Maybe replace Butler and Steph with Spencer and Gui.

I thought Steph was ineligible for WW because otherwise he'd win most of the time, and nobody else would have a fair chance (except maybe Jimmy).

I will refrain from voting for WW as long as King Spencer is snubbed. An absolute travesty! I almost broke into a war cry when he got fouled and came up beating his chest after bringing us back from 21pts to give us the lead!!

Missed the first half so was curious what happened to have us down 16. Sounds like a combo of sloppy play, some ineffective lineups and Blazers shooting the 3 ball well? Oh well, nice to see the young guys rally. Will Richard might have a little spark plug off the bench capability in him. Cryer can hoop I just don’t trust his decision making against real NBA defenses yet.

Well-done, ERIC, only you are able to make a positive deadline out of the game we saw tonight. Methinks PAT turned it around/pulled the MESS together, tonight, though; voted for CRYER, as PAT didn't even make the ballot...
