Otto, GP2, Beli: total combined minutes this season = 146. Otto hasn't played for two weeks and GP2 has yet to return from his operation. If this trend continues, the Dubs' medical/training staff need a retroactive award for squeezing 70-ish games each + playoffs out of those guys... or keep around whatever lucky charm/voodoo magic we used last season.

Dear JMG,

I’m sorry to have been so harsh about your defensive failings this year. I want you to know that I have noticed your progress on that end and wish you all the best at continuing your improvement as the season goes on.

Another moment from last game made me realize I need to acknowledge that JMG is moving his feet better on D as time goes on. Still the last man down the court by a mile a couple times but it was on O instead of D that I noticed.

Maybe he’s still playing his way back into shape and his D isn’t as doomed as it has appeared for most of this season. 🙏

Jason Timpf is back and so are the Warriors (in his first block) https://youtu.be/LfJ30gmdhbY

His biggest point; with the starting lineup this good (best 5-man lineup in the league), they can create insurmountable leads…and they have plenty of time to figure the bench out, juggle lineups before deciding if they need to do anything with the roster.

Brush with fame complete. It was Owen Wilson. He was a pretty chill guy and very unassuming. He’d be really easy to walk by on the street and not even notice, unless he opens his mouth and starts talking. Imagine him saying, ”Wow, would you look at the way that parrot is holding that peanut.” and that’s exactly how it sounded. His two sons were nice we’re about 8 and 10 and seemed like good kids. They helped me feed the exotic birds and had fun meeting a bunch of the injured and orphaned animals we take care of.

I've been pretty critical of Kerr this year for the Us vs Them rotations to start the season. I love Kerr, but I will stand by the critique. JK played very well the last two games, the difference? He was playing in rotations with more cumulative experience and continuity. It is so much easier for a young player to 'play well' when the 4 players around him know what they are doing. Even more so if one of those players is Draymond. In the same vein, Moody should be able to sub in for Klay or Wiggs in the starting line-up and find the same success. What got in my craw was Curry and/or Green not taking it upon themselves to get the young guys on the court with them, and just going along with the we play together, we sit together plan. But all's well that ends well. The vets are coming into form. Kerr is spreading the wealth in rotations and we are seeing an immediate impact.

But will they apply the same thinking to Moody and Wiseman? I'm okay with focusing on JK for the next 10 games until he forces Lamb out of regular rotation minutes. But Moody will need a turn and will Kerr do the same for him. Bigger yet, there is a statement I hear regularly that Wiseman can't play with Steph. The Steph-Dray-Wiseman trio was -8.5 per 100 possessions in 420 minutes in James' rookie season. Considering Wiseman only played 3 college games, had no summer camp, no training camp, and was coming into the most complex basketball system in the league, was that really bad? On a team that didn't even make the playoffs? If the belief is Wiseman can't play with Steph, why is he even on the team? If we believe, or desire, to see him succeed and be able to play with Steph, how will he ever if he never plays with Steph?

We are seeing improvement from JK because Kerr has finally put him in a position to succeed and grow. This can happen with Moody and this can happen with Wiseman. I just hope Kerr, and the vets, see the same. All 3 can play meaningful minutes in the playoffs. And all it takes is getting these guys minutes playing along side the guys that matter. All together now!!!!! Off to Dallas where Wiggs will be all over Doncic like BBQ Sauce on Ribs.

This is such a sick one-minute highlight reel from that game: https://twitter.com/_JasonLT/status/1597274641164169216?s=20&t=sQ_Pil9yHdZT5AZsYPpUtw

The first quarter of the game was so good. Warriors bliss. If Kerr does fond 4 quarters of that in the playoffs (assuming the team gets there) WGBC again.

After a slow start to the season Steph is once again the +/- leader to date: https://www.statmuse.com/nba/ask/highest-plus-minus. Four of the five Warriors starters are in the top 20 and Wiggins is 22nd. Not surprising given how dominant the starting lineup has been...

OT: I’m supposed to meet a pretty big celebrity (actor) today. Because of where I grew up, my parents’ line of work and my own jobs, I’ve met a ton of celebs and usually pretty blasé about it, but I’m pretty big fan of this guy so will make an effort to not fanboy out. He’s scheduled to bring his kids to the animal shelter where I volunteer and I’m going to be introducing them to our animals. Assuming it happens (it’s pretty rainy right now), I’ll dish afterward.

I still can't believe that Kawakami said the full strength Pelicans were without question better than the full strength Warriors right after that Pelican game. It blows my mind how little that guy understands a sport he covers for a living.

Around 3:30 in the afternoon, someone told me the game was over. Like a few others here, I missed the live game because I didn't check the start time.

I had already seen the score, but watched the full replay last night. Sweet game.

The Dubs are coming out of their funk, and so am I. My pre-season irrational exuberance is over; now, I'm working on finishing off my early season pessimistic streak. Amazing what a few Klay 3's will do for my spirits.

Klay, Poole, DDV all looking so much better! Kuminga with a couple of pretty decent games, too. Even JaMychal Green seems to have found the flow. It will be interesting to see if he's washed at hitting 3s, or this year (so far) and last year in Denver is an aberration. I'd love to see the version of JMG that buried corner 3 after corner 3 when the Clips played the Dubs a few years ago.

I still have my fingers crossed for Wiseman. Hope he can work things out with SCW. Has a big star ever taken so long to develop before he's started looking good in games? Examples, please.

Took a trip to Mavs Moneyball for a temperature check and it’s pretty down there, s lot of “blow it up” type talk. Given they just played @Milwaukee and Boston it’s probably more pessimistic than is warranted. Hope we aren’t their rebound game…

Loved how JK played. Among other things, the full court 1-on-1 defense has been missing since we don't have GP2 and Wiggs is saving it for playoffs I guess.

incredible catch from Tony Slates on that game-opening thunderjam from Wiggins: he was walking & blowing into his hands, then bumped into Kat, & then revved up down the runway

As people come back to the realization that Klay is an F’ing giant can we hit the logical extreme: When Jordan’s dad was killed and he had to take time off to play minor league baseball, the Bulls were a playoff team but not Champs, when he came back they still lost to Shaq’s Magic as Jordan played his way into rhythm. Then they owned the league for the second run.

While Klay was out the Warriors were the worst team in the League without Curry. Without Klay, the Warriors were good in stretches but lacked the confidence to make the playoffs. With Klay, they win it all again immediately despite Klay playing his way back into rhythm.

When all is said and done (if the Warriors FO doesn’t get too hypothetical with the players they put around the F’ing Giants) Steph & Klay will prove to be a better duo than Jordan & Pippen.

I think it was a tough path for Kyr, especially since other players efforts were not falling into place effectively. But he stay the course and now we all, and Kuminga are well served.
