Mavericks beat the Hawks today 112-106. Mavs' starters played a lot of minutes. I wonder if it's gonna affect the way they're gonna play tomorrow?

This thread feels like Reddit or GSOM with all the whining. We were looking good, then we lost our only remaining big man. On to the next game

Is JaVale available? He's buried on the Cavs' bench, and we could use him right about now...

Obre, Poole, and Chris for a return of Barnes?

How about this: Screw bigs. What would it take to get Haliburton and Barnes and build a new death lineup of smart players?

I'm glad some of the heat is finally shifting away from Kerr and onto the front office where it belongs. The Smailagic saga has been a nepotistic embarrassment and the chickens are unfortunately coming home to roost.

Paying two second rounders to draft a guy who would have went undrafted if they kept their mouths shut in Smailagic (one of which could have been used for a player at the deadline this season) was embarrassing, but even worse was immediately giving him a roster spot instead of putting him on a two-way contract or stashing him somewhere. And now he's taking up the roster spot that should have been used on a veteran big man before the season. A 19 year old high school center, two undersized centers (one with an extensive injury history), and Smailagic. And Chriss' injury was a fluke, but it was over a month ago.

If they had the vet center and that center also got injured, I'd call it bad luck. This isn't bad luck imo, it's bad roster management.

I had joked about these new throwback jerseys having a nostalgic feel of playing fast paced and getting out rebounded... you can add playing small to that list now... I blame the jerseys.

Until we get our big men back, let's enjoy a re-enactment of We Believe, starring...

Steph as BD

Oubre as Stack-but-probably-closer-to-Pietrus

Wiggins as JRich

JTA as Matt Barnes

Dray as Better-defensively-but-cannot-score-like-Al Harrington

Man, the takes on here and GSOM are more volatile than the team right now.

For God's sakes people we were down to 10 healthy bodies in Q3 and no one over 6'8" and barely lost. Can we lighten up before claiming the year is lost? We still have 61 games to go and have a great shot of being a top 6 team in the West.

Let's just hope we don't see any fatigue related injuries in the next 10 days.

Wiggins had a bad game and everyone's trading him. And I didn't think it was all that bad. Oubre, OTOH, I'm pretty sure doesn't fit at this point, with or without Klay. When we get closer to the deadline, Myers should be burning up the lines trying to get something of value for his expiring contract.

Steph is up to a .633 TS%. That's his 5th (!!) best year of his career. Compared to shooting league average, he's added 61 points to the Warriors. Compared to shooting league average, Kelly Oubre's shooting has cost the Dubs 56 points. Oof. Big oof.

This will be a great test stretch. No more messing around. Time to execute and play as a team.

The Warriors were pretty good on offense. They outscored Boston in the paint and took open shots. Boston made some tough contested shots, but the D on the second unit gave up too many open looks and that carried on.

Would be nice if Kerr added the no Paschall and Oubre rule to his no Wiseman and Oubre rule. It leads to too many defensive breakdowns. Maybe Wannamaker, Lee, Wiggins, Bazemore, Paschall can swap one of the wings for JTA and sub Oubre in for Paschall?

Maybe it’s glorification, but that unit felt more cohesive on D with no starters playing in it earlier this season then Wiggins would come on half way through.

It's disappointing how down many are after we went toe to toe with an arguably superior team down three of our four big men, lost our fourth big man, and "everyone (except Steph) sucks and the sky is falling".

Yeah, it sucks, and not having any of our four big men available for the upcoming Texas road trip likely spells 1-3 or 0-4. A team with 10 players available and no big men is going to have big holes that get exploited by our opponents. Doesn't mean the players are inherently flawed and incapable of winning at a high level.

Steph is a god at basketball. Its a shame that the team has so much money but cant find another all star to pair with him. Wiggs aint, dray aint.

And steph will only have 1 or 2 more years of this level.

Next year, When klay comes back, we still have to find another guy who can create his own shoot..

Nobody can attack the basket and create. Wanamaker and dray are passers. Oubre is just an energy guy. Right now we are a jump shooting team.

Wiggins is alergic at contact, can pass a little. Perhaps if he plays the pick and roll could be more efective at the rim....

And stop with wiseman and the pick, they could be ready when steph is out of the league..

You know, it would be lovely for the fans to hear what the Warriors are thinking and if they've identified a real need for the team. For me, it's obvious. They need a big guy who has got some game. How they get him, I don't care, but they've got to get that player. Why doesn't the FO or Kerr ever identify their shortfall by name? If it's another C or PF, say it. SG or PG, say it.

Draymond is a flat out bust on scoring. Somehow, I can't wrap my head around the idea that he is behind the success of the Warriors. It's never one guy unless you are MJ or Lebron. If we are placing our hopes on him, we are in trouble.

Paschall is having a very tough stretch. He's getting stuffed in the paint, stripped of rebounds, and is looking a bit lost.

Wiggins was not even close to clutch missing FT's at critical times.

Oubre had the worst +/- on the team.

Steph can do it all but he can't win by himself. The most entertaining basketball player ever, has to play with guys that can't hold up their end of the game. WTF are they thinking? There is not even a glimmer or rumor that they are actively trying to acquire anyone. Maybe the Ball for Oubre trade could start things off in the right direction. Ball has been starting lately. We'll need another ball handler + he can rebound and smother smaller guards. Or, maybe the Dubs have thrown in the towel and will let this iteration play it out and make their changes during the off season. That's another win now year lost, 3 in a row. I guess nothing lasts forever. Shucks.

Oh Looney,

When the chance to shine comes your way all your stars get crossed.

It’s amazing that with all the roster spots dedicated to bigs, the Warriors only had Green, Paschall, and are we really calling JTA a 4??? Looks like Smiley needs to play or go at this point. It doesn’t make sense to carry him if you’re not going to play him when you have 3 centers out.

Oubre with second unit really isn’t working. The D is atrocious compared to where it was with Wiggins.

I actually enjoyed the fight of that game. They played hard and showed how good they can be in the first. Looney literally hurting himself (no help needed) made the second unit’s 2nd quarter a killer. Boston attacked relentlessly when Looney went down and the Warriors fought back but couldn’t finish.

That’s a loss that can be placed on roster construction/nepotism rather than playing or coaching.

Overall a hard fought game with a few too many miscommunications between unexpected roster groupings that generally stemmed from guys playing hard.

Play Smiley or get Tucker.

Oubre actually passed up an early 3 to get Steph an open 3. So maybe there’s a sliver of hope?

Obviously bad luck with the injuries, but man, Wiggins killed us tonight. So many wide open threes bricked! And lack of boxing out in crunch time to go with blown free throws.

Well, at least we won't finish top ten.
