What would Portland look like with Dray? Dame has been lobbying for him for a long time. Can you imagine Dray feeding Dame and Simmons? Not that it's going to happen, but if Dray ever did move, Portland is in my top 3.

Loved this play by Kuminga. Dray hits him with the hit ahead. He’s patient, makes a great read and frees up Klay with the handoff/screen.

THIS is really getting the system. Make the easy pass. You just gotta know where they are.

On a slightly other topic, I was kind of surprised that GP2 once he got his ring made no acknowledgment of the Warriors, but only went over to get congratulations from the Blazers. I understand that’s his new team and his new allegiance, but the Warriors are the ones who got him the ring. Just kind of surprised.

Dame: “He’s Seeing That It’s Tough To Get Those Quality Looks Right Now… It’s Different Than What It’s Looked Like The Last 4-5 Years.”

Steph: “I took that personally” and scored 62 points on Dame’s Blazers.

Dame: “I’m the second best shooter ever”

Klay: “I took that personally” and scored 31 (which happens to be 62 divided by Klays rank on the “best shooters ever” list)

CJ: “Bro, Dame, I been hitting 3s better than you for my whole career. Check how many 3s I hit tonight, it’s a clue.” And hits 11 3s, the number on the back of the jersey of the second best shooter ever.

OT: Not sure if it has been posted. Andre says that he will be back on court in 2023, that he might just pop up on the court like DJ Clue or DJ Khalid. Hopefully he can play meaningful minutes in Playoffs.

With the Hawks coming to town, it occurs to me that not that long ago, there was a debate in the NBA community as to who won the Luka-Trae trade. I would say that conversation is extremely over.

I was wondering who would win on this ring night. The defending champs won on ring night. Again.

Home cooking!

For some reason the Warriors seemed destined to take the win even when the Blazers had the lead; and momentum doesn’t usually turn back again in NBA regular season games. The refs stayed relatively quiet and let them hustle and what a home court crowd!

Loved that game!

(By the way, our Italian scout Stefano Gelati explained to me how to properly pronounce DDV's last name in Italian. However, I have since listened to Donte say his own name and he says it in the Americanized way (z not ts sound for the z), so I'm following Donte's version...)

Last time Steph came back from extended injury absence, he came off the bench, and it went pretty well… just sayin’

I’ll take another 16-6 stretch, please.

All through the summer as we lost guys in free agency I kept saying, “We’ll be OK if we can get Ty Jerome and Anthony Lamb on two- way contracts.”

Now I know some people may argue that I didn’t say those exact words, and that’s fair; or that I didn’t mention BOTH Jerome and Lamb in any one post, and that’s fair, too; or that I had no idea who either of these players were, and that’s fair, sure.

But! But that’s all sour grapes. The point is: I called it.

I know Portland had minimal rim protection, but Jordan seems to have really found ways to finish better and not get his shot blocked by mixing speeds, pump fakes, drawing contact…

If we somehow get through this home stand undefeated, we’ve got a relatively easy first three road games before the Celtics game. We are only 5 games back of #1 seed in the west. That could easily be down to 2 or 3 by the end of January.

When asked about his approach to defending Damion Lillard, Donte DiVincenzo’s answer was:

“I knew I had Draymond behind me.”
