Clippers beat the Suns 138-111. Suns are now 19-18 and 5-12 against teams with winning records. Clippers are 23-13 and remain on top of the Pacific division.
"Draymond is one of my favorite people in the world because he's loyal, someone who will always have your back, and he holds everyone accountable...It's hard for me to hear the way people have spoken about Draymond."
Pretty insane. There was a rumor that Poole was no longer in Washington's plans (duh), PBJ isn't getting much run, and Rollins is gone. And those trades were under their new GM, I believe.
Got rid of Beal (and that contract) and got a FRP, 4x swaps, and 6 second round picks… and 2 years of JP tank commander before they trade him? Not terrible… lol.
Yeah. It was a swing and a miss but I'd make the same gamble if I was in their position. They had nothing to lose. If JP turned out to be a Maxey that's a major score and if he sucks then they can just eat it. They're nowhere near ready to compete anyways
I disagree. CP3 could have done the same thing for the Wiz that he does for the Dubs. The Wiz are young and need a leader like CP3. Now, it's a complete blowup with no direction home, like a Rolling Stone................
I sorta forgot that Draymond is good. He's such a distraction and when he's being ... the way that he gets ... he is hard to root for. So then I just started living my life without him. And I fell into a pattern of analyzing what's wrong with the Hapless Mopes By the Bay, when all of sudden, who should appear but ... the guy who's going to pull this shipwreck out of the flames of its ineptitude? Will he? What say ye?
Kerr’s jedi mind trick of tanking the last few games is already working to rehab Dray’s image. Currently wondering if Curry was an accomplice in Kerr’s manipulation
A big difference in behavior as far as I'm aware of is that Draymond's negative behaviors have been on the court, against people his own size. Ja's behaviors have been off the court, against people of less power, and with weapons. I believe both of them can grow past doing such things, but that seems like a significant difference.
Do we really care what a player does off the court? That is a police matter and should be punishable if wrong doing is found. Draymond does his on national TV and he has a supporting cast of fans and players who somehow condone this kind of behavior. But maybe you'd like Big Brother to interfere in everyone's life, monitoring how much merit making they do or don't do?
He actually sucker punched a 17yo kid, or encouraged his buddy to do so (still in the courts on this one), threatened a footlocker security guard, and was in the car with somebody trained a laser (prob attached to a gun) on Pacers security guards… he’s waaayyy worse
We're getting to a point where it's almost too late to make a push for the top half of the conference. Unless we rip off 12-15 straight which I doubt I can't see us keeping pace. Plus we already know the Lakers are going to pull off some magical trade and get hot
Yeah, only difference is that team showed they were capable and had things already set in place. We never really established anything and have been in soul searching mode since the first 8 games
It's pretty much playin tournament or bust. We'd have to play 10% better than Dallas to have a shot at the 6th seed, and there are 5 other teams in between us and Dallas.
And we have six more road games than home for the rest of the year.
Not me....if someone had told me end of last season we'd be undone 1/3 into the season by the combination of a Kerr-longer-than-last-season-overexperimentation, a Dray/Wiggs/CP3/GP2 injuries, and, NBA FO penalties, I would have bet against it...
The latest Lowe Post w/ Kendra Andrews is basically a must listen — about as deep a dive into the good, the bad, and the ugly of the Warriors this season as you’ll find in the national media.
In semi-related news, my god, Sam and Andy have been more annoying than ever this season. Like, if you have nothing to offer beyond hyperbole and empty catch phrases like “what are we doing here?” and no posture/attitude other than that of bored, miserable adolescent who thinks everything is stoopid, why not just take a sabbatical? Do people really enjoy listening to other people act bored? They pop up on my Spotify feed and I often tap play against my better instincts, but I’ve figuratively “gonged” them less than 5 minutes in several times this season.
I have heard bits and pieces of Drays “apology” podcast. While I remain skeptical, I think he sounds genuinely sorry and feels terrible for what he did. I hope he can change and we see a great draymond back to turn this season around.
Evidently, he wanted to retire but Adam Silver talked him out of it. Dray said this is too much. This still doesn't sound like a guy that is ready to change or has grasped what it is that got him to this place.
I was pretty much done with Draymond and very skeptical that it was all a show, but his podcast today changed my mind. He seemed heartfelt and sincere, and included a lot of personal tidbits that there’s no way he would have included if he was just doing a boilerplate apology.
I highly recommend the whole thing. It gets pretty touching.
Draymond's next game will be the 3rd game this year without Wiggins starting next to him. First two were the B2B LAC games, where the Warriors went 1-1 with a +5 net rating in a home-and-home against a hot Clippers squad that included a blown 22 point lead.

Suns should trade KD to us for CP3+salary fillers.
Why? Just because 🙂.
Clippers beat the Suns 138-111. Suns are now 19-18 and 5-12 against teams with winning records. Clippers are 23-13 and remain on top of the Pacific division.
Clips are looking like what we expected the Suns to be. Suns are looking like what we expected the Clips to be.
Clipps are bona fide contenders.
Clippers 3 HOFers have found their stride....
They definitely have. They have 4 future HOFers though unless you are not counting Westbrick.
Are you counting Paul George?
Russ is a lock, annoying as he can be.

As it should be. It's surprising to me how little he really speaks up and when he does, he doesn't make much sense. No leadership there.

The Wizards are planning to waive guard Ryan Rollins this evening, a source told
@TheAthleticNBA
No harm in offering him a spot in Santa Cruz
Waive Robinson and give him a 2 way
He can’t be any worse than Robinson. Or Cory Joseph.
Joseph might actually be worse than Wanamaker or Chiozza. To date, anyway.
Joseph holds on to the ball, a rare quality these days.
Pretty insane. There was a rumor that Poole was no longer in Washington's plans (duh), PBJ isn't getting much run, and Rollins is gone. And those trades were under their new GM, I believe.
They had a bad offseason last summer.
"Bad" is super kind. Unless they are trying to tank, that's a horrid summer.
Well, they should be trying to tank so job well done on that front.
Got rid of Beal (and that contract) and got a FRP, 4x swaps, and 6 second round picks… and 2 years of JP tank commander before they trade him? Not terrible… lol.

You're right. I forgot about the Beal trade.
I don't know that you want to be paying a tank commander $32 mil a year, though.
You gotta meet league minimums now… can’t tank without a highly paid commander. An they’d like to trade him before that $32M season
OMG.
If you can't make it with the Wizards, I worry.
he's done nothing but succeed both in his limited minutes and in the G league... seems like they're just stupid.
Otoh if you can't succeed in the environment, I understand.
I sorta forgot that Draymond is good. He's such a distraction and when he's being ... the way that he gets ... he is hard to root for. So then I just started living my life without him. He started the season by stating this is the most important season of his career. Not sure what he meant though ?
No reason to analyze it.
He shall
AMEN. Duby said it best...Last shot at a reset for this team....
Wow, Utah led all throughout the game and beat the Bucks by 16 points. Utah just bumped us down to 12 ☹️
Utah has found its stride, and is playing some serious team ball...33 assists...20 3pters at 50 percent....
Any clarity on how long GP2 and CP3 will be out?
Yes, until they heal.
4-6 weeks for CP3
GP2 is at "several weeks"
Half of our team is just old. Sigh.
Oh Frak - Ja is out for rest of the season because of season ending injury.
So we are going to lose 4 games against Grizz because we will play to their level.
They gonna be tanking now?
Can we get JJJ from there ?
They’re not giving him up…
They signed Isaiah Thomas
Oh, that sucks. Best wishes to him for a full recovery.
Man, if Memphis didn't have bad luck, they wouldn't have any luck at all.
Not a good news for PGs. Haliburton got hurt tonight after slipping on the ground and hurting his hamstring.
Oh man, that massively sucks. Hamstring strains can really hang on, too.
Even though Ja has become a villain and I love to see MEM lose, his basketball play is electric and this is a huge loss for the league.
Is he as bad as Draymond?
By a factor of 10 or more.
A big difference in behavior as far as I'm aware of is that Draymond's negative behaviors have been on the court, against people his own size. Ja's behaviors have been off the court, against people of less power, and with weapons. I believe both of them can grow past doing such things, but that seems like a significant difference.

Grizz are garbage without ja. We usually win close ones against those teams
Garbage? They beat the Suns last game without Ja.
Man Suns catching strays
They’re 7-20 without Ja.
Wiggins wasn't even "good" enough to get onto the Ringer's five least improved players article, although he got an honorable mention.
Whoa Ja out for season with labrum tear in shoulder
Oof. Heal up young fella. Sucks on the human side but on the basketball side, that's one less team in competition with us for a play in spot.
This is so sad that at best we’re probably looking at a play in spot
We're getting to a point where it's almost too late to make a push for the top half of the conference. Unless we rip off 12-15 straight which I doubt I can't see us keeping pace. Plus we already know the Lakers are going to pull off some magical trade and get hot
Probably true although things looked grim in '21-'22 before we went on a late run just in time.
Yeah, only difference is that team showed they were capable and had things already set in place. We never really established anything and have been in soul searching mode since the first 8 games

I don’t know if I even trust this team to turn it around for a 7/8 spot. This Draymond return will really determine how this season will go.
There’s no time for getting him re-accustomed to the team. Got to hit the ground running
Oh no! And also Hali getting an MRI tomorrow per Woj.
At halftime the Pacers announced it was a hamstring strain. I guess we'll find out how bad tomorrow.
He basically did a dance split. Ouch! Sad to see him get hurt. I thought he could make a run for MVP.
Ugh, that would be truly sad.
He had to be carried off the floor…
Woah…
Dame sitting out tonight, and Jazz up 12 in the 4th… we’re gonna be 12th in the West by the end of the night…
Who would have thought we’d be 11th seed 2/5 of the season because of our cores bad play/stupidity
Many thought this and still do.
My October prediction for the Dubs was: No way they’re making a PlayOff run, and it’ll be a challenge to make the Play-In.
Received a mess of replies ranging from dismissive to aggressive.
Sanguine, then and now.
You were cooking.
(Still think the Warriors are making a playoff run though.)
Not me....if someone had told me end of last season we'd be undone 1/3 into the season by the combination of a Kerr-longer-than-last-season-overexperimentation, a Dray/Wiggs/CP3/GP2 injuries, and, NBA FO penalties, I would have bet against it...
You thought that one of the best 5 man lineups the past 2 years would become horrible?
Congrats… want a cookie and a free spin on the “who’s my new favorite NBA team” wheel?
12th seed

Hope we don't have to wait as long between rings as the 2014/15 team had to wait. 40 years!

Thank goodness for Zach Lowe and DNHQ!
I've never listened to them but they are hot take artists on Twitter...which is basically the only way to get attention there.
I won’t listen to Liu but surprised Sam has stooped down to his level
I know, same. That may be what bugs me most about it. Sam used to push back and be a voice of moderation more.
To be fair, "What are we doing here?" is a question that has vexed human kind from time immemorial.
It's a pretty dumb question if you ask me. My mother never asked me that question.
>> Sam and Andy ....
Absolutely agree. I have stopped listening to them.

I don't think it is apology podcast. It is "here is my story/what's been happening behind the scenes" podcast. And that's alright with me.
Hopefully this podcast reduces the million questions media is gonna ask him in next presser.
Not sure what really happens on the court but atleast he is acknowledging what he is not doing right.
I was pretty much done with Draymond and very skeptical that it was all a show, but his podcast today changed my mind. He seemed heartfelt and sincere, and included a lot of personal tidbits that there’s no way he would have included if he was just doing a boilerplate apology.

Accepted your rec and glad I did, thanks.
Dray has been ''touching'' for me for a decade as he manhandled the league's Goliaths and brought home 4 rings...
Draymond's next game will be the 3rd game this year without Wiggins starting next to him. First two were the B2B LAC games, where the Warriors went 1-1 with a +5 net rating in a home-and-home against a hot Clippers squad that included a blown 22 point lead.
FWIW*, Moody started in both of those games. Has also started two games with Wiggins. Warriors 3-1 with a +9.75 point differential in those games.
*I don't actually think it's worth that much.
I am not sure if Draymond will start in his first game back.
And once Dray is back to starting, I won't be surprised if Wiggs is back in starting lineup along with one of JK or Loon.
Podz was needed in the starting lineup because of need for secondary ball handler. Dray will do that.
This is true…
🥺
I'd really like to give Moody a chance to start at sf, see what we have there.
If they don’t want to play JK at the 3, give it to Moody till Wiggins is consistent…
Boo…
