Well I respectfully disagree. This particular mix of players in combination with the Warriors system is incredibly challenging. This is not standard coaching issues by any means.

What Kerr is confronted with now is many degrees more difficult than anything he did in the past when he had the best talent in the NBA but managed it very well.

Kerr has an almost unsolvable problem.

This roster has become potentially a legit contender but it depends on so many things going just right.

Who do they start ?

Who finishes?

How many minutes does everyone get?

It is maybe the most difficult coaching situation I have ever seen in terms of playing time.

JK seems to believe he is NBA elite now.

Klay thinks every shot he takes is good because he is Klay Thompson.

Steph is taking too many ridiculous high degree difficulty shots and he and Klay feel 100 pct entitled about it.

Green is Green so good luck with that.

Wiggins has issues but has to become playoff Wiggins for them to succeed.

Looney,Saric,TJD and Green playing minutes at the 5.

Is Podz now basically treated like a vet?

This ship is going to have some rough seas and the odds are not good it will get to its destination.

Kerr will have to do one of the best coaching jobs in NBA history and have a lot of good fortune with injuries.

This seems not like some otherworldly coaching challenge, but standard coaching issues, to me.

To rephrase what you're saying: there are many talented players on the roster. Yet each of them has weaknesses.

Most of them would like to play more and would like to shine in their role; yet its imaginable that they have potential to win it all.

Is that the worst situation? Better than having crap players. Better than having players who don't want to believe in themselves.

As for one doing of the best coaching jobs in NBA history, Kerr has already proven he can do that.

Early game, we built a deficit with terrible turnovers before the bench took advantage of the non-Jokic minutes to get us back in. Then most of the game was close.

The refereeing was actually good for the most part. I think Kerr makes a good point that what counts as a defensive foul is kind of dumb. But also, probably over half of those fouls on Jokic were legitimately fouls, because he's just so hard to guard.

In the 4th quarter, the deciding factor for me was the Splash Bros missing quality shots. Call it Christmas Curry if you like, they weren't on and it cost us the game.

Wiggins looked ok. He started out a little rough and looked a little discombobulated on D but he stuck with it and had some nice scores while playing ok defense. Still, I wanted to see Kuminga in the game for crunch time.

Not a hugely disappointing game, but it sure would be nice to have won the game. Gonna have to play a little better to do that.

Disappointed by the Jokic grift at half court, and getting the Steph offensive foul the most. There were some “I’m gonna run into a guy knowing he’s not in defensive position and flail”. It’s not really basketball, but playing the refs.

Curry/Podz/Klay/Kuminga/Looney has a -8.2 net rating in 78 minutes so far, not much different than the version with Green and Wiggins.

Podz will keep starting for as long as Draymond is out for the ballhandling (unless they decide to slot CP3 in instead), but I don't see this lineup sticking around once Draymond is back.

Maybe the two non-shooter lineup does work because it limits the amount of mouths to feed. Use it to get the shooters in a rhythm and then play the rest of the game with the one non-shooter lineups.

What’s the data on the lineup with TJD instead of Looney. That lineup has gotten minutes right? Also keep in mind, Steph has not been great recently. If he was scoring like the beginning of the season when he had Wiggs in there messing everything up, it’d probably look way better

JK sounds a little frustrated with his minutes...

This seems like a mountain out of a molehill. He thinks he's a good player and wants to play more but accepts that it's not his decision. Sounds EXACTLY like I would want him to think. This is not being a malcontent. It's wanting to contribute more and play more. Good for him. He's earning it.

We may have to make a trade just to keep people happy. Too many players and not enough minutes. Moody isn’t getting minutes now and when Draymond and GP2 come back, that’s less minutes for Kuminga, Wiggins (unless he turns it around), and TJD.

I think there are some real fit issues for Kuminga on a full strength Warrior roster and that a trade would make sense, but who knows how Dunleavy operates. Maybe the Warriors keep everyone because they think they can win a title with this group, but I personally do not think Kuminga is on the team at the start of next season. No that does not mean I'm saying Kuminga is not a useful player, but this isn't fantasy basketball and it might be really hard to give Kuminga the minutes he wants with both GP2 and Draymond back. And Kuminga should want them because he's playing for a future contract right now.

Cut out most of the article and just kept the Kuminga quotes:

> “I’ma keep it real with you, me with the ball, nobody’s guarding me.”

> “But sometimes,” Kuminga said, “I’ve gotta take that away to make sure my OGs get the ball. That’s where it’s confusing. Sometimes, I come out the game not knowing what I did. And that messes with my head. It’s like, ‘What they want me to do?’ I can pass and I can do different s—.”

> “Yeah, I am a difference-maker,” Kuminga said. “I know I am. But it’s not up to me to do certain things. How can I say it? It’s not up to me to control my minutes. I feel like I’ve done that. But the last voice ain’t mine. And it’s not easy because I know how to score the basketball. I know how to pass. I know how to do different things on the floor. But it’s about putting all that together. With the people we have on the floor, it’s just tough to put it all together. I’m trying to figure out how to manage that.”

> “We are good, man,” Kuminga said. “We can beat anybody in this league and make everybody feel that ain’t nothing changed. We’re still that good. It’s getting better. We just have to figure it out.”

Besides Curry,

Kuminga is the reason I watch the Warriors. For me he’s their best defender and their most exciting “paint” or post up player. At 21 you seriously cannot give up now. We give Curry the 100 yr veteran some slack for his crap performance, let the coaches give the 3yr one too.

Weird… he’s playing 24mpg in December, and only not finishing games when Wiggins is on one. If he really wants a 34mpg role that bad, I guess we have to trade the guy.

Luka was AWESOME with a 50pt X-MAS Day historic performance....which drops 14-15 SUNS to 11th place in the West, and keeps the 15-15 DUBS in 10th, play-in, place! THANK YOU, CONGRATS, and MERRY X-MAS, MR. LUKA!

Weird game. Wiggs plays well. Steph and Klay play like crap, and we almost pull off the win. Refs … yea I don’t know what they were smoking but I am sure it’s still illegal.

Steph hits a vague facsimile of a Steph number of threes and the Dubs win that game. Then what would everyone be saying?

Mavs beat the Suns 128-114. Mavs move to 18-12 and 10-6 on the road while the Suns fall to 14-15 and 7-9 at home.

Merry Christmas folx. I just speedwatched the replay. Not much to add aside from what's already been said, except for Q1. The defense by the starting unit was atrocious to start the game. That 9-0 start to the game? It was all Klay and Steph just not paying attention. It was pretty awful to watch, then rewind, like... how the hell did Porter get that open? Oh, b/c Klay spaced. How did they get a strong side 3-2? Oh, b/c Steph lost his man and stayed on the weak side.

It was ugly. They picked it up later, but those lost points cost them the game in spite of shitty ass shooting by the Splash bros.

I'll post the CPR Report tomorrow. Happy Holidays, y'all.

I’m imagining tonight’s game as Game 1 of a playoff series in which Draymond and GP2 will be back next game. I’d hardly be panicking, especially when it could have turned on Steph and Klay still having shitty shooting nights, but making just one more 3-pointer each. If I’m Dunleavy and ask myself if I can ride with these guys, I’d say “Yes, I Can If Frank Sinatra I mean, Steph Curry Says It's OK". Cause Steph calls the shots for all of those guys.

Why does Kerr start Steph on Christmas? Or at the very least give him the ZaZa starting treatment. You know he’s going to be bad, let the fans see him for a quarter and then let him get to his family.
