OT: Wow millions of people posting videos of missiles/drones flying over the entire country of Israel. This was supposed to be a proportional response to Israel attacking the Iranian embassy in Syria? One building outside of Iran vs. inside the borders of Israel threatening millions of lives? I'm usually pro-Palestine and think Israel is a bunch of jerks, but this was a huge escalation by Iran.

Not sure if posted but: "'Error' led to extra time on clock in Lakers win vs. Grizzlies" https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/39937307/error-led-extra-clock-lakers-win-vs-grizzlies

My favourite bit: "The error was not noticed in real time by the teams, the referees, the game clock operator or the stats crew. "

I would add: or fans or the announcers or anyone on any plane of existence. . . . .

No clear advantage for either team they say (extra playing time though for the old guys).

So, the #7-8 matchup can legitimately be called a play-in game, since the winner gets *in* to the playoffs. Ditto the third (final) play-in game. But shouldn’t the #9-10 matchup be called a “play-out” game?

One more note from SF Chron, this from Sam Gordon:

Play-in scheduling: A scheduling conflict in Philadelphia could alter the timing of the NBA’s play-in tournament games.

Should the 76ers finish the season as the Eastern Conference’s No. 7 seed, the Western Conference play-in games would both be played Tuesday because the NHL’s Flyers are scheduled that night to play at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center.

===========

So, would we rather play on Tuesday, and get an extra day of rest before the 2nd play in game? Feels like a win, especially if they sit a bunch of guys tomorrow. But, the East is crazy with 3 teams tied from 5 to 7 and another team one game behind at 8, so it seems like Philly staying in 7th is actually not that likely.

Tidbits from Ann Killion article on MDJ's first year:

“I would say there’s nothing taxing about Steph — I’ll take that guy any day of the week, at any point in his career,” Dunleavy said. “We have to figure out how we build around him, because he’s going to be here — he’s going to be here forever. We have to take that all into account. But there’s a lot worse guys you could see the tail end of their career with.”

Myers and Kerr said one of Dunleavy’s greatest strengths is his ability to communicate at every level, in every direction — owners, players, agents, staff, coaches. And collaborating with Curry is a key part of the job.

“We communicate,” Dunleavy said. “I respect his opinion. He’s a guy I lean on. He’s not the type to veto. He never goes over the bound of saying, ‘we’ve got to do this’ or ‘we shouldn’t do that.’ He may support things, but there are never any mandates or demands. It’s not his personality.”

Gotta give props to the NBA for scheduling all the games at the same time tomorrow so some teams aren't able to know their fate and rest guys.

That Lakers game is unbelievable.

The Lakers played it like a game 7 with AD and Lebron going over 40 minutes.

Memphis had a G league team with none of their top 7 or 8 players playing unless I missed something. Wow. Shows how scary any one game situation can be.

I mean the Warriors are 5 -21 against the top 7 teams in the west.

Curry looked like a turnover machine against the Pelicans playoff defense.

The Warriors main guy is a 36 year old 6-3 guard and he and his teammates are lacking the size and athleticism needed to get through the west at this point in time. We will see but the 5-21 along with the eye test is pretty compelling.

Curry is my favorite player ever but he has always been scary turning the ball over vs pressure and I think it could get a bit worse as he ages.

It is a mystery to me that a guy who is such an unbelievable ball handler makes the bad passes he is prone to.

As I said my opinion is they cannot beat those teams in a 7 game series if healthy.

I can care less about Vegas odds.

Or maybe I should just say those teams are just better and over 7 games it will be clear.

I am one of the few here who thinks Steph is going to have a difficult time being a dominant player in the playoffs.

I hope I am wrong and maybe Luka shoots 35% or Lebron suddenly ages, etc. etc..

The beauty of sports is the unexpected happening.

Poll time...would you rather be:

#9 and host LAL

or

#10 and go to SAC?

I think #10.

Kings are 16.5(!!) point favorites over the Blazers. From my rudimentary research there have only been 5 bigger point spread upsets in the last 30 years. Lol.

The biggest was Portland beating Minnesota last year as 19.5 point underdogs.

Basketball reference still thinks there's a 9% chance the Warriors get #8. Playoff status has it at 5%.

So you're saying there's a chance!

Can't wait for Trey Murphy and CJ McCollum to go like 3/20 against the Lakers

The Pels are a very good team this season. Before last night's game, they were #10 in offense and #8 in defense. I had a feeling we were going to struggle last night due to the Pels defense and shooting and the fact that the Warriors have been travelling all over the country in the past 12 games.

Warriors with only one of Curry, CP3, or Podziemski on the floor last night: +26, can check the math here if you want:

Kerr's obsession with ballhandling cost them the game imo. It will probably be like this for the rest of the Curry era unless Dunleavy can find a ballhandling wing/forward/big that Kerr can lean on instead. I miss you, Iguodala.
