Harrison Barnes’ beard didn’t look great, but his game sure did. The ex-Warrior and his teammates from Sacramento took advantage of a weakened Warriors roster and thoroughly controlled the game throughout.
The cycle of tanking is a never ending loop.
The Black Falcon has now had his revenge, and in doing so granted the Warriors a much needed additional loss before the return of Stephen Curry.
Barnes and De’Aaron Fox led the Kings attack, punching the Warriors in the face with a 33 point first quarter. Golden State didn’t have much to offer in the form of a counter punch, but Marquese Chriss got going a bit with a 21 point, 10 rebound double double.
Did Barnes and Andrew Wiggins take this game as a measuring contest? The two wings are now inexorably tied to a franchise-altering pathway. Wiggins, much like Barnes did before him, will somehow play a pivotal role one way or another as the Warriors hope for the best but willingly look outside the franchise to improve at the wing position if it makes sense.
This was a Warriors roster that looked every bit like it has earned the lowest offensive rating in the game.
Playing without floor general, Draymond Green (who is expected to return against the Lakers later this week) the Warriors went 1-17 from behind the arc in the 1st half, ending that game at 4 of 28 on threes.
The Sacramento Kings now take a 3-0 series sweep against the Warriors into the record books. They’ve got a fun team, and there’s always been something a little personal about this matchup. Maybe it has something to do with the proximity - seeing (and hearing) opposing fans all the time can be rough.
Rest easy, Warriors nation. Stephen Curry should return to us on Sunday to shepherd us back into the light.
As usual, this is just a short thread to allow us a space to spread the Tankgratulations. Daniel Hardee will try and squeeze some more Gold Blooded joy out of the loss with a full recap for us all tomorrow.
Enough tanking already! This draft has a weak top-3, but it has good players 10 and 15 spots down. We can get a quality 3-and-D rotation player in the middle of the 1st round, while tanking to a top-3 pick gets us . . . LaMelo Ball.
I don’t know if I should be concerned about Poole’s outside shot yet. Sometimes he shoots it and really odds are it could end up anywhere, top of the backboard, behind the backboard, off the front of the rim, perhaps even through the basket. I don’t want to get too hard on the guy because he really is improving and I like his personality but that shot has me a little worried. It could hurt someone....
Hope the guys hang in there before they get catapulted upward. They play hard, and you could tell they’re not happy with losing (just basing it from their reactions when they lose their matchups during the game; there was even a point in the game when both Kevon and Marquese hung their heads at the same time while on the bench when the Kings scored). Hope they all continue to get more confident because I noticed the opposing teams feed off of their lack of certainty, kinda related to what Draymond said about teams just wanting to get back at them for being the dominant team for a while.
Continuation of BKs question last thread. I think the only way the Sixers part with Embiid is through a three way trade involving Draymond Green and both draft picks as a starting point. Don't think they want DG straight up as he duplicates alot of what Simmons does. They need floor spacers and if another team can send a floor spacer or two in exchange for Green plus the Dubs two first rounders then maybe there's a deal to be had. Personally I thought there was more of a deal to be had if we still had Dlo that we could throw in with both picks. Don't think Sixers want Wiggins and I think they may have better trade offers elsewhere.
I feel a bit of comfort in losing these games and it’s not even because of draft position but just knowing there’s a lot of excitement about the young pieces moving forward to add to the main guys. The last time the warriors truly sucked there wasn’t much to be hopeful about. (Not counting the Calvary returning)
One thing we must realise is that poole is not a shooter. We must look beyond him for shooting.more than 50 games and still 26% 3pt
