Anyway … I liked seeing Kuminga start in Draymond’s place. Classic injury opportunity. A bit earlier than I expected based on Kuminga’s progress (and hoped that wouldn’t be necessary because Dray would deliver an iron man season). As many have pointed out here, a chance to play with the starters represents excellent developmental opportunities. And what we saw was pretty satisfying. Yea, dumb fouls, defensive gaffes; but more than made up for by some beautiful interactions with the starters, savage rim attacks, and high effort defense. 10 boards? Well done. For a guy who was derided for a lack of effort on the boards seemingly just a few weeks ago, it’s great to see him responding quickly.
I love how Kerr is being so blunt about why he’s playing Kuminga in this spot now: "With Draymond out, it feels like a good time to play JK with Steph and Klay and Loon. We really want to see what he looks like in that starting group...He's earned this." Earning the spot has gotta be motivating for Wiseman and Moody.
In other news, the Splash Brothers (now Splash Triplets??!?!) are back. So beautiful to see Steph, Klay and Wiggs dissect the defense, nail the open jumpers, and generally show top form. Yea Detroit kinda sucked, but still. This is what I, as a fan, have been longing for.
Not sure why you guys are ragging on Moody so much. He’s gotten very little playing time with the Dubs so far, not even getting to practice with the team much because he is either down in SC or traveling there. How is it surprising that he’s not a smooth cog fitting into the beautiful complexity of the offense? When he actually gets to play he figures out stuff fast and contributes. He’ll be there eventually. I’m really psyched that we got him in addition to Kuminga.
Steph hurt his finger(s) on his left hand on a hard pass from GP2, not from contact with a defender. Wasn't expecting the pass and didn't have his hand extended when it arrived, making his fingers vulnerable. Hoping it's just a mild sprain. Obviously wasn't dislocated.
Imo, the bigger question about the rebounding is how he handles boxing out the more physical teams
—————————————————
I think that’s going to have to be the next step in his progression. Same with Wiseman. Positioning. Being able to properly anticipate and box out properly. I mean 10 Rebs is still 10 rebs so credit to him Hope he builds on this because that and attacking the basket is what they’ll need from him this year to maximize our chances to compete at highest level.
Great game, kuminga started off real rookie like but turned his game around had some nice passes and and knocked down some 3s. I think moody is adjusting to being a number 3-4 option on offense, he might be like poole where he needs some shots to get into rhythm, I'm not worried about him

Semi-OT: did they tamp down attendance at Chase cuz of covid?
Place looked empty.
Sweeeeet!! Kerr saying Steph could've come back in (just opted for rest because of the score)

The passing. These guys could be an NBA commercial: "NBA basketball is FANtastic...."
Anthony Slater @anthonyVslater
Steve Kerr said the Warriors will keep starting Jonathan Kuminga in Draymond Green’s absence.
=======================
Get JK as much experience as possible as the roll man in the PnR and communicating and moving off-ball defensively.
Steph with 8 AST and 1 TO... who does he think he is? Frankie Ferrari?!

I honestly don't have too much issue with it.

Well, that was a really fun first half :)
Great game of the splash bros and Wigs, Kuminga was solid and Moody needs a haircut, he looks older than Iguodala
Also why tf didnt cade play the whole 4th quarter? Lol

Only woke up in time to watch the fourth quarter. Score looks like it was pretty much extended garbage time from halftime on, does that seem right?
